Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

Pinkali37 · 21/04/2008 14:37

I was thinking just that Dozy, well done Creena x

pinkyminky · 21/04/2008 14:47

Great news Daisy! Sorry about the UTI- hope it clears up soon. And wow, a registrar that liked you having an opinion- that's quite something.

Sorry to hear people are still feeling rubbish. I have been throwing up a lot today (TMI, sorry), but mainly because DH put the bread on last night and I can't cope with the smell in the morning. We have taken to putting it on in the day and going out when it's cooking asd it really makes me sick!

Pinkali37 · 21/04/2008 14:52

Pinky me too... can't stand the thought of putting the bread on. White dough mostly makes me feel YUK. I've been buying it at the moment.

pinkyminky · 21/04/2008 14:58

I think it must be the yeast. I'm a bit sad about it really, it's part of our SAHM economy drive and normally it's such a lovely smell to wake up to, but baby obviously think differently!

lackaDAISYcal · 21/04/2008 15:23

It looks like I've got a lively one, but then I've felt some flutters already. We got waved at and the picture is really clear, showing ickle fingers and everything.

Went shopping this afternoon....OMG I look like I'm five months PG already. I had to get an outfit for a christening and have opted for boring black....lovely wide leg trousers and a crochet tunic and camisole (not maternity so can be worn afterwards). I'll brighten it up with cream accessories and coat though so it doesn't look like I'm at a funeral. I blardy hate clothes shopping.

Pinkali37 · 21/04/2008 15:25

Oh how lovely. How far are you Lacks... ?
p.s.outfit sounds darn good.

lackaDAISYcal · 21/04/2008 15:27

she said 11+3. Seems early to feel things, but as my stomach muscles are non-existent..........I felt DD at 14 weeks, but DS not until about 20 iirc.

Creena · 21/04/2008 15:59

I've also thought that I could feel flutterings but tried to convince myself that it's far too early and so probably just wind! It tends to happen when I'm in bed at night - there's a fluttering sensation in my lower abdomen. Maybe it is the baby after all; this is number four and any stomach muscles I may once have had are now porridge....

jette · 21/04/2008 16:08

Hi everyone - I'm horribly confused by both pregnancy AND the variety of threads here.. I'm due in November (I think) so can I join yours?

Pinkali37 · 21/04/2008 16:22

Hi Jette, Of course you can join us. Do you know when you are due or how far you are?

LolaBella · 21/04/2008 16:41

Yippee for LackaDAISY Lovely news to arrive home to. Mine is on Wed and i can't wait. Lets hope it is good news all around for those 10 left of us who have scans this week

Heartmum i'v had a constant headache since Fri - very reluctant to take anything but had to cave today at work and take some paracetomal but they don't work. Why are we getting them???

Pinkali37 · 21/04/2008 16:52

Headaches - either dehydration OR HORMONES !!

Oh forgot to add, had booking in appointment and that was fine. Lots of questions but nothing too taxing.

Off for acupuncture now so see you all tomorrow. xx

dozymare · 21/04/2008 16:56

Great news again Lacksa!!!!!!!!! Here's hoping we only have good news now as we get further along.......I am hoping we all do....

As fgor headaches - had them myself for the past 2 weeks and googled "headaches in pregnancy" and came back with dehydration...i have since drunk about 5 pints a day and no headache...Definately try that one first ladies!!!!

Welcome Jette - is this your first??! Any idea of due date??

DM x

Heartmum2Jamie · 21/04/2008 17:04

Lolabella, hugs hon. I REALLY feel for you. I also had to cave this morning and take some paracetomol, which seemed like they weren't going to work, but then I pegged some washing on the line and perhaps the fresh, cool air helped clear my head a little, then I was starving, so ate some cheese of all things (normally a headache no go!) with some soup, not at the same time mind, and it eased off on it's own.

I have read that headaches in pregnancy are caused by the increased blood volume and increase in hormones. Others say that pregnancy can cause tension in the spinal column which can lead to tension headaches (the kind I get). They can also be caused by anxiety (that's all us lot then!), hunger, dehydration, lack of caffine and certain foods.

I normally start off by making sure I am not thirsty and have a couple of drinks and then try a warm, relaxing bath. Sleep at the minute makes mine worse, I think I am having issues with my pillow.

I hope that you feel better soon, there is nothing worse that a constant headache.

Thanks for posting the scan list Creena, I can't remember where to find the list now, lol! It is helpful to know who is having scans!

