Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

Shattered, couldn't sleep lastnight.

Still waiting for an appointment to come though fore my dating scan. Have first appointment with midwife today at 2.15.

Won't be online till about 4 though as have lots of running round to do!

Heartmum2Jamie · 14/04/2008 09:18

Lolabella, don't worry, hearing the placenta is good! It could be that baby was hiding behind it or very nearby, when hearing so much noise (your own HB, the whoosing from the placenta ect), it can be very easy to miss the HB of such a small person! Try at different times of the day, sometimes a full bladder helps, others say an empty bladder is better. If no joy, try having a drink or something to eat or even just walk around for a bit to encourage baby to move. Or, if you are a worrier, put it away for another week before trying again!

I really don't feel pregnant in the slightest and can't feel my belly hardening at all, even when lying down (I think this is strange as I am on my 3rd). I am definately changing shape though, but it's all soft and squidgy. Also, no guesses about me pregnant here either . Either no one is paying attention or I still look "normal".
Oh well, scan is in 10 days and then I can tell everyone!! Woohoo!

HI All,

Twinkling - OMG !!!!

Tammy - I am so sorry.

Right So i really do not feel pregnant AT ALL. Boobs are not even that sore or tender! Am today 9 wk 4days and had scan one week ago where all showed it was fine (following being scared by mw) BUT i feel even less pregnant now. Has anyone else lost the tenderness in their boobs? I know it can happen but sods law it happens to me!

dozymare · 14/04/2008 09:39

Pinkali read my post of yesterday morning!!! Exactly the same as you as in don't feel PG anymore....we are also about the same give or take a few days so I can think we can say it's maybe the signs of early pregnancy disappearing (not that I had many to start with) The good thing is that we both had scans, and both saw heartbeats which is very very good in terms of outcome.......I was quite low yesterday but feel much more positive today!!

Pinkali37 · 14/04/2008 09:43

Thanks dozymare... it is good to hear that other people feel similar. Sometimes all i see is that people have sore boobs and I'm thinking yikes mine feel really good. If i press the sides they hurt very slightly but that's it. I bought a very comfy maternity bra from mothercare on saturday and felt like a fake getting measured. I really feel like i'm conning myself that i'm pregnant. I should feel lucky that i feel good. Still get really tired though around 4pm but then pick up at around 8pm (which is better than a few weeks ago when i could have slept from 2pm onwards until the morning).

toolly · 14/04/2008 10:57

Hello everyone,
It's good to catch up but there has been some heart breaking news on here too.
Thinking of you all whose pregnancies haven't gone to plan.
Finally got round to seeing the docs. ( I have just moved) She referred me for an early dating scan in two weeks!
Bit nervous because I took some antibiotics that are strictly contraindicated in pregnancy in Feb, before I knew I was PG so quite worried about what's happened. Everything is so slow around here. Nobody has mentioned seeing a midwife yet. I guess they think I am an old hand. But I got pregnant with my first two DC abroad so I'm not automatically sure about what should happen.
Starting to look at seven seater cars now!

Pinkali37 · 14/04/2008 11:03

Hi tooly - When are you due?

I am sure that the antibiotics will not have done anything. A lot of people are still smoking drinking etc. before they realise they are pregnant. I am on Enrythromycin (can never spell it) permanently for my skin but the consultant knew I was ttc and said they were perfectly safe during pregnancy (but this doesn't stop me worryng). Fingers crossed that your scan will show good news.

pinkyminky · 14/04/2008 11:05

Sorry for your news, Manyhats. Big hugs.

pinkyminky · 14/04/2008 11:06

Hi Pinkali, just wanted to say mine don't feel sore anymore, either. It seems to come and go. Still feel sick though.

Pinkali37 · 14/04/2008 11:11

Hi Pinky. I feel much better nausea wise although still a little strange with some foods. MUSHROOMS should be illegal!!! hee hee. We went to a game fair in Derbyshire yesterday and I couldn't get enough of salt and vinegar hula hoops and also chips with tomato ketchup.

toolly · 14/04/2008 11:34

Hi Pnkali37. Well acording to LMP 11th November, but I have an odd cycle so I reckon I am probably due a week later. It's better for me to get an accurate dating scan because I have a tendency to go overdue and I can resist the subtle pressure to have an induction if I know the acutual length of the pregnancy rather than the date of my last period. Does that make sense?

Tinkerisdead · 14/04/2008 12:20

wow, just logged on and seen Twinkling's amazing news. what a fantastic heartwarming story.

TammyC - so sorry for your sad news.

ive tried not to log on as it sees to make the days whiz past if im not on focusing on my pregnancy. I still have received a scan date and im 10 weeks today. Still have my NT scan on the 3rd May so im hoping all is well in there. Morning sickness is starting to subside which is heavenly. Cant face foods but the constant nausea is easing up.

cricri · 14/04/2008 13:51

Manyhatson So sorry to hear your news.I also had a mmc last year and it's devastating Take care of yourself and pop in on the MC Avengers thread (under conception) if you need some support at this difficult time.
Just had my booking in appt with CMW and all went well with the paperwork, blood forms etc. I told her I was anxious ahead of my scan next week and she offered to listen to the baby's hb, but obviously said there was no guarantee of finding it at such an early stage (I'm 11 wks today). However, she did find it, fleetingly, and also said that the uterine arteries were v strong so she said there was a 50/50 chance that all is well Not completely reassuring, but hopefully enough to get me through until next Monday.
Hope everybody else is OK today - I know we've had a few wobbles recently but we're getting towards the magic 12 week point now so fingers crossed all will be fine at the scans etc.

lackaDAISYcal · 14/04/2008 13:56

afternoon. Still feeling blardy awful here. I'm gently sipping some Fenteman's ginger bear and trying not to heave at the smell of DD's lunch (that working from home today DH is thoughtfully feeding her)

Really try not to get too hung up on the symptoms (or lack thereof). Every woman and every pregnancy is different. Also, different symptoms occur due to a rise/fall of particular hormones needed for that particular stage of development so it diesn't necessarily mean things are going wrong.

