Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

Morning All,
HM2J & Serendipity hope everything has calmed down now and that you are both OK.
Pinkali no wonder you are so worried thats quite a story you have to tell.
Good luck to everyone who has scans this week.

LolaBella · 20/04/2008 10:03

I'm sending a big good luck to those lovely ladies whose scan are this week. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed from me sprinkled with fairy dust on top

Heartmum2Jamie · 20/04/2008 12:13

Thanks for the good wishes ladies, the spotting seems to have stopped and it was never really more than a blob of brown mucousy stuff and then changed to tan streaked cm (sorry for TMI!) The left ovary type pain has mainly eased off too and baby sound good on my doppler, so I am feeling a little better. I still plan on speaking with the midwife tomorrow.

How are you getting on serendipity?

I amj one of those lucky (I hope!) people with a scan this week, I am excited and a little nervous. Hopefully we will see a healthy, happy baby bouncing around and they may be able to give me an indication to what happened yesterday. I can hardly believe I am 12 weeks tomorrow! Roll on Thursday for the scan though.

Good luck to everyone else having scans this week!

Hi all, glad your spotting has stopped heartmum, I had some last week just exactly like yours (tan streaked etc!), and got worried too. I'm jealous you can hear your baby's heartbeat whenever you want! That must be totally amazing! I still can't quite believe there's a baby inside me.

I'm having a sick day today. Having boasted that my ms had stopped I am being proved wrong! Feel rough. I've eaten SO MUCH today and can't chase the nausea away.

Roca - I feel exactly as if I've been on a long haul flight every day! Skin horrible and my tiredness starts in the eyes and spreads through me within seconds, leaving me comatose. Ugh I hate it more than the nausea.

Is anyone else using the "I'm pregnant" excuse at every opportunity? I've managed to almost never have to make a cup of tea by claiming I can't get off the sofa! Luckily DH is taking it quite well! It's the only advantage to the current situation!

lackaDAISYcal · 20/04/2008 14:58

afternoon.

Feeling bloody awful today. WE had to come home early from our day out as I have been gtting nasty pains at the bottom of my belly and mild backache. I'm trying not to worry (pains are just old scar tissue stretching, backache is just that, backache as I sat on the sofa all day yesterday) but with my history ......still, scan is first thing tomorrow so I'll know soon enough.

heartmum, sorry you've had some spotting, but glad it's settled down now.

My skin is always horrible in the first trimester is well. spotty, but very dry at the same time. I go through lashings of moisturiser.

Hi serendippity Good to see you over here!

Heartmum2Jamie · 20/04/2008 16:41

Good luck with your scan tomorrow Daisy, shall be looking out for your updates, fingers crossed it is good. Sorry to ehar you are feeling rough today though. HUGS.

My skin is pretty horrid, I could be a teenager again!

Pinkali- what an ordeal you have been through to get here, and thanks for sharing it with us. I hope you can find the right formula for you to have an enjoyable pregnancy.x
Good luuck to all who are having scans this week- hope you all get some sleep!
Sorry to hear people have been feeling rough. I am a bit up and down.
I'm getting a sharp pain on my scar, Daisy, I think there is a bit of an adhesion on my right side as it always hurts in the same place.

lackaDAISYcal · 20/04/2008 21:03

I called the EPU as pains getting worse . They think it's either scar tenderness since it is still quite fresh or a UTI. Thinking about it, that sounds likely as I've been really dehydrated for the last couple of days as I've not been drinking enough. The EPU couldn't see me tonight, but have told me to take some co-codamol and drink lots.

DH has been out for some Ocean Spray, so I'm guzzling it like it's going out of fashion. Between the running to the loo and the worry, it;s going to be another sleepless night in the daisy household.

pinkyminky · 20/04/2008 21:15

oh Lackadaisy- hope you feel better. A UTI is quite likely if you're a bit dehydrated. My scar did hurt quite a lot with my second pg, as it was less than a year after my section, eps as everything started to move up a bit. You can get special supportive undies if it is that and you are very uncomfortable. (Not very glamorous topiic) Hope you do get a bit of rest.

lackaDAISYcal · 20/04/2008 21:19

I've got pain in my kidneys now, so it probaly is a UTI. I'm downing the cranberry juice and gallons of water and will take a sample with me tomorrow. DH says I look like death warmed up

I'm off for an early night. I'll let you know as soon as I get back tomorrow.

Renaissancewoman · 21/04/2008 07:46

lackaDAISYcal - hope all looks good today on scan and hope pain eases off soon.

Scan on Friday for me, I am literally ticking off days onthe calendar. After the scan I'm off to Cornwall with a load of old work mates, just me, no kids, no husband. Haven't done that for about 3 years. Saw some friends over the weekend and was picking out clothes to disguise bump so I wouldn't get asked. It worked I think.

Back to porridge and sewing on button on DD's school dress before they all come down.

Pinkali37 · 21/04/2008 09:26

Morning All,

Thank you for your kind words on my "feel sorry for me post below", no honestly I didn't mean it like that at all but it did kind of help me to realise that we have overcome a lot.

Anyway, Lacks, really hope your pain is just a UTI (v common) and i'm sure the Cranberry juice will help loads (it did with mine). What time is your scan?

Heartmum - sorry to hear you have been spotting. I had a similar sort of thing at 8 weeks (when AF would have been due). Fingers Crossed all is fine.

