Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

lol. No but she really did positively glow! Perfect skin,, hair, full of energy, wonderful healthy appetite, no little bits of colds or swollen legs, tummy troubles, not anything.

pinkyminky · 14/04/2008 16:51

Juanitad- yummy! I've eaten about four packets of quavers and half a packet of marmite rice cakes this weekend.

Pinkali37 · 14/04/2008 16:56

Me too Lolabella - I'm 9wk 4 days today although symptoms started getting better about 1 week ago (but had scan exactly one week ago and everything was fine). My boobs really don't hurt anymore (although they really weren't that bad in the first place). If i press the side they hurt a little but like I put earlier my chest and boobs still look like the national grid of blue veins (LOVELY ) I feel a little funny with some foods, and have no idea what i'd like for tea which is quite unusual for me who would normally have planned tea before getting out of bed in the morning! So it can be normal for symptoms to disappear... phewww.... I think my levels must be settling down. I realyl don't feel pregnant, it's a strange feeling. A bit like no mans land. All aches have gone (apart from on Sat when I had a pain but decided it was wind lol)

mad4mybaby · 14/04/2008 17:03

i really hate being a 'baby' (the end of the list! i feel so far behind those of you that are like 11 weeks! Cant wait to get to double figures (all you other 'babies' pls feel free to agree!!) must be great getting nearer to 12 weeks. im 8 weeks tomorrow.

I hate people like that, that dont suffer! Just jealous actually!

dozymare · 14/04/2008 17:06

We ar OBSESSED with food ont his thread!!

I have just had 3 picked onions......yummy yummy yum!!

dozymare · 14/04/2008 17:08

also would just like to add I remember reading earlier that once you see/hear a heartbeat at past 8 weeks your chances of having a baby are something like 98%...so for all those worriers (myself included!) hang on to that statistic!!!!

I was just about to go to the shop for tea when I red your post Dozy so now I will have to buy pickles too. DH hates me I love pickled eggs too!!! You are right we are obsessed

Pinkali37 · 14/04/2008 17:10

I am just loving peanut butter in brown bread squashed down, cheese and tomato sandwiches with mature cheddar and I want spaghetti bolognaise every night for tea! I think DH will get cross if i suggest it again tonight but i've already taken the micne out of the freezer

pinkyminky · 14/04/2008 17:14

Pink, what is is with the squashing thing? I ALWAYS have to squash a banana butty, and those cheese and crisp butties that no-one ever admits to eating

Pinkali37 · 14/04/2008 17:15

Oh i love squashing it. Ooh cheese and tomato sandwich with salt and vingear crisps in and then squashed. It makes the crisps fit better in the sandwich and the mouth.

pinkyminky · 14/04/2008 17:57

I like mine with a bit of HP sauce, too.
You are right, we are food obsessed.
mad4 yes I know what you mean. She did get that awful post-natal arthrrtis thing for a while though, which is awful. At least I feel great once the baby is born!

tegan · 14/04/2008 18:06

good news ladies my ms seems to have subsided and i can eat again.

I had 4 pizzas for dinner and then 2 packets of scampi fries, i love being pg.

SoExcited · 14/04/2008 18:22

Hi all,

I've just spent about an hour catching up?! TF - still can't quite believe your story - Congrats!!

I'm 9+2 and have definitely felt less queasy for the last 5 days or so. I'm managing to go 3 hours between food rather than 2.

But, I also seem to be putting on weight (about 5lbs). I thought it was supposed to take ages with a first baby, but I feel really thick round the waist and can't stand tight waistbands, so have given up and have started wearing the maternity jeans my sis leant me.

I've got 2 weeks to wait until my scan - I told them I needed an earlier appointment as I do risky activities in my job (rock climbing, sailing) and they gave me one for 11+2 instead of 14!

