just a quick message, haven't caught up with everyone but just wanted to say....

TS you poor thing. its such a worry when you can tell what the doctor's thinking. but you need to concentrate on the fact that he told you good news and you got to see your baby. did he suggest anything to get baby moved into a different position? i've heard that kneeling on all four with your shoulders lower than your hips encourages them to move head down more. also, the magic wind releasing position of lying on your left side apparently helps as well

Failing that, try drawing her a map on your tummy where you want her various limbs to be!

Doc said I could try and move her. I did get her to be head down on Sunday for a while. She just likes the position she's in...however I don't. Now that I know for sure that I'm CORRECT, I will be working daily to get her head down. All my yoga training may pay off after all.

Sazzles dear

Ooh blimey, scares and arguments, that's not fun.

(((TS and Sazzles))) Wishing you both all kinds of relaxing times in the near future.

VG, great to have you back I have gone a bit quiet of late, been fretting over things a little bit (although I think they are okay, I'm just a natural worrier) and this has meant I've been reading more than posting.

Been writing some copy for our fundraising website this evening; it's hard trying to tell my brother's story with the right level of distance. We want it to be useful to people, so that they can get a sense of the kind of struggles someone might go through when dealing with a rare sarcoma, but also to reflect who he was and how much everybody loved him. I miss him a lot...can't believe my baby will have to grow without the uncle and the grandmother he should have had.

VintageGardenia · 09/05/2008 21:47

TS sorry to hear of your fright but glad to know everything is back on track. I have heard of midwives manipulating the baby from the outside to correct a breech position, but I presume the way things are at the moment the baby would just move back to its favourite position? But I guess if it's a transverse lie later on it can be manipulated for you. Anyone know if this is right?

Sazzles I've had a scrap with DP too, seems I can't stop having them actually. He puts up with a lot but sometimes he snaps. This one started yesterday, didn't get resolved this morning & he's not home from work yet so has probably gone to the pub. Unlike him not to let me know. So am a bit and with you. Let's resolve everything over the weekend. Yoga won't be much good to us if we're giving each other evillers!

cyteen sounds very tough. Would it be an idea for you to write the copy the way it comes from your heart, then get someone else to rewrite it so that it has the level of "distance" you're talking about? You will keep the memories alive for your child.

Hugs all round tonight, eh?

PetitFilou1 · 09/05/2008 22:12

TS Just so you know, ds was transverse at this stage (ds1 that is) and turned himself later on. I felt that I can tell you, it was like a washing machine in my stomach! Didn't do anything special he just decided to turn round.

Cyteen I agree with VG's advice on the website about your brother. Write it the way you feel and then get someone to look at it objectively for you and edit it a bit.

Hope everyone is getting on better with their dps over the weekend (VG good to have you back by the way) I'm finally getting on well again with mine after weeks of stress! He managed to get ds2 to move this evening - he hasn't moved all day - then dh talked to him with his hand on my belly and bingo. Bloody typical!

Night all

tigz1985 · 09/05/2008 22:38

hey all

just found MN, lovin all the chat.

i'm 22 1st baby due 25 Aug livin in Dundee.

cyteen · 09/05/2008 22:44

Welcome tigz! You're due the day after me

longwayfromhome · 10/05/2008 01:11

Hello, hugs all round indeed. Sending many positive thoughts to you all from Argentina, it sounds like people have been having a difficult few days. Here the only problem is that the farmers have gone on strike again, oh yes, and a big volcano is erupting in Chile and covering the south of the country in ash, but neither of these is affecting us in Bs As at the moment.

Greetings tigz1985.

Having not been very busy for the last 8 months I started some work experience this week (Dizzy, are you on work experience as well, I think so?) I am really enjoying having to go to "work" and have things to think about properly again but am completely shattered this evenining and so am particularly looking forward to the weekend.

My parents in law would never tell me what to do, and are great people, but my MIL has sent me a mammoth email about buggies and so I think that thinking about this will be a nice job for the weekend.

I think that baby LWFH has moved as I'm sure that I used to be able to feel a head under my ribs and now not.

Waiting for DH to get home ... if I don't fall asleep first.

OH MY I'm exhausted. Going to bed now after preparing things for tomorrow. After DDs soccer there's a big family gathering because my brother and his family are in town. I've a roast in the slow cooker, a casserole sitting in the fidge and gallons of lemonaid & tea. My aunts are handling all the rest....as well as the location. I just couldn't manage all the fuss here. YIKES!!

Longway I've been hearing on the news about the volcano and wondered if it was bothering you.

Tigz1985 welcome...you've been added to our megaLIST.

I'll check in with all late tomorrow. Have a splendid weekend!!!!!

