I thought I'd better start another thread as the other one was full to bursting!

OP posts:

Hello!
Another one who's feeling rough. Previously I've only felt bad in the evenings but this time it can be any time of the day. I'm really craving cider ,luckily dh found me some alcohol-free pear cider and Tesco have sparkling Cox's apple juice on offer which isn't a bad substitute.

MaeWest · 26/04/2008 13:24

Peppermint tea consumed by the gallon here, as well as ginger (altho not in the same mug...)

Only queasiness here, no puking, but cooking feels like such an effort and I want to eat toast/bread & butter all the time.

When I was pg with DS I got lots of inner rage, looked calm on the outside but inside was simmering resentment. So impatient too! At the moment I just want to smack anyone smoking a fag around me as the smell really gets to me atm.

hattyyellow · 26/04/2008 14:24

Sorry to hear about all the sickiness . I've been getting slightly more waves of nausea today, which I'm finding bizarrely comforting!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one feeling a bit tetchy!

Am also entering the stage of just not knowing what I feel like eating at any time..it drove me mad last time, I'd stand there gazing at the fridge for hours and couldn't quite put my finger on what it was I needed!

Have a good weekend everybody

Have changed my due date to the doctors one, just because it puts me 2 days forward and makes me feel there's less time until 12 weeks!

I feel as if I have permanent PMT. I feel the tears welling at the slightest thing - nice things as well as bad - eg today DS1 giving me a piece of cheese to eat because he thought I looked hungry. Last weekend I watched Dead Poet's Society (hadn't seen it in years) and bawled my eyes out at the end.

My sickness really varies day by day. Some days I feel sick all day others just in the background. I have huge respect for those of you coping with vomiting and constant sickness.

I struggle with cooking as well - especially my sons' tea in the evening. I have to chew mint humbugs while I am cooking. I might end up with no teeth at the end of this...

Disenchanted I hope your granny's tea party is going well today!

artichokes · 26/04/2008 20:02

Evening all

It seems nausea/sickness has suddenly hit almost everyone. Last night i woke up at about 3am and realised that for the first time in days I didn't feel sick at all. I just lay there for about 15 minutes appreciating the feeling and then I fell asleep again. This morning it was all back with avengence.

We told DH's parents today. They were excited for about 30 seconds and then changed the subject . We thought they would be over the moon and would want to talk about it non-stop. We had even built an extra 30 minutes into our schedule for the morning just to deal with their questions. Oh well. Apparently their plans for their garden are more interesting.

I hope you all have good evenings. DH is cooking pasta and then we are going to watch our recording of this week's Apprentice.

msdynamo · 26/04/2008 21:10

Hello everyone, I new on this thread. I'm almost 6 weeks, due December 20th. Following on from what someone said earlier, I am not at all serene and have been really irritable. I lose my temper at the slightest thing. Poor BF got an earful today. Luckily he's very patient.

Anyone else hard to be around?

LittlePeanut · 26/04/2008 21:34

Hi all.

Welcome to all the newcomers.

Is anyone else finding that time is reeeeeaaaaaalllly dragging? I am 6 weeks + 5, found out I was pregnant 2 and a half weeks ago. The longest 2 and a half weeks of my LIFE!

I know I shouldn't wish the time away, but I just can't wait to:

a) have the first scan and know that all is well
b) Tell my family and friends (which I won't be comfortable doing until after the first scan) and TALK about it with someone other than DH.
c) Stop having to deceive everyone about drinking etc., it's such hard work!

LittlePeanut · 26/04/2008 21:36

Ooh hello msdynamo - I am completly the same as you - it's like having extreme PMT. I have been slightly better for the last couple of days, but about a week ago I was an absolute psycho. Poor DH!

mibbes · 26/04/2008 23:05

welcome msdynamo, congrats !
LittlePeanut I am with you on all 3 - I am itching to know all is well and even more desperate to talk to people about it. I have so many questions I want to ask PG friends/mums like did you have a belly at 7/8 weeks ?! Hurry up 12 week scan - have 2 weeks and 5 days to wait !
artichokes am and inlaws reaction ! I hope we get a bit more interest than that !

msdynamo · 26/04/2008 23:16

Hello again everyone,

I was supposed to go out to a dinner party with BF tonight but opted out because a) I didn't want to be really fussy about the food, b) I don't know the people all that well and c) don't want to have to lie all night about not drinking etc, and then be falling asleep at 10.30. So I'm home alone . Like you LittlePeanut I can't wait for 12 weeks to pass so I can tell people and be honest about it and celebrate!

southernbelle77 · 27/04/2008 06:32

Morning all! I went out last night but didn't really enjoy myself. I drove so didn't have to explain the non drinking, but felt nauseous and tired the whole time! Being tucked up in bed would have been preferable!!

