Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

Great news from all the scans - fantastic!

HM2J - I am glad to hear that you are not going to abandon us for the October thread (although you know you are going to get some pressure from a certain other MNer don't you? )

I can't believe so many scans are coming up - am I the only one left with a due date at the end of November??

pinkyminky · 24/04/2008 20:19

Good luck to all with scans tomorrow. Don't worry, ceebeee I'm sure there will be a few of us still waiting for babies to arrive when yours is due-if DS was anything to go by!

Heartmum2Jamie · 24/04/2008 20:34

LOL Ceebee, I am fully expecting the pressure when she returns from her hols!! She can try, but I like it here!

Hi all, back from my tour of Scotland (visit to see my nieces in Edinburgh. Up to Aberdeen to see DD's Granny and Granddad, then a car tour with DH around the west coast and finally home to good old Caithness (really really far north))

We left DD with Granny and Grandad for 3 nights and 4 days, to go on our tour. Was the first time we had been parted for so long. But it went ok. She seemed to have fun and didn't ask after me too much, should I be upset by that? Na! Better that she was happy.

I have had 2 bleeds since we left, both very scary at the time, but both stopped after a day or so. My sickness comes and goes but is still defo there so I am just hoping and praying that so is my little bean.
Got my scan tommorrow lunchtime, so will be on here tommorrow night to share the good or bad news.
I am fearing the worst, after 2 bleeds, but hoping for the best. This is truly horrible place to be, the not knowing is killing!!

LolaBella · 24/04/2008 21:25

Good luck for tomorrow Twinkling i will be thinking about you and praying your little one is a fighter xx

Lolis · 24/04/2008 21:35

Congrats on more scans, it's such an exciting read on here these days! It's so nice to log on and read people's good news, and get more excited and positive about my own hopefully good news next week!

I think I found my uterus today...I felt just above the pubic bone and it feels hard and balloony there. I got really really excited - then worried that pressing it might hurt the baby! Would it?

Lolis · 24/04/2008 21:37

Good luck for tomorrow Twinkling I hope everything's okay.

Lolis · 24/04/2008 21:43

Good Luck to all of you that have your scans today. It realyl is an exciting time.

Re nuchal scan thingy, my sister had hers done in London at 12 weeks.

Now down to being stupid, how on earth can i get mys can photos onto computer???

Creena · 25/04/2008 09:40

Morning all! What an excellent day it was for scans yesterday! Congratulations to everyone! We're on a roll now, I know it!

I had my NT scan yesterday and it all went very well. Baby is fine and dandy, looking quite laid back with his/her legs crossed at the ankles and hands behind the head! Nuchal fold measurement was 1.5mm so nothing to be concerned about at all. Blood tests combined with scan info gave me a risk of 1 in 3018, which I'm pretty chuffed about given my ancient age!! My EDD has gone back by a day to 5th November, although I'll wait until after the dating scan today before I amend the stats list.

Fingers, legs and eyes crossed for everyone else having scans today!!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 25/04/2008 09:43

Pinkali I went into My mumsnet, logged in and there was an option to share photo's (last option at the bottom of the page) and it takes you to your current photo gallery. At the top there is a hyperlink to upload pics which takes you to the upload page. There is also a little box if you want to show the pic at a different size to the one it comes up with. I find 400 width to be good.

The pics have to be on your computer first though. I took pics of my scan pics and uploaded them to the computer

Yay creena, that is great news!! LOL at your relaxed little baby. Good luck with your dating scan today!

I guess I should update the list with the date of my 20 week scan, which will be the day before my 30th Birthday, what a fantastic present! Dh & the boys are determined that they want to know they flavour, so I have been outvoted, boohoo! Story of my life, lol!

Creena that's great news!

Oh dear, went shopping with my mum yesterday and Haribo fruit things were half price for a big packer. I bought a packet and so did my mum, BUT i put 3 in my mouth to my mums 1 and Tarquin has decided he really does not like Haribos (probably just the quantity I ate) and I have a really icky and bubbly tummy OOPS.

So Prams - (Most of you will already have them from previous babies) i'm looking at the Quinny Buzz 4 (the new one with 4 wheels). DH test drove a car on Sunday and then a pram (he was impressed with the prams turning circle hee hee). Luckily my dad is buying it so we are obviously going to get every single extra we can. I liked it, has anyone had test drive??? I was advised not to get a pram with 2 separate handles because should for whatever reason you have baby in your arm or anything for that matter it would be very difficult to turn the pram. It's true, we tried it in the shop! Sorry..... I got really excited by looking at the prams, it made it real

bubbaz · 25/04/2008 11:28

Great news Creena,
Pinkali I also have a thing with Haribos at the mo but I really need to limit myself when I eat them or I end up the same!
I haven't seen the quinny but I agree with the handle thing, I have no co-ordination at all and I got a pramette with a full handle and loved it!!
Am currently having a trauma about what to do for 2 children - Any advice appreciated!!
I love prams and I would have them all if DH would let me but sadly we are not millionaires and do not have the money or the room.

ceebee74 · 25/04/2008 12:25

Bubbaz - iirc, your lo is a similar age to mine (21 months?) - we are going to get a double pram I think (a side-by-side one) as DS will only be 2.4 when 'bump' makes an appearance and will still need somewhere to sit for shopping trips etc.

My problem is that I didn't really want to buy a new car seat for 'bump' as the one DS had was only used for 9 months and is perfectly fine - however, this will limit the options for a pram (it would have to be a Mamas and Papas one) if we want to use it as a travel system - plus as I pointed out to DH, it won't match as they don't do prams in the same fabric as the car seat anymore!

So maybe new stuff all round!

Good luck to all the scannee's today - can't wait to hear how you all get on

Renaissancewoman · 25/04/2008 12:53

Had my scan this morning - ITS A BABY.

A couple of things to report apart from all is well. Mainly it is a monster. CRL 69.3mm and I'm 12 wks today, that measurement put the baby off the charts. So much so that the sonographer decided to take it into her own hands to decide when the baby was conceived and put me as 13 wks when I was categoric on my dates. Putting me at 13 wks gave an above average sized baby but one that was on the scale and she was comfortable with this, despite the fact that I was not. I am 12 wks pregnant I kept telling her. Just confirms my experience of care at that maternity hospital - you get treated according to norms and averages, not according to you and your baby. But I don't really care. Apart from this she was lovely and took time to talk us through everything. She dismissed my fibroid. Interesting as fairly eminent Consultant Gynacologist and Obstetrician had thought it fairly significant a few weeks ago. Nuchal measurement was 1.5 which is low, anything below 3.5 is OK. Then had all the blood taken fo rthe test (integrated test and others) which was all fine and much more quick and comfortable than previously.

Took my 2 yr old with us. He seemed quite excited and kept saying "baby's head" as she measured the head size. But later when we asked him where the baby was, he looked very confused at the prospect of it being inside me. Instead he said it was on the photo in Daddy's pocket.

A little bit of bad news. I bumped into my amazing independent midwife a few days ago, she delivered my last one at home and she is going on sabbatical 6 days before my due date and has said she can not do. She is amazingly reassuring and confident plus she lives very local which is pretty important given my history of fast births. But think I will go with her colleagues as do not have enough confidence in any of the NHS midwives that I've encountered in this area. Plus I know they cocked up on a home birth round the corner, cut the cord before the baby was out causing severe brain damage.

I'm going to Cornwall for a long weekend, ni kids no husband, just me and 9 old mates and really feel like my pregnancy has started today, wierd.

Hpe all is well with everyone else and have a good weekend
