squarah and anyone else who may be interested, I've just posted a few of our holiday snaps from last year to show some of the sights of Kefalonia on my profile.

cass66 · 02/05/2008 20:14

hello. All this talk about holidays, esp somewhere warm, I'm quite jealous. and grumpy. going to a good friends 40th party in 2 weeks time and have nothing exciting to wear except black trousers that I wear to work and and a black top. feet swollen and horrid in all shoes. everything else is too whale like. don't want to buy anything maternity just for the party, so feel fat and crap now.

might have to attack the rhubarb pie I bought today. with low fat creme fraiche.

pigleychez · 02/05/2008 20:30

Hello everyone,

Sorry to all those with insomnia. Thankfully ive always been a good sleeper and this hasnt continued throughout pregnancy.(dont want to shout too loud though!)

Squarah-Im 30 weeks tomorrow but when i had my 28 week appointment the MW said i measured 30 weeks. Said they have growth supports so not to worry but like you cant help to think it will end up a giant!

Tjuice- good luck finding something stunning for your wedding. I just did a google search for 30 week images and saw this and thought of you--

sweetkitty · 02/05/2008 20:59

Evening all

Safari park was good but boy am I paying for it now, am in bloody agony, will be going to bed shortly I think. At least the weather was good and DD1 had a nice time. Been coughing like mad this evening and am now wearing a sanitary towel
(can't believe some of the things I tell a bunch of strangers on the net).

I think we are all feeling emotional as well, I was nearly blubbing at Corrie tonight. I know I can cope (just about with a newborn and the other two) it's the next 10 weeks that are bothering me plus the birth in that I hope the DDs don't see me in labour. DP is trying to get one day a week working at home right now, still to find out if DD2 can go to DD2's nursery early and I am going to get an ironing lady.

Am so at you holuday ladies, good on you, theres no way I could go on holiday right now but enjoy yours some sun would be lovely.

libralady - have a great time and get some sun on that bump.

Re: perineal massage - I didn't do it with DD1 and had a second degree tear but that was due to her presentation i.e. she came out waving with her hand at her face and came out too fast. DD2 was 3lbs heavier and I had nothing so I am hoping DD2 has paved the way so to speak and this one falls out. The having the stitches was tough but afterwards it was no big deal really looking after them. Fanjo has changed a bit but nothing compared to some on that C4 programme the other night why did I watch that?

isaidno · 02/05/2008 22:10

lol pigley at that photo!

MINNIE1 · 02/05/2008 22:52

Evening all,
Trying to catch up but forgot all i have read!! Pregnancy brain kicking in..

Off to bed, hope you all are well and taking it easy..

disneystar · 03/05/2008 08:21

i have grey streaks in my hair now only a few but they are there i wanted to go to get my hair done and them coloured to
then im going to have a saturday with my daughter gettin a facial and my bushy eyebrows done ive never bothered profressionaly before but this pregnancy all my hair and eyebrows have gone mad
ive also got loads of facial hair
has anyone else had extra hair growth,my nails look like they are false they are so long
also my eyebrows have gone grey in places it looks horrible what can be done about that?
ive never worn make up only moisturised, and i know im 40 but grey eyebrows?? its not happening
hormones are making my body go nuts

Minkus · 03/05/2008 08:55

Morning all

Pigley ROFL x lots at that photo- Tjuice not sure it's your style, maybe a different fabric would be better satin is sooo unforgiving

disney my hair and nails are the same- growing so fast! Have noticed a bit of extra "downy" hair round the sides of my face too, hopefully not too much (plus I'm quite fair so might not be so noticable ) Getting your eyebrows done will be great, makes such a difference (well if you're like me a bit of a fairy and only manage to do half of one brow on your own cos it hurts too much- much better when a pro does it). Is it your daughter who is expecting? Will be a nice treat for you both!

