right ladies, enough is enough is enough for me tonight - am off to bed

sleep well

libbyssister · 27/05/2008 23:03

That helps! I knew as soon as I saw there was a new thread that I was never going to catch up... Glad to hear that things are ticking over and people are enjoying some time away.

Have only been off work with DS for one week and we had a spat today. He was slapping me round the face while he was on the toilet and so I stuck him in the (empty) bath and walked out until he said sorry. He's in nursery on Thursdays and the first one I had last week was great. Just to do what the HELL I wanted ALL DAY.

I have started buying a few things for the new arrival. Actually most of the things I've bought have been for me (lots of pads, feeding bras, creams)... One of my things to do is get all the newborn stuff down from the loft and see what's ok and what needs replacing. Still haven't started writing in the baby journal thing yet!

Will make more effort to log in once in a while, especially on Thursdays!

OK, bedtime now. Night!

poppysocks · 28/05/2008 08:29

Moring all. Still on our hols, but it's all taken a bit of a turn for the worse - although nothing serious.

First, DH developed manflu. He was actually very good about it and just collapsed for 24 hours. Not surprising as he hadn't had a day off work since Christmas and was pretty run down.

DH was looking to be just about well enough for us, on Sunday, to head up to London, sans DD, leaving her with my Mum. Not great when the whole house was woken that morning by the sound of her vomitting. She seemed ok not long afterwards so we still went, but she carried on being sick all day and couldn't keep anything down. I couldn't relax at all and when she was sick again as soon as she woke up on Monday am, we decided we needed to get back to her. Needless to say that by the time we battled through cancelled trains (because it was raining ), she was absolutely fine. My Mum was gutted to have let us down and so were we to have our final chance of some time together before DD2 arrives was gone. We've only managed one other night away since she arrived so were REALLY looking forward to this. Never mind.

Now, I've spent a terrible night feeling sick and with cramps. Was v. worried in the night that things were starting and I was going to have a tiny little premature baby, but now just think I have some of DD's bug. DH is still snoring and all I can manage is 'supervise' some CBeebies watching .

Sorry - all v. me, me, me. Glad to hear all's well with everyone else. Sarah - so pleased all well with your growth scan. My brother and sister were born at 29 + a couple and came out at 3lb 1oz and 3lb 10ozs and absolutely fine, so we really do have proper little people in there now!

Lovely photos TS. Glad you got confirmation on the pink side of things. We def. have some backtracking to do if we end up with a boy - although at least we'd have a name!

Hello to everyone else. If I carry on for any longer I'll send everyone to sleep - if you're still with me anyway!

Yes it's me again up at 4am. This is becoming somewhat of a pattern.

Poppy so sorry for you failed attempt to reconnect with DH. And Sazzles sorry for the foul weather but glad DH is being dreamy.

Using my time wisely as DH snores next to me. Breech presentation information for anyone who cares to be enlightened.

TwilightSurfer · 28/05/2008 14:19

Okay....officially up now. And it appears to be raining here too now. Guess it's perfect weather for me to clean the kitchen.

OP posts:
cyteen · 28/05/2008 15:52

Oh god, don't mention cleaning! We are just this second back from the old house, where we have FINALLY finished moving out once and for all. Today was cleaning day. I've seen more dirt than I ever care to see again, but the place looks bloody good. DP got some truly hideous stuff off the cooker hood and I cleaned enough mould off the bathroom window to turn a bucket full of water black within minutes . Actually feel quite ashamed that we were living in all that muck tbh.

Anyway, if they don't give us our deposit back after this I will stage a sit-in at the letting agent's office.

Am now slumped on sofa with an enormous glass of wine. I probably shouldn't, since this morning I used some incredibly toxic mould remover on the bathroom grout (((my baby))), but there it is.

libbyssister great to have you back - we were getting quite worried about you

poppy sorry to hear your holiday plans didn't work out...here's hoping you can at least get some uninterrupted snuggles with your DH over the next few weeks.

dizzydixies · 28/05/2008 16:01

cyteen the wine will only make sure that no harm comes to you from the toxic mould remover

ts are you still here or are you off cleaning?!?

miamla · 28/05/2008 16:05

Hello, did anyone miss me? Since last writing I've moved into our lovely house and been involved in the IT side of moving 600 people to our new building, all in the same weekend! To say I'm tired is an understatement!
Baby's kicking like a trooper especially during the night which isn't helping my tiredness but I'd rather that than him staying quiet.
Pil visiting next weekend but once they're gone we're going to decorate the nursery!!! I'm so excited!
DP and I are rattling around in the house... We've got too much space but I'm sure this will change once baby arrives!
So ALBS we're practically neighbours now!! Mat leave doesn't start til end june but I'll be taking some days off before then so let me know when you fancy meeting for a (decaf) coffee
VG my sewing machine is unpacked so I'm all ready to get going on your top... Finally! Perhaps you should send me a new waist measurement!

VintageGardenia · 28/05/2008 16:40

libbyssister (do you really have a sister called Libby?) and miamla WELCOME BACK we missed you lots. Good work dizzy on the overall update, if we could manage to give you a raise we'd ask you to do a weekly roundup of us, like morningpaper's! I'll be back for more later going to fire a chicken into the oven & cajole DS into doing homework, then after a spot of dogtaming will be on hoping for some gossip. So get it ready, girls!

VintageGardenia · 28/05/2008 16:41

miamla maybe we should discuss making it a bf top!

TwilightSurfer · 28/05/2008 16:48

Of course you were missed Miamla. Glad you're settling in.

Cyteen, enjoy your vino.

Dizzy, I am here on and off. Did the checkbook balance but then laid down again. Just feel totally zapped today. DD is being very good, playing with PlayDoh and watching tv. It's still raining/drizzling out so I'll probably get her puddle boots out in a while and let her puddle jump.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 28/05/2008 16:52

VG hello lady - not sure I could do a weekly one but happy to have helped lol

TS have seen an pram but its new to the UK - do you know any sites with you where you can see reviews, not just product blurb?!?

duowalker sky what do you think, have you seen any?

its VERY similar to Sazzles mountain buggy BUT also adapts to take a car seat, not just a carry cot

TwilightSurfer · 28/05/2008 16:54

I looked that pram up a few months back. Let me see if I can remember where I read about it.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 28/05/2008 17:02

I'm pretty sure the EasyWalker was discussed in one of my pregnancy magazines. I haven't found the article online yet....because I can't remember which magazine.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 28/05/2008 17:19

Well Dizzy it must have been a small blurp because I can't find it on any of my magazines' websites. I then went out to all the places where I read product reviews and check pricing....lots of pricing detail but nobody's written a single review yet. It must be REALLY NEW to the market.

Just from what I read and seen online, it sounds great and I love the colors...the pink one is the same pink as the stroller I just purchased.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 28/05/2008 17:21

they only do it in sodding navy/black or red over here

may have to do a trip over to see you to get a shot of one AND a decent colour lol

thank you for looking though

TwilightSurfer · 28/05/2008 17:23

This site had the best pictures of the stroller and all it's accessories.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 28/05/2008 17:25

I really like the turquoise one and can only get black/navy/read or army over here - pants
