isaidno · 08/05/2008 18:10

Just uploaded a pic of my bulging bump on my profile.

JODIEhavingababy · 08/05/2008 19:12

Blimy ISAIDNO, you are blooming now!!! It's a lovely shape, mines abit all over the place [note to self, take picture!] Also what a beautiful blanket!

How is everyone elses knitting coming along?

Peanut73 · 08/05/2008 19:33

Ooooohh, don't get me started on knitting. I have now knitted about 10 little jumpers and cardi's, a blanket, cushion covers and slippers... my poor baby is going to hate me!!

JODIEhavingababy · 08/05/2008 19:40

Gosh PEANUT, how organised of you! I'm very of all you 'doers' out there! I'm crap at anything like that!

Peanut73 · 08/05/2008 19:44

Not organised, just a knitting NERD.

I am totally addicted. When I found out I was pregnant I had to replace my wine drinking fetish (and cigarettes) with something that kept me busy doing something else with my hands. The Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino books are great value and have lots of lovely little things in them. I'll take some photos of what I've knitted so far and put them up on my profile. Then if anyone wants the pattern to any of them I can scan them and put them up too!

JODIEhavingababy · 08/05/2008 20:00

Wow, I replaced my cigarette habit with a chocolate habit (and a MN one!) Wish I'd done something abit more productive...

To see your knitting will be lovely!

pigleychez · 08/05/2008 20:11

Hi all,

Another glorious day- lets hope it lasts!

Disneystar- Any wrigles today?

Heffa- Ive had the pram in the nursery for ages.
Our wedding cake was white chocolate so we couldnt keep it- Not that it lasted that long! Everyone loved it and there was hardly a scrap left!

Isaidno- lovely bump! I was shocked at my latest pic just how preg i looked. I know it sounds odd but obvioulsy didnt see it iykwim!

Jodie- My knitting has taken a back seat lately as ive been pretty busy but im getting there slowly! Only a litle blanket- nothing too adventerous.

Well im feeling petty pissed off today.
Boss had been making digs all day about me taking "Early maternity leave". I leave next week which starts with 2 weeks annual leave then 6 weeks maternity so not really Early- plus surely thats my choice. The heat has been taking its toll and ive been strugling more at work but again more digs about how im not "massive" so cant really complain! My bump may be neat and all out front but doesnt mean i dont have a 3lb baby wriggling about in there!
aarrgghh Roll on Next thursday!!!

Sorry to rant.. DH would usually suffer it but hes out for a curry as a work colleagues leaving do.

My knitting has taken a back seat lately as ive been so busy but im slowly working on a very simple baby blanket.
Peanut- my mum bought me the Debbie Bliss- Simply baby book. It has some lovely patterns in it but all far far to complicated for me. Thankfully mum has been knitting things from it for me

purplejennyrose · 08/05/2008 20:27

Sweetkitty -just to say found your other thread (bit slow sorry!!) and am so sorry you've had it so rough - glad you're feeling a bit better and hope the doctor helps tomorrow. Your feelings re this pregnancy could have been mine...
Doula sounds like a great idea!
Hope the sunshine continues..
Dd had fab birthday, cake and singing at toddler group, picnic in park went really well and she collapsed into bed at 6.30!!!! and fell asleep in the middle of telling her teddy all about her 'appy birday'.
I'm suffering for it now but seeing physio first thing for follow up so no bad thing in a way.

Minkus · 08/05/2008 20:50

isaidno I am so envious of your lovely bump! It's so nice and taut and high, mine is big but all floppy and like jelly (guess that's what I should expect for being a bit of a heifer to start off with )

I am suffering a bit at the mo to be honest. I did post a small whine earlier but it's not the heat that's getting me down (shouldn't really complain about such lovely weather esp as my tomatoes and courgettes are doing so well!). I'm finding this pregnancy really hard going physically, and that's without anything specific like SPD to contend with. Everything just feels wrong, I'm constantly battling nausea (hyperemesis not returned thank heavens I'm not sick apart from brushing teeth) but nonetheless I'm finding that the constant battle to keep bile from spewing out is really wearing me down. I just feel so nauseous all the time. Plus my hips are aching permanently and I can't get comfy no matter how I sit or lie. My skin is itchy flaky and dry, esp on my tummy and arms so I am slathering on cream lots which in turn makes me feel sweaty! I hate my mat clothes everything I own makes me look like a jacket spud. And I've got dandruff. And a permanent runny nose. And I'm breathless all the time. And I can't bend over properly without huffing and puffing. And my sex drive has not returned in the slightest like I'd hoped, I can't bring myself to do it and I really miss that closeness with dh

It sounds so pathetic when all written down but I am feeling so fed up! I just want to feel like me, physically, again. I should feel lucky, so many women go through hell and high water to have a healthy baby and here I am moaning about being pregnant.