Nice to hear lots of people starting to feel a little better, if a little fat?!

lackaDAISYcal · 14/04/2008 18:59

I managed to eat some tea tonight...fried pototoes with ham, onions, tomato, and.......cheese

last few mouthfuls that I suppose I gorced down came right back up five minutes later , but I feel soooooooo much better, even after throwing up. This whole pregnancy thing is weird, huh?

mad4mybaby · 14/04/2008 19:04

sorry to change the subject..

-pinkyminky- can you tell me your skin routine now and what you use? Im using boots witch hazel and tea tree face wash, cleanser and the moisterisor (sp) If i bought some benzol thingy magij what other products should i use with it?

tegan · 14/04/2008 19:25

mad4 I have read something about rubbing creams into belly and boobs, what is that all about? and which creams should i be using

mad4mybaby · 14/04/2008 19:29

tegan, do you mean my last post to pinky? If so that is about acne!

On the other hand if not, i use bio oil. I used it from first trimester with ds and my belly got huge and got not one stretch mark there. The only place i got them was the top of my bum where i didnt rub it in as i didnt know you could get stretch marks there! Silly naive me! I get mine on ebay. Or cocoa butter is good. I use palmers but the shops own brands are as good. Def good idea to start rubbing alllll over.

tegan · 14/04/2008 19:40

thanks i maight have to get some on the weekend

mad4mybaby · 14/04/2008 19:43

alot of people think there isnt any point but i def do. It can also help prevent getting itchy skin later on. Still grosses me out thinking about all the skin stretching thats going to happen again! All in a good cause!

ceebee74 · 14/04/2008 20:01

Evening all - just checking in as it has been a while since I last posted.

Juanitad - Cheddars really hit the spot with me. Our vending machine at work has salt and vinegar flavour ones which are just delicious!

Still feeling nauseous on and off - DH is 'working' from home (but he hasn't actually got any work to do as he starts a new job in a couple of weeks so is just killing time whilst he serves his notice) so he has been great at looking after DS while I lounge around being pathetic

Mad4 - I feel exactly like you do being the 'baby' of the group. Everyone else seems so much further ahead than we do!

I have also told quite a few people - close family, a couple of colleagues and friends. I plan on telling my boss this week when she gets back from holiday - just the sort of news she will want to come back to I am sure Am useless at keeping secrets tbh.

Talking of saggy skin...I am concerned (in a vain way!) 3 stone overweight from 2 previous DC plus hormone problems in the form of underactive thyroid and PCOS. Really worried I am going to end up the size of a bus....has anyone ever followed a diet whilst PG? Before falling I was on metformin (quite controversial to be prescribed this for PCOS as it is a diabetic drug) which really helped and the weight was shifting...can't take it when PG though!

dozymare · 14/04/2008 20:04

alsohas anyone heard from oblomov? She was really worried last week and upset and I haven't seen her on here since.....

lackaDAISYcal · 14/04/2008 20:11

dozy, if you just make sure you eat healthily then excess weight gain shouldn't be a problem. Ask your MW or GP though for advice. I know that the Slimming World diet has pregnancy recommendations and is quite good as it's an overall healthy eating plan rather than a calorie controlled diet iyswim.

Oblomov · 14/04/2008 20:14

Dozy, I am here. Thank you my hansome', for enquiring. I am o.k.
Gp was useless. They do not know why I am in pain. And I have given up now, and am just getting on with it.
How are you ?
I went to my mil for the weekend. Had such a nice time. Ds has bad tummy bug and has been sick, violently, yellow bile for the last 2 days.
Has taken my mind of all my pain and discomfort

dozymare · 14/04/2008 20:21

good to hear from you oblomov....and poor you dealing with a poorly DS! Is he feeling better now? are you??

I am ok - had a really really bad day yesterday where I was utterly convinced I had lost the baby as have no symptoms at all......HOwever, last night my tummy felt hard and PG as if it was a message from somewhere reassuring me.

My problem is, I am a huge control freak and the fact that this is out of my control freaks me out......

However, as you say, what can we do?? Nothing
