Sazzles I want the no sleeves kind just like from the Next's website. The UK seems to be flooded with them but the US....not so much. I've not checked every where yet. They aren't something I NEED just something I WANT so I'll probably just do without if I can't find them locally (and for a reasonable price.)

IlanaK I totally understand the pressure all over thing. This little one is rearranging my insides. Added the name Saul to your stats. Good choice .

BBQ Party was AWESOME!! We all enjoyed ourselves. DD feel asleep on the way home and I'm just going to let her sleep on until tomorrow if she will. She played HARD!!! Baby kicked/smacked me the whole time. Obviously she wanted to play too.

NIGHTY NIGHT

BabiesRUs shopping complete. Only purchased one other item, a baby sleep sac. I had it picked out in my registry so I went ahead and got it. I'll drive out to the local BabiesRUs store tomorrow (or sometime this week) and see if they have other sleeveless styles in the store. However, I don't recall seeing them the last time I was there.

Sazzles enjoy your brief rest. I'm going to shut my laptop and read my new pregnancy mag. DD is still out cold (8:30PM here). Hopefully she have a restful night.

Night...again.

Morning all - sazz you don't do yourself justice at all - you ARE lovely in all your wedding photos, and your wee one is a wee cracker too

farking hellish night in dixie household, dd1 puked all over herself and the bed (rightup the walls and down behind bed too - blurgh) at about 10pm so had to get her up, stripped, cleaned off and into our bed, surrounded by towels

dh sent text at 21:19 saying he wasn't finishing at 22:00 as had been called out on a job, got home at 03:30

dd2 woke up at 5am and that was her, needless to say am shattered and washing machine is about to walk out in disgust.

girls fed and bathed and taken to nursery, dh up and away to dentist before court then working till 6pm so I have had a well deserved bacon butty and am contimplating going back to bed

does anyone else ever wish they weren't always at the bottom of the food chain in the household?!?!?

sorry me me me me me whinge over

cyteen · 21/04/2008 09:35

Blimey dizzy, that sounds like a right palaver. Dr Cyteen prescribes an immediate return to bed and some saucy dreams about your lust figure of choice.

Sazz you look totally gorge in your wedding photos - I love your dress, simple and elegant (although slightly disappointed about the lack of bonnet and crook).

Buckets (was it you? sorry, am typing from memory) am v of your hilarious study sex...my libido has returned but unfortunately at the same time as lovely preggy thrush. I am working to rid myself of the latter as am going away with DP this weekend

dizzydixies · 21/04/2008 09:38

cyteen I will do just that as soon as the washing machine finishes, in the mean time down to serious business lady - names

whats your style, what do you like, no siblings to match with are easier but do you have a bizarre surname I should be warned about lol, any names you love but can't use due to friends/relatives using them already?!? you need to give me a starting point

am very over you weekend away - we at least both have sat off so if weather is nice might manage to do something then

cyteen · 21/04/2008 09:58

Name business! Well, the baby is getting both our surnames, each of which is 3 syllables. They roll together nicely but there's a lot of Ns and Ls. Also, mine will be first and it can make certain names sound like a command

I think I might ask if we can use my brother's name (Simon) as a middle name, I really like it as a name anyway but could never give it to my child - too weird. Ben and Dan are also out (DP's friends).

At the moment we both like Alexander, but I'm damned if I'm deciding on a name now and missing out on months of wrangling!

IlanaK · 21/04/2008 10:14

Oh no Dizzy - what an aweful night! You have my sympathies. My two are rarely sick, but my eldest was in bed once (and on the floor etc) and it was yuck! My ds2 was sick in someone else's car this weekend who was driving us home - total embarrassment! He is rarely sick, but was sitting in the back of three rows of seats and I think it made him car sick.

Sounds like you might need a day of crashing out on the sofa while the kids create havoc around you!

dizzydixies · 21/04/2008 10:39

Ilanak its certainly made me think twice about my idea for bunk beds - maybe in a few more years

ok, am off for a rest and to get down to some serious naming business - cyteen and alexander and libbysister for theodore!

Shazza2002 · 21/04/2008 12:42

Afternoon ladies.

Can I say afternoon? I've gobbled my lunch so that makes it afternoon for me . Gobble, now there's a word that always makes me chuckle

Somebody was taking the micky out of my vest fettish, my thinking is I have about 12 in each size so I don't have to worry about getting them washed, as enough to last nearly two weeks. Plus they were only 3 for £1.75 in Tesco, absolute bargain, plus with DD I found the Tesco ones were really good quality. Right, have I justified myself yet?. Oh yeah, there's my OCD thing and odd numbers. 3 packs of each would have been adequate but that's odd so that's why I ended up with 4 of most the sizes.

Prams - No pictures anywhere of new colours, it really is silly considering they have them in their new catalogue. You would think the website would have been updated before this.

Holiday - We have booked to go on Sat 3rd May to Majorca for a week. Really thinking a bit of sun will lift these blues I've been having. Or at least it will until I've been and come back

Sorry you've had a crap night Dizzy - At about 10pm last night DP and I were having a very good time, so maybe my very good time made up for your very bad time

CaptainCaveman · 21/04/2008 12:52

Hey gang!! Did you miss me? (what do you mean who are you?)