Sorry to whinge I'm just feeling so out of sorts and dh is prob fed up of my grumpathon (plus he's out with BIL anyway so has escaped my whining for the evening )

Kaz1967 · 08/05/2008 20:58

Accepted an offer on the house alot less than I wanted but it is to an investor who has everything set up and has promised to try and push it through it 6 weeks will go back and try and read things later hope everyone is fine and not suffering too much in the heat

sweetkitty · 08/05/2008 20:59

Evening all had written a big post but gone and lost it all

Been talking to DP about doulas and his reasoning is the money would be better spent on some practical help like getting a cleaner a day a week and getting the ironing done. I agree with him I think the doula would be brilliant for a first birth but it's the most mundane things we need a little help with.

purplejennyrose - feeling a bit better now thanks think the cold/cough is finally going and I just have the SPD to contend with which has been a nightmare today.

pigley - sorry to hear you are feeling a bit pissed off today ignore colleagues they are just jealous

isaidno - thats a great bump I must get DP to take some more of mine too

minnie - can I join you on the potty training thing, we are on Day 2 here yet to get anything actually in the potty yet, DD2 is 2.4yo nearly and a very bright girl knows exactly what's going on but somehow the connection isn't being made.

mummypig - thanks for the buggy advice, I think I am going to go with the cheap double option, DD2 is showing signs of being a good walker and to spend £400 on something you really aren't sure about is a bit mad.

CliC - days are never wasted, you are growing a baby therefore are using loads of energy even when sleeping.

Speaking of which I should be a lot more tired than I am after being up since 4.30am. Had the girls in the pool this afternoon which left me shattered with the blowing it up, filling it with water, sorting them out, getting all the toys for it, lifeguard duties, then putting it all away so much for a quiet day in the garden! Did dip my feet in though bliss. There was a 8 days old baby boy in toddlers today, was so excited I'm going to have one of them soon (well a pink one anyway).

sweetkitty · 08/05/2008 21:00

kaz - great news we did the same thing with our flat eventually sold to an investor just to get shot, didn't stop him mucking us about a bit though, make sure he sticks to the 6 weeks!

disneystar · 08/05/2008 22:21

yes pigley lots of wriggles and bumping about im relieved i know im a worrier but its a bit scary isnt it you kinda get used to the kicks.
lots of unflattering comments at the school gates today like
wow look at the size of you now are you sure its only 1
my daughter is having twins and half the size of your tummy (lucky her i think)
my bump is way out in front cannot miss it
what do they expect we are on the final hurdle now
guess i was more sensitive due to the heat baby on my bladder and quite breathless as i was late and trying to waddle faster
hope everyone else is ok and enjoying the weather

disneystar · 08/05/2008 22:25

minnie dont know if it will help but i let my lad choose his own pants this year when we did the toilet trianing he chose lightening mcqueen he just didnt want to wee them
was so proud of them showed everyone
also we used a giant egg timer to hold when he sat on the loo
time it approx to sing fav song while watching the sand go down sing faster to beat the sand he usually got so excited he had a wee without realising it then lots of praise
it worked for us maybe its worth a try
good luck
thats was good today though wasnt it how long has it been going?

MINNIE1 · 08/05/2008 23:02

Disneystar / Sweetkitty
Today was day 1, Poo in the morning and nothing after that apart from washing the cloths she wet. Like your DD SK, no connection with wee, poo = loo.. She did a poo again this evening and it didnt make the loo. Will just have to be patient and work with her. Did you put a nappy on your DD going to bed sweetkitty? Going to try the egg timer disney and see how that goes. I was only changing DD2 nappies today, wow big differance from doing two..
Glad movements are back in action again for you disney, hate when they play up like that..
SK Get the cleaner in, If this was your fist ya go with the doula. But i feel with 3 you need a little help. I know i am on to DP already about some help.. DP family would be throughing themselves at me when this babys arrives, but they go on and on about how much help they had to give me. How good they were. So this time round there will be none of that, i will pay someone to help me then listen to the comments afterwards....

Had a post earlier but it has disapeared!!

isaidno
Your bump is so the same as mine. Have a scan on Tues and going to fine out what flavor this one is.. My bets are on a girl even though this is a different pregnancy then the girls.
I should post a pic of my bump and see what ye think and have.. Put all the old wives tales to shame..

isaidno · 09/05/2008 06:31

I like comparing bumps Minnie - this is a girl, although I don't think i am carrying any different to the boys. Good luck with the potty training (and SK)!

SK - DS1 was great on the buggy board from the age of 2.5 so i'm sure you'll be fine. My problem now is DS2 loves his buggy (he is 3.3) so I have decided to go cold turkey with it. Or he will be having the baby on his lap!

Kaz - great new you sold your flat!

Disney - glad the fidgets have returned!

As for help after the birth I am relying on DH. My parents are about 1.5 hours away and the in laws about 2 hours. Tbh I do not want anyone else about - they would just wind me up because I hate being fussed over / waited on etc. Just visiting will be fine!