I think getting your hair dyed is fine when you're preggers, I think a bit of it is down to personal choice like self tanning but my logic is that the stuff doesn't come into contact with your skin, only your hair so it's not like it can get absorbed into your body

Have fun Minnie!

DS is in the bath, dh in bed watching out for him (you can see the bath from our bed) and suffering with a bit of a hangover- seems to be a saturday theme at the moment! Realised that he was like this just before ds was born too, think he's getting the partying out of his system before baba arrives as he knows that he'll be more needed here then. SO I don't mind that much, although I could do without dh banging around in the kitchen at 3am making pizza (Plus he's found a new friend in our next door neighbour- they run together quite a lot and I think the lure of having a ready made drinking buddy next door is just too much to ignore)

Well today I will be mostly doing housework, the place is shocking now I am back at work and needs a jolly good cleanse. Finding it so hard to bend/move comfortably now though- and still got 9 weeks to go aaaaaargh!

Have a good day all

xxxx

MINNIE1 · 03/05/2008 09:05

TJuice · 03/05/2008 10:35

thanks for the fashion tip, piggey - but not quite my cup of tea. no end to some people's tackiness!

my dp came back from sweden yesterday with a really really cute playgym like this [[http://bp1.blogger.com/_LGLamtGdXWU/RtHIkaq1fnI/AAAAAAAAAoE/meLyIAcfdNU/s1600-h/Tummen.JPG one]
i know that loads of our friends have play gyms and want to get rid of them - but he had set his mind on it and just had to have it . . .!

well, just had tea and toast in bed from dp and we are going shopping today. its a beautiful day over here and i am going to check out a few danish designers (Malene Birger and Day Birger Mikkelsen) for town hall-appropriate dresses

have a great day everyone!

TJuice · 03/05/2008 10:36

hope this works

EEC · 03/05/2008 11:58

Pigley ? I too don?t seem to mind bump touching. Weird heh? I love friends family feeling the LO wriggle. Must say, I haven?t had any strangers doing it though. That photo is hilarious. It does make a nice change to have a laugh...

Mummypig ?I try not to wear the belt much, but do put it on when I walk the dog, and sometimes in the evening, when even walking round the house is too much. It does make a difference for me. I also got my belt free from the physio, although my sister had a narrower one which she lent me which I find more comfy.

Mcchesers ? I too turn from side to side all night. Just can?t get comfy. Turning is such an effort though.

CilC ? so sorry to hear you?ve been in hospital. Hope you?re feeling better soon. I hate mothers with no symptoms, don?t you?

They forgot to measure me so I?ve no idea how big I am, but I guess if I seemed enormous or tiny she would have said something...

I had a really weepy day yesterday. Felt so physically awful. Can?t bear the thought of another 10 weeks, and I have sooo much to do still before LO arrives. Still living out of boxes and haven?t sorted baby stuff yet. Help. Panic...

sweetkitty · 03/05/2008 13:16

Oh EEC I could have written your post as well, apart from the house moving stuff. I am in agony today probably from walking too much yesterday. Luckily DP is here today to help out/do everything. 10 weeks seems so long doesn't it?

I seriously need to get my hair done as well, I have had it done last two pregnancies as well, I read up a lot on it and there MAY be an increased risk that some of the chemicals could be absorbed through your scalp into your bloodstream, but it's never been proven and I reckon we probably breathe in ant eat more toxins every day.

Hope everyone else is having a good Saturday

JODIEhavingababy · 03/05/2008 14:26

Hi all,

It must be the day for it, my pelvis hurts alot today, I wonder if it's we are getting more 'active' now the weather's turning? I've been in the garden today and yesterday doing little bits, and I was working last night, doing a Pampered Chef Show, so was stood up for ages,.. Only 1 to go before I finish though, so not to bad, and everyone is very helpful about getting the boxes in and out of my boot.

I must say I don't mind the bump touching either, but I'm quite a touchy feely person anyway, and I'm guilty of touching others bumps too (but since being pregnant myself I'm always careful to ask first!)