I agree with all those that are moody and irritable! I'm really trying to be patient but sometimes I have very little!

And I agree with the time going really slowly. I'm sure it did when I was pg with dd as well, but I don't remember it like this! And I don't remember being so 'worried' about things going wrong. I suppose that is because I had no first hand experience of things going wrong at the time which I do now.

Thank god for MN so we can all talk to each other about it all!

Verso · 27/04/2008 06:55

Yep, moody and irritable here too . We went to my DD's best friend's party yesterday - about twenty 3 year olds running about in a soft play area and lots of parents I don't know yet (we've recently moved house). I had to go outside for a few minutes because I was finding it all a bit much and didn't want to snap at anyone. Sigh.

I've started getting a bit of a bump too, and I wish it was 12 weeks so I could get my maternity clothes out properly rather than trying to hide it (unsuccessfully I might add!).

kayzisexpecting · 27/04/2008 07:11

Morning all,

I'm not that moody but very weepy some stuff.
But I am fed up of waking up at half 5 in the morning.

I also agree that time is going really slowly, December feels years away.

I haven't got a bump but I am bloated so look like I have a bump.

BeckyBendyLegs · 27/04/2008 09:27

Talking of waking early... Does anyone else have the same problem? I can't say awake beyond 9.30pm at night (fell asleep watching Roman Holiday on DVD last night) so I go to bed around then and sleep like a log until about 4am (except for two visits to the loo) and then toss and turn and sometimes find myself wide awake at about 5am for about an hour and a half, finally dropping off only to be woken up by two DSs wanting their breakfast.

kayzisexpecting · 27/04/2008 09:33

Yeah that sounds like me. I can't stay awake in the evening then wake up really early. I never get back to sleep though.

MrsMattie · 27/04/2008 11:25

Morning all. Yesterday was the first day in a month I haven't felt sick all day long, so I took advantage of the good weather and hung out with DS in the garden all day. Twas bliss. I wasn't sick once and even managed a cup of tea at about 4pm (the smell of tea has made me instantly vomit up until now...)

Miraculously, today I have also woken up feeling very slightly nauseous, but better than in aaaaages - well enough to contemplate going out for brunch and doing some housework (beats lying on the sofa with a bowl to be sick in, which has been my default position for ages now!). Could this be a turn for the better? I'm 9+1 now, so maybe my body is getting used to the hormones or something...

I can relate to all the funny sleep patterns / peeing in the night business. I'm twice a night to use the loo (didn't have this until much further along with DS), and am sleeping from about 9.30pm until 3.30am deeply, then very lightly from 3.30 until about 7.30, when I fall back into a deep sleep only to have DS jump on my head and say he wants his cornflakes...

march29 · 27/04/2008 11:50

hi guys, can i jloin, i got a bfp last week and should be due on 25th dec. have a gp appointment on tues so will be more sure then. it will be dc#2 for me too.

mummy2olivia · 27/04/2008 12:38

Hi everyone!!!

Had a bit of a break cos sometimes MN gives me a feeling of impending doom....

All well here EXCEPT no symptoms.

You would have thought I'd be happy but all I have is tender boobs and an achey pelvis. Thats it. And I'm gutted!! Not 6 weeks til Wednesday though (so am 5+4) Is it just to early for symptoms like MS?

God don't complain m2o!

MrsMattie the early pg hormones can make you go to the loo loads too. I don't seem to be so bad this time but with ds I needed to pee all the time for the first weeks, had a couple of weeks break then ds started getting big enough to press on my bladder and off I went again! Used to have to plan a 15 min walk to the library via the lecture theatres half way there to use the loos What am I going to do this time when I've graduated and can't use them anymore!

I have morning mouth all day. Fun fun.

hattyyellow · 27/04/2008 13:24

This thread is such a relief. Was so worried last night that I was having triplets this time as my tummy was soooo bloated!

Also got the funny sleep patterns, I keep waking up early too and find it hard to get back to sleep even though I'm shattered.

The whole first trimester is going so horribly slowly. Really trying to focus on my booking in appt in 3 and a half weeks and then hopefully I should have a scan date.

Mummy2Olivia I'm also worried about the no symptoms! I get so excited every time I feel a bit nauseous (huge apologies to those struggling with ms) - because I feel reasssured. I am a bit tired and I have achey calves and bloating but I feel so normal apart from that and am nervous something has gone wrong.

Will try not to complain too much!