EEC · 09/05/2008 07:36

Disney - so glad lo is on the move again!

Kaz - figers crossed about the flat...

Minkus - I feel exactly the same, I know there are several of us who do. I HATE this pregnancy thing, then feel guilty about it! All I do is huff and puff and moan all day long. Absolutely everything is too much for me.

Have just bought a second hand Quinny Buzz with carrycot, cosy toes etc on ebay, which I need to pick up. Wish me luck that it's OK!

Minkus · 09/05/2008 08:07

EEC thank you for your words of kindness it really means a lot! I don't think anyone in rl would understand. I feel so unlike myself and it's really getting me down . Sorry that you're feeling the same, I hope we have our babies before their due dates so that we haven't got as long to go as we think.

Had some smoked fish with dinner last night and it really didn't settle well- ended up getting out of bed at 3 am to throw up, first time I've been sick apart from morning tooth brusing in a good month. Fishy sick-revolting! This morning I've got a bit of a dodgy tum so hopefully it was just that the fish didn't agree with me rather than the hyperemesis returning (it came back at 31 weeks with ds and guess what I was 31 weeks on Monday )

Well weather here is hot but wet so hopefully the rain couds will dry up and we'll get some sun later!

Good luck to all those potty training, your lo's will get there in the end.

Disney and Pigley I can't believe those comments people have made! How rude.

Purplejenny- glad your daughter had a lovely day.

Hope you are feeling better Sweetkitty.

Sorry to all those I've missed- have a good day all xx

TJuice · 09/05/2008 08:44

you bump is amazing, isaidno! its so perfect.

mine is getting wider and bigger! and my cheeks look like slapped arses dues to pigmentation. i just posted my 33 week picture with the vintage dress and red belt that came off after breakfast . . . but its not in profile so you can't see how mahooosive i am gettting. i wore yoga pants to work yesterday - so comfy!

having a leisurely morning as going straight to midwife and then rolling into work.

the whole potty-training thing - damn - sounds like a nightmare!! its so weird to think i will be sharing info about my kids poo with other mums! good luck, minnie!

i am making burgers for my neighbours and another couple this evening and now i wish i wasn't. despite an hour long massage yesterday - i had the most painful day (not sure why but my bump just . . .hurt) and my coccyx and lower back too. I really just want to mooch around in the evenings without having anything to do but i suppose i should be sociable now, while i can.

still very hot here - its so lovely.

have a great day . . .

gillythekid · 09/05/2008 09:09

Hey TJuice my bump's been hurting like hell too! Really bad pain in my coccyx and hips, turns out baba is lying head down but spine to spine. Been doing visualisations and getting into better seating positions to turn baba round, seems to be forever squirming so plenty of time but it's really uncomfortable, wonder if yours is the same?

MINNIE1 · 09/05/2008 09:42

Morning ladys

Potty training going nowhere!! But i am going to stick to it!! Already had a wee on the floor!! I have the mop attached to my wonkie hip!

RE: Bumps i dont think mine is as wide as the girls, feel this is all to the front. Will post a pic and see what ye think..

DD2 is still in bed and its 9.40am OMG She is a little star.. DD1 up since the crack of dawn!

HAd the worst night sleep ever last night twisted and turned all night!! and had to get up a few time as bump was sooo sore!

Peanut73 · 09/05/2008 10:06

Morning gals! It's meant to be a scorcher here in London today - 28 degrees!

I was concerned as my bump has been hurting too - like a mixture between period pain and pulled muscles, but I see a few others are experiencing the same thing so I'm not alone there. Think I half lay on my bump a bit in bed last night and when I sat upright it killed!

Well, I have posted some pics of my bump progress. The sex is a surprise but if any of you experts out there reckon you can guess what it is from the shape I would be intrigued!! Pics Here (hope that works!)

Disneystar - I am so pleased LO is moving again, I was a bit worried.

Pigley - Not long to go now and you won't have to give work another thought for a looooong time. They're just jealous!!

Minkus - sorry to hear this hasn't been an enjoyable pregnancy. You must feel like your body has been hijacked.

Shirking Working from home today - hurrah!

xx

TJuice · 09/05/2008 10:07

well, gilly - just got back from midwife and she is head down but i don't think spine to spine today but maybe it was yesterday (she is still wiggling).

apparently she is slightly above average in weight right now (2,4 kilos or 5 and a bit lbs) so she may be a little fatty in 7 weeks time. maybe i should stop eating so much choccie and eat more protein and broccoli and eggs and the like. my whole pregnancy diet thing is so bad these days . . .

the midwife did this internal exam and pushed her head up a little - that made my eyes water a bit. can't believe that i am going to have all these people fussing around my minky when i give birth - its so weird . . . .

TJuice · 09/05/2008 10:10

peanut - you have an "isabella oliver" bump! its model-tastic!