Creena · 21/04/2008 17:15

No probs, Heartmum - I'll try and do one for each week but I can't promise to always get the list right or here on time! I'm just so disorganised at the moment. I can't seem to muster the energy to get things done. I started clearing and sorting out our bedroom last weekend - I have a pile of stuff to go to the charity shop, a packing sack full of stuff to go into storage, piles of stuff to go on ebay and a pile of bits and bobs that just need to be chucked out. I still have the bottom half of one of the wardrobes and a chest of drawers to sort out yet - I can't start on those because I've yet to do anything with the piles I've already sorted out. GAH! I wish I wasn't so knackered all of the time.

Once DH gets home, I'll get him to stick the bag for the charity shop in the boot of the car ready to drop off on Thursday morning when we're on the way to the scan. He'll also have to put the storage bag up in the loft. I'll chuck the rubbishy stuff out tonight and I'll start packing the ebay stuff away in boxes ready to be posted (I've at least got round to sticking them on ebay, so that's something). Hopefully the bedroom won't look such a tip after that. At least until I start Operation Sort Out Phase Two anyway.....

Creena · 21/04/2008 17:16

Hello and welcome to Jette, too! Is this your first baby? Do you know your due date yet and have you got any scans booked? Let us know and we'll stick you on our stats list here.

lackaDAISYcal · 21/04/2008 17:51

Hi jette and welcome

I've added my anomaly scan date to the list as well. If you click "watch this thread" then it goes on your "threads I'm watching"....makes it easier to find.

I had lots of headaches/dehydration when I was pregnant with DD, but it hasn't been as bad this time around. Towards the end it made my Braxton hicks sooooo much worse as well (in hospital twice as I thought I was in premature labour!), so it's a good idea to try and drink lots. The hospital told me at least 3litres a day!!!

wrt drugs, paracetomol or codeine at the recommended dose is perfectly fine as they don't cross the placenta. I took co-codamol last night for the UTI at the advice of the EPU.

Roca · 21/04/2008 17:55

Creena - how did you find the jump from 2 -3? I have a 3 and 2 yr old so with have 3 under 5. Some times I can't wait other times I get a bit freaked out about how much my life has changed in the last 4 years. Sometimes feels anxious / overwhelming about the responsibility O now have and will ALWAYS have. Saying that though I think I would like 4.

My DS starts school nursery every day in Spet for 2.5 hrs and DD will be at playgroup 2 mornings so that's 4 school run trips with a newborn - hmmm! Lots of breastfeeding in the car I can see!

My biggest jump was 0-1 though - mys firs knocked me for 6!

Roca · 21/04/2008 17:59

Creena - are you having 2 scans this week?!!

serendippity · 21/04/2008 18:17

Oh Roca i wish you knew how exactly you sound like my very good freind re my mother! and you are both exactly right i will get the message one day
Waves at lackaDAISYcle I do hope you feel better soon.

I'm in my maternity jeans!
Hope all those with scans went

Roca · 21/04/2008 20:31

Serendippity - maybe I am your good friend - is she 10 wks pregnant?!!!!

cricri · 21/04/2008 20:35

Evening everybody, I've been away from a PC for the past 3 days and it's taken me ages to catch up on all the news! You lot have certainly been chatty.
Sorry to hear your sad news Mummyhill Look after yourself.
Welcome Jette and congratulations. How are you feeling?
Well, I had my NT scan today and it went really well. I was really nervous going in, even though I had a successful scan at 7 weeks. But all is well, baby was jumping around like anything and risk levels for all three trisomies are very low so that was a relief. Strong hb and good blood flow to the placenta too. DH and I were in there for about 30 minutes so we got a good look at the baby - apparently there's a 70% chance it's a girl We'll wait for confirmation at a later scan though before decorating the nursery . Oh, and my EDD has been moved forwards 2 days to 1 November. Are we still having our separate stats thread in addition to the one on here? If so I'll update it.
I've got my NHS dating scan on Thursday afternoon too so looking forward to getting another look at the bean then too!
Nausea has tailed off considerably in the past week, which is a relief. I haven't had cheese and rice for at least 10 days! Hope everybody else is OK.

serendippity · 21/04/2008 20:39

Cricri so glad your scan went well, i can't believe they could tell you it was prob a girl so early!
roca sadly i have no freinds in RL who are pg!
Guess what everyone, on top of sickness, tirdness, sore boobs and crap mother, I now suspect i have sciatica. Bloody hell.

lackaDAISYcal · 21/04/2008 20:51

serendippity, that might pass! I have had really bad sciatic pain with both DD and this pregnancy around the 6-8 week point, lasting for two or three weeks then it's gone away again. My physio thinks it's related to the sacrio-iliac joint pain I get due to my dodgy pelvis. Doing pilates and deep abdominal stretches makes it a whole heap better.