I'm on my own this weekend DH gone to Bath to watch Bath V Sarencens (sp?) at rugby with his dad and his brother, won't be back until tomorrow afternoon, by which time I'll be shattered!

Also I put DS in his cot this morning while I bleached the bathroom and the little bugger climbed out! Time for a bed I think!

Sorry about the long 'me' post....

Good luck Tjuice with dress hunting, hope you find something nice! (although I'm quite taken with Pigley's suggestion!)

Disney - I think hair dying is fine, when I have highlights I always ask them to stay away from the scalp just in case, But there is no proof that it's harmful..

I forgot who asked, but I didn't do the perwasit massage with DS, just loads of PF's and I didn't get a tear, another tip fpr reduced tearing is to listen to the midwife, and if she tells you to stop pushing for a bit, then for god sake stop pushing!!!! (easier said than done tho!)

bebejones · 03/05/2008 14:55

Afternoon all. Just had a catch up on everything that has been going on! Going to 'do' the nursery this weekend which means moving the computer.....eeeeeeekkk!! Very scared that we will move it and then it wont work and then no more mumsnet....fingers crossed it will all be fine!

Have a good bank holiday everyone! Hopefully I will be back online before I have to go back to work. Got a dentist appointment and 28 week MW appointment this week!

TJuice · 03/05/2008 18:13

gosh Cilc - sorry that you were in hospital and hope you are feeling miles better. i did write back about you staying in copenhagen but it got lost when i was kicked off the wireless. i think the healthcare system is really good here, from my limited experience of it too. i live really close to rigshospitalet so i feel quite secure. i was telling my dad today that i know someone who biked to the hospital when she was in labour. he said it was one step up from peasant-style!!!

did find a really nice soft maxi dress today and my dp
got a linen suit and shirt from COS - so we are pretty much sorted. unless i change my mind again . . .

good luck with the boxes - eec - and hope you felt better today. its so overwhelming sometimes and especially with moving etc. those masterlists are the only thing that keep me together.

JODIEhavingababy · 03/05/2008 19:44

Glad you got your outfit sorted TJUICE

And Cilc, I missed that post about you spending tghe night in hospital.. I hope you are OK now? Sorry

libralady · 03/05/2008 21:23

I'm signing off now for a few days whilst I am on my hols. Please dont have any babies in my absence, and please don't talk too much otherwise I'll never catch up!

CilC · 03/05/2008 21:24

Hi everyone, feeling better now i have had some sleep.
On top of SPD, nausea and vomiting have lost 2 stone since getting pregnant I have developed gall stones and inflammed gall bladder. Apparently it can happen in pregnacy. I never went into labour with DD so when I have my first attack at 20 weeks thought I was losing baby or having a heart attack!!! SInce then despite the pain have gotten almost used to it and usually go to hospital for pain relief and monitoring. The other night it was the worst attack ever and I got quite frightened so was admitted into a postnatal ward. I think seeing all the tiny babies (some poorly) and hearing their cries really hit me like a bolt of lightening- I will be a Mum again to a tiny baby.

I have to say though I am feeling quite positive though at times a little sorry for myself, because I went through a difficult pregnancy with DD ( and we moved house at 8 months - why do we do that????)and she really is the most divine wonderful little girl - who slept through from 6 weeks!!! (I know amazing - and I do not expect it a second time!!!) So I know it was sooo worth it and feel it will all be worth it again. I have been surprised by how much I have enjoyed being a Mum.

Anyway I am fine - hoping to try and have a quick holiday before our little family becomes 4!

Thanks EEC and Jodiehavingababy - am definitely fine. TJuice - can not imagine riding a bike to hospital. I had a friend in my last post natal class who caught the bus and I thought that was amazing! I can not imagine being that calm!

I hope everyone was able to enjoy the sunshine today and that you are getting by...not that long to go now...

Have a great weekend and sorry for the long rambling post ...I need to go and get some sleep!

CilC · 03/05/2008 21:25