Sazzles, so sorry I missed you last night. Sounds like you had a busy morning. Dental work including the xrays are quite safe for bellybabies these days. I'm so glad you scored a quick fix and that it was FREE. I had my wisdom teeth removed several years ago. I LOVED IT!! Had the most incredible day following the 15 surgery. My dentist laughed at me because it took 3 years for him to convince me to have the procedure. You'll feel soooo much better now.....but remember you've lost some WISDOM. LOL

I'm in pain this morning but not the tooth kind. This kid keeps moving herself around and poking me in ways that are EVIL. I was up and down all night trying to find a position that didn't hurt. I got about two hours of relief between 5 & 7 but then as soon as DD came in to wake me the baby, I guess, got made and started poking me again. UHG!!!!

No time for pain....too much to do today. Shower Time!!

OP posts:
Buckets · 10/05/2008 13:31

Heheh good timing with that tooth then Sazzles. I must book myself in for a checkup soon.

Hope everyone's made up with their DPs now, it's no fun suffering on your own.

My superbusy week is nearly over. Had DS's visit to pre-school yesterday, they're really keen to have him (well I am on the committee) and he was good as gold. Just come back from my Adopt-an-animal stall at the pre-school fete with DD who was also v good, am quite knackered but full of cakes and bacon butties. Was appalled to discover that DD now likes bacon so that means less for me and DH in future. Just work tomorrow then a nice uninteresting week, and my horrid cold should be better soon so sex might be on the cards again .

cyteen · 10/05/2008 14:19

Morning all,

Glad you got to a dentist Sazz. Toothache is right up there with earache as The Worst.

Our plans for the day have gone tits up as DP has had to go into the office to appease an unreasonable foreign client So I am stuck at home trying to organise stuff ready for our house move. Am currently on my lunchbreak from sorting through the masses of 'life stuff' paperwork that seems to accrue without me noticing. I actually feel quite fired up to do it (v excited about moving, how sad is that ) but thought I'd knock off for a sandwich and to watch my Saturday guilty pleasure: that Pussycat Dolls reality show

It sure would be nice to be out in the sunshine though

Squidboy is still on a go-slow; he is moving in there, but it's all much lighter and more swishy than before. I'm trying not to worry though and concentrating on the fact that he is moving. He has given me a fair few kicks in the cervix and against the back passage, so I'm assuming he's just got himself into a new and exciting position and wants to stay there for a while.

Twilightsurfer glad your baby is okay, Buckets hope the diagnosis means that it is easier to get help.
alittlebitshy I Think I win the shortarse award at 146 cm not sure what it is in feet, and my dh is 6 foot 2. But ds was only 7 pounds five ounces so I'm hoping for another medium sized baby.

Sazzles you are very brave getting teeth pulled eesh.

alittlebitshy · 11/05/2008 09:39

Ouch sazzles. Hope it feels betetr today.

I ought to win the stupid pregnant lady award for the day, cos I managed to get sun burnt yesterday. We went to the funfair at Southend and had a great day (though dh had to do all the high rides with dd that i'd normally do, and he HATES heights!) but i forgot / couldn't be botheed to sun cream myself (did dd) and I now have rather red sore arms. Seems to just be my arms thank goodness, but ow!!! Sent dh to get sun cream last night cos I think we've had ours since honeymoon 6 years ago .

we're off to the Global Day of Prayer at Milwall stadium, this afternoon (will put sun cream on). Have just been making picnic up. Need to get dressed (though will have to change before we go cos it's parade at church so i will have to wear my Guiders uniform which I am NOT wearing to Milwall lol.).

VintageGardenia · 11/05/2008 09:42

Oh Sazzles poor you! I hope the pain and swelling ease off. Can you use arnica or something to speed recovery? You will feel normal again soon, well before 15 weeks!

Buckets when will your DS be starting preschool, in September? It will be a busy month for you with a new baby then! But probably quite nice to have a few hours to be able to concentrate on feeding and sleeping.

Made up properly with dear old DP thank goodness and yoga was brilliant, really helpful & has given him an idea of what he might be able to do on labour day - I think he was dreading being a fifth wheel not knowing what to do but mutter "is there anything I can do?". I'm really glad we went. NOW what would be excellent would be a massage class! (Some hope ) He's keen to do what he can but I'm probably not the best for getting help from people despite innerly longing for it, iykwim.

cyteen when do you move?

albs you stay out of the sun today. I hope your Guider's hat has a big brim! I have two greyish-brown blotches on my forehead (attractive) which my doc said is The Mask of Pregnancy (sounds like a Hammer Horror) also known as chloasma (sp?) and it's caused by overpigmentation stimulated by exposure to the sun, I think it can also just happen spontaneously because of PAST exposure to the sun. Medical sorts may put me right? Anyway he said KEEPETH OUTETH OF THE SUN for whole preg to preserve previously pristine ( ) complexion.

lwfh we are hoping to look at buggies today too, time permitting. Let me know how you get on!