I have my booking in appointment with CMW today at 11.20. Quite looking forward to telling her how anxious and nutty I am feeling. LIke many of you said, it really can't be healthy for me or PEA. I suppose it's that weird stage i'm in. Can't see or feel anything different in my tummy so it doesn't feel real. I know with the previous scans i always felt that they were just playing a video and surely that small growing human being couldn't be in me

I am still getting really tired in an afternoon. By 2.30 I could go to bed but I don't but then after we have eaten tea it hits me. My head slumps onto the kitchen table (this process really helps with getting out of clearing the table and filling dishwasher - TOP TIP). I have noticed however, that if I don't go to be at 7pm and i go at 9pm I really can't sleep very well.

Skin - My skin in past 2 weeks has really broken out. Horrible plus really dry.

11 scans this week - WOW. Fingers crossed for us all. We only need good news this week. xxxxxx

dozymare · 21/04/2008 09:34

Good Luck for Scans today everyone!!! Lacks I suffered UTI in 1st PG and was awful as I refused antibiotics.........also very common!!!

Heartmum2Jamie · 21/04/2008 09:59

Anyone else getting headaches? I have had one almost everyday for 3 or 4 weeks. They used to come on in the evening, now they have moved around so that I wake up with one, feel like crud for most of the day and maybe get a reprieve for a few hours before it all starts again. Today's headache seems to have stepped up a gear, feels like it will turn into a migraine (mind you, allergies were playing up something rotten yesterday, so I am a little congested which I doubt helps). Was hoping they would ease off a 12 weeks and what happens? I feelworse, like chopping my own head off! This is the first time I have ever had headaches in pregnancy. PLEASE tell me it gets better and I won't be like this for the next 28 weeks or so.

S'cuse spelling mistakes, trying to type this while not looking at the screen.

Daisy, it does sound like a UTI, I hope that it is that, lesser of the evils I think. Good luck today, thinking of you.

Heartmum, I have been having bad headaches.
And my pains seem to have got worse.
and I feel ROTTEN as a dog.
And my skin is itchy and I have spots on my back - this is a new one for me.
God I feel terrible.
Weren't we all supposed to be feeling better by now ?

Oblomov · 21/04/2008 10:20

And I can't see my feet.

Creena · 21/04/2008 11:12

Morning ladies! That's another weekend gone by - never mind. Good luck to everyone having a scan this week (there are a few of us now)!

Daisy - hope all goes well with your scan today. Sounds like you've got a nasty UTI to me. You poor thing - sounds really painful. I hope it clears up soon. Cranberry juice is great and will really help.

Heartmum - glad that the spotting has stopped now. It's always a terrible worry when that happend. Great that you've been able to get some reassurance by using your doppler though. I know what you mean about headaches. I get them in the evenings and when I wake up too. I think mine might be related to being a bit dehydrated as I've noticed that if I drink lots and lots of water and fluids, it seems to really make a difference.

Oblomov - I feel rotten too! I'm 12 weeks this week and for a day or two last week, I thought the MS was improving. How wrong was I? Very! I was moaning to DH last night "Why isn't it getting better? It's supposed to be getting better" etc etc. He has taken to calling me Dot Cotton now. Humph!

I've started to morph into Giant Haystacks now. My belly is really protruding. Sadly, only some of it is baby - there's a great, wobbling layer on top of the baby bit that's just lard, I'm afraid. I don't look pregnant at all - just really fat.

Roca · 21/04/2008 11:21

Hi Ladies,

I too wish that I could proudly stick out my belly and say I look pg but think it's just the 6month look that is left over from my last 2! I have not told my work (only part-time) but put an outfit on to wear to an event I am running on Weds and my sis said I look pg so have to change that. I wish I started from a nice flat tum coz then I could say it was due to the pg not the 4 packets of feta cheese, humous and kettle chips that I'm addicted to each week!

Roll on wk 17 / 20 / 26ish when it becomes nice and firm and obviously from baby!

lackaDAISYcal · 21/04/2008 11:40

I'VE GOT A BABY IN MY TUMMY

...and a possible nasty UTI

done a sample, results back next week . In the meantime, it's loads of cranberry juice for me, and resting up. I feel loads better today and the pain is lessening, so it's probably shifting already.

Talked to Registrar about VBAC. She was "impressed with my research". Thinks VBAC is a reasonable option, will not induce, but baby needs to be out, under it's own steam by 41 weeks or it's straight to theatre. she did say I would need to have CFM, but I'll argue that one at a later date. I'm just glad I didn't have a fight with them about it today.

Off to have some crisps and more cranberry juice (bleargh, I hate the stuff) and let DH on the pooter. I'll catch you all later.

Good Luck for any more scans.

Oh, scan date agrees with mine, so I'm staying where I am on the list

Roca · 21/04/2008 11:42

congrats lackadaisy - fab news - ooh - all good so far this week! Let's hope we all go all the way now

Heartmum2Jamie · 21/04/2008 12:10

Yay about the baby Daisy, not so yay about the possible UTI (a blummin' week to get the results back, that's awful!). Here's hoping it is the start of a good news week!

OP posts:
Creena · 21/04/2008 12:25

That's great news, Daisy (about the baby, not the UTI, which totally sucks obviously)! How did your little bobba behave during the scan - was it a lively one or a laid back one?

Fingers crossed for a really good run of scan results now. Is Jojay due her scan today? Must check the list to see who's next.

Good luck everyone!

Creena · 21/04/2008 12:32

I've had a really quick look through the scan list and this week looks like this;

Today - Daisy and JoJay
Tuesday - Toolly
Wednesday - Lolabella and Pinkali
Thursday - Heartmum and Creena
Friday - Mum2Becks, Creena, Renaissance Woman and BettiSpaghetti

Hope I haven't missed anyone - just shout out if I have!

Pinkali37 · 21/04/2008 13:39

Daisy - Brilliant news - kind of makes it real now! xxx