Ds was away at Grandmas so saturday and sunday were spent putting his new bed together and shifting his stuff into his new bedroom. Computer was offline as this has now been moved into ds' old bedroom.
Ds cried when he went to bed last night because his new room doesn't have winnie the pooh wallpaper - took 30 mins for him to calm down! jeez, you do a nice thing and all you get is tantrums in return

I am ball-achingly knackered today - combination of busy weekend and shite sleep last night. Am really struggling to stay awake at work at the moment.

Also have a pile of washing and ironing to get through and have nothing to wear tomorrow if I don't do it tonight. Oh woe is me.........

PetitFilou1 · 21/04/2008 13:21

Hello all
Haven't time to catch up with the pages and pages but hope you're all well - moving at the end of this week. Have spent most of the weekend in tears and/or shouting at dh -am exhausted and behaving like a 3 year old.

dizzy I noticed your requirements re a pram - surely what you are looking for is a Phil and Ted? Have you looked at those? Not cheap but does all the things you want I think.

Will be back in a few days I expect - with matchsticks propping open my eyelids...

PetitFilou1 · 21/04/2008 13:22

and ps sorry about your bad night - lucky there are no emetophobes on the thread or they would be backing away!

Shazza2002 · 21/04/2008 14:16

Oh yeah, forgot to say TS. As you so kindly helped me out with shipping before, I would be more than happy to send stuff over to you if needed

poppysocks · 21/04/2008 15:15

Afternoon all! Glad all is generally well. (Sorry to hear about your terrible night Dizzy).

Haven't been around much as I've been rather inexplicably down in the dumps. Keep reminding myself that my life is exactly as I would, objectively, most hope. I am very lucky.

However....

Work is just rubbish. Feeling totally unappreciated. I've surpassed all of my KPIs this year and broke new ground in my line of work in Scotland and made waves across the whole of the UK. All my boss did was send an e-mail around the department with a link to the press release, saying FYI. Some sort of appreciation would have been nice (so says the diva).

Have also heard back from my parents about using my sister's name for this DD. My Mum said she'd love the name to be used again as she likes it so much and as a teacher is used to meeting lots of children with that name that aren't hers. My Dad just said that it was our decision but... and listed a whole load of potential problems (all of which we'd already discounted). Didn't actually say no but in some ways that's what upsets me more as he never opens up. That's a WHOLE other issue though!

So... We really are on the look-out for a name. Georgia and Alexandra are the only ones that DH has said he'd consider but neither feel right. Love them both, but not sure on what we'd use every day. Hmmm.

Finally... (I promise) having a crisis over the planned c-section. Feel like I'm copping out as the consultant said that I could go for a natural birth, although it would be v. monitored and more likely to end up as a c-section. Objectively, I know it's ridiculous, but I sort of feel that I should suffer and that I'm being selfish. All of this is compounded by the fact that I'm unlikely to breastfeed (will certainly try again, but have promised myself that I won't push myself as much as last time as it took me ages to get over the guilt of the failure. Also, really didn't enjoy it at all). See - that final statement is selfish. Hmmm.

Sorry for that self-centred moan. Will stop emptying all that's in my head onto you ladies and leave you in peace. If you've made it to the end of the post though - thank you for listening!

Any names thoughts though Dizzy, or anyone else? What girls' names are you thinking of Dizzy?

poppysocks · 21/04/2008 15:16

How . Sorry for such a mammouth post. Will keep quiet now....

PetitFilou1 · 21/04/2008 15:22

Awww poppy don't beat yourself up - re c section and b/f - do what works for you and sod everyone else. Your baby will not remember which way they came out or whether they had boob or bottle - I promise! Whilst I am pro b/f it isn't worth killing yourself over. And better that your baby has a happy mother rather than one who is making herself miserable trying to do the right thing. Do try again though - you have Ilana to talk to!

If you used Georgia - it would be Georgie or Alexandra - just Alex (tends to be what happens). I've a friend who has a Georgia, a Felix and a Pollyanna.....

PetitFilou1 · 21/04/2008 15:24

and ps yes work should have made more of that so I think you are right to be diva - ish in that regard! Do they do 360 feedback where you work as if so perhaps you could point that out to your boss!

poppysocks · 21/04/2008 15:30

Thanks pf. No feedback structure in place at work. No real structures at all actually. Great as it means you can get away with murder, if you so wish, but also means that good things aren't recognised either. Can't have it both ways I suppose!

Buckets · 21/04/2008 16:43

Hi PS
I've bottled out of VBAC, was going to give myself the chance with a 40wk planned CSec but am now going for it as early as they'll let me. Have decided the convenience of planned childcare and excuse for not hoovering etc outweigh the risks, driving ban and potential long recovery .
Re the breastfeeding, I hated every minute of it (lasted a week) but that's because I wasn't doing it right. This time I'm going to be on the NCT BF counsellor's doorstep as soon as I can - despite it being natural and what we're made for, most of us need expert help and that's nothing to feel guilty about.
