Holiday weekend here as well. DH is home till Monday evening. DD sang in the closing program at her preschool today. She was just too cute. 3D/4D scan on Tuesday morning!!! I can't WAIT!!!!!

Sazzles, I hope that you have a lovely holiday, and everyone else that you have lovely weekends, full of baby shopping, nice things and good weather.

I'm tired here, oh but was vaccinated against tetanus yesterday. I asked my obstetrician several times about it and tried to say (in Spanish) "I don't think that they do this in England", hum maybe I'm turning into a stroppy patient - TS is it normal in the States? or Expectant in Singapore? Maybe it is just higher risk here - or more people don't have complete vaccination histories.

VG, I didn't think that your post about medical notes was boring.

Not very intelligent thoughts from me tonight - but well never mind, lots of greetings to everyone and it's very nice to chat with you all because even good friends or my family would get a bit bored after months on end of conversation about maternity clothes, buggies, baby movements, scans etc.

My in-laws laugh at me because I go out in a shirt and everyone on the street is bundled into coats hats and scarves ... so not that cold yet!

What's the weather doing "up north"?

Tetanus is something that we (in the US) get vaccacinated for every 7 to 10 years. You also get it if you "can't" remember the last time you had a shot. That's just to be on the safe side. I'm actually due to have one. I'll deal with that after the pregnancy. It hurts for a while after so don't worry too much. It's a good thing to have it with all the germy germs around. It only takes a simple break of the skin to get something nasty, especially in old buildings.

Today the weather's been overcast but pleasant. Getting hotter each day. I'm down to a halter top, skirt or pj bottoms and flip flops. VERY SCARED about the heat to come over the next couple of months.

Only 7pm here. Figured I get my internet fix then go to bed early. Just researching swaddle blankets at the moment.

Ah yes, that makes sense, and yes, now you mention it, it does still ache!

Sounds like nice research! My feet would never cope in flip flops, it's only by keeping them in shoes all day that they don't get too swollen ... another reason why I am glad that the winter is approaching!

My last tet-shot hurt for a week. Seriously. I had them recheck it and the nurse just looked at me funny. She thought I was a big baby.

I've never heard of it as a pregnancy thing. Forgive my ingorance but is there underdeveloped areas in Argentina? If so, it makes sense as instruments used or birth areas might not be properly sanitized. So it's a good idea if the country just makes it a common practice ACROSS THE BOARD. Saves lives.

Medicine here is public, based on social security or private. Even in public hospitals the medicine practiced and the doctors are generally very good, just less money and less resources than the private sector.

But yes, I hadn't thought about there being areas of the country where tetanus is higher risk. Makes sense.

Yum indeed. I wonder if watermelon is grown here. Hum. Will ask DH and report back. I found out yesterday that rice is grown in the north of the country, which I think is very interesting.

Argentina is quite long. I thought it had an array of climates. I bet watermelon is grown somewhere in the country. Very interesting about rice...just proves where there is a will there is a way.

Just had our first day of antenatal classes, it was really excellent. A lovely group of people and the teacher was fantastic. It was just great to spend a whole day with both of us concentrating on nothing but the pregnancy and impending parenthood; we haven't done that at all yet, and it made it seem much more real (and exciting!) Going for the second day tomorrow...in the meantime I'm supposed to be revising for my driving theory test MUST - APPLY - SELF - zzzzzzzzzzzz

Borrowed a baby name book from the NCT lady, so have been having fun going through that and have got a couple of rogue additions to the list: Felix and Conrad.

So what did I miss? We've had a fantastic time in Florida, utterly exhausted after doing week 2 of basically nowt but theme parks. Plane landed at 10am this morning so we got home aroud 1.45pm. Not slept now in 31 hours, getting in some practice for when ds2 arrives . Am now in some kind of dazed state. But we had the best fun!!