With my DS the only thing I had were sore boobs for the first eight weeks, then uber sensitive nipples for a while (I was on site daily through the winter, and boy did they hurt when it was really cold!!). With DD I had everything that nature could throw at me until past 20 weeks, but had a strange lull in symptoms around 9.5 weeks.

Still no scan date here . I'm going to call the hospital and see what's going on!

Pinkali37 · 14/04/2008 13:56

Crici - Pleased the mw managed to locate the heartbeat. I think for her to say it's 50/50 is a little harsh and worrying. A heartbeat is a very good sign. they say that at 8 weeks if you have a heartbeat (BABY) then there is less that 3% chance of anything going wrong.

Sounds like your PEA is a strong little thing and long may it continue.

Pregnancy is one big worry. Every little thing worries me and I know that can't be healthy. Was discussing with Dozymare earlier that all my symptoms have gone (well apart from not wanting some stuff to eat) but my boobs don't feel tender anymore and that's worrying me. AGGHHh will it ever stop?

Pinkali37 · 14/04/2008 13:58

Thanks Lacksadaisy, it nice to hear from people who have had previous pregnancies because of course us first timers really haven't a clue!! So I am 9 wk 4 days and loss of boob tenderness is ok you think? I will hang on that. My scan is in 3 weeks so these are going to be such long weeks ahead.

Ash80 · 14/04/2008 14:00

Hi all,

Felt very sick today actually vomitted , also been having brownish spotting for the last couple of days...Anyone else had this.

Pinkali37- i too am on erthryomycin and Zinc (zinyert) for my skin. was a bit worried but reassured that its is safe to take during pregnancy.

pinkyminky · 14/04/2008 14:03

Oh yes Pinkali, symptoms come and go, also you can look more bumpy on some days than others.
Toolly, I am on number three and we too are on the hunt for a bigger car!

lackaDAISYcal · 14/04/2008 14:04

blardy bunch of incompetents. An appointment has been made for me on 21st. It would've been nice to have had some word about it before now. Luckily DH works from home on a Monday as he can't change his schedule very easily.

Am a bit (what would've happened if I hadn't called them?), but also at seeing the bean next week and finding out a proper EDD

pinkyminky · 14/04/2008 14:12

Glad you got your date,Daisy.Next week, how exciting! I'm going in on wednesday. My poor mum is going to have to get over here to babysit for 9:30 and it's quite a drive in rush hour. I was very relieved the MW gave me my scan date at my booking in appointment, the NHS letters can be terminally slow! Shouldn't really knock it though. MY sis lives is Australia and the cost of antenatal care is astronomical.

Heartmum2Jamie · 14/04/2008 14:21

Yay Daisy, I am glad you have a date but how flippin terrible that they haven't let you know before now, Grrr!

Pinkali37 · 14/04/2008 14:21

Ooh i've just been naughty. I've telephoned my midwife and asked if she can move my scan date forward and she said yes. So now it is hopefully next Wednesday so i will be 11wk on the thursday. I've just told dh that they telephoned me as he thinks i'm worrying too much. OOPS... also received my mw appointment which is 11.20 on monday so i am happier now.

lackaDAISYcal · 14/04/2008 14:37

my appointment is at 9am as well, so rush hour to contend with here too. We'll have to drop DS off at a mates or something before school, and just take DD with us. Means I'll miss waterbabies again (for the third week in a row), but I'd rather have the scan thanks!

The letter will arrive on Friday probably...or next Monday!

I've just ordered an outfit to wear to a christening at the beginning of May (am Godmother so need to look the part). I hate this stage of pregnancy as I just look like I've been eating too many pies rather than pregnant and clothes are sooo difficult. I got a bargain skirt from Crave maternity (£55 reduced to £16), but it's under bump style and I'm worried I'll look a bit silly in it with my lardy CS overhang hanging loose as it were. Am looking for a longline cardigan to go over the whole lot to hide the rolls of lard.

mad4mybaby · 14/04/2008 14:40

afternoon guys. i got my 12 week scan date (will actually be 13) when i went for my early scan last week, i asked the guy and he said yes!

Lacka, know exactly what you mean. Im, in maternity jeans but not tops so now my tops show my belly! Maternity tops are to saggy round the belly so just look fat! Also my bump band is still too small no unless i fold it over and over and wear on my hips which defeats the object!

mad4mybaby · 14/04/2008 14:42

sorry, those of you using zineryt, were you usinng before pg or had used in past? Just wondering if its worth getting some from my gp. Used it a year or so ago and it didnt work for me, wondering if now being pg my skin may react differently to it? Or am i just clutching at straws?
