Here's our shiney, new and slightly ameneded thread to reflect our main topic of conversation recently! Really didn't want to mention the cheese and rice in the same sentence, but as it is a favourite with so many of you, I had to add it in, sorry to Hanaflower!

had my booking in today. Didnt do wee test?! Says in folder not until ages away which i thought a bit odd!Had to take pee every appt with ds. She couldnt get any blood out of me even though i warned her im v difficult! She goes 'if i cant get the blood out no one can' funny how im having to go to the phlebotomist (sp) to take my blood.

is anyone just feeling 'odd'. I still dont have any feelings about this pg and even though i have a small bump and severe nausea i dont believe im pregnant. Also my nausea not as bad but i feel wierd all the time in my belly. Not sickness just v uncomfortable and feeling unwell??

lackaDAISYcal · 17/04/2008 13:34

mad4, I took a sample with me when I went to see the doc at five weeks thinking she would send it off to confirm a positive pregnancy, but she just dipped it instead!

MW didn't do wee at my booking in either; nor with DD. Next time I'll see her will be about 16 weeks and I think she'll do it every time from then.

some days I just feel like I've got a bg rather than being pregnant. I suppose it's coming up to that transition stage between sickly first and bionic second trimester.

My DD has finally turned a corner and we have solid poo here for the first time in a week. she is also sort of back to her old smiley self again....yay. i hate it when they are poorly.

lackaDAISYcal · 17/04/2008 13:35

that should say a bug!

mad4mybaby · 17/04/2008 13:36

was wondering what bg stood for! Glad dd better

pinkyminky · 17/04/2008 13:40

Very strange dream, Hana.
Sorry to hear you feel so out of sorts, Mad4. Perhaps you have a bit of a bug? Are you feeling anxious at all?

MW didn't take a pee sample off me at my booking, either, I did give one yesterday after my scan. I'm not sure what the thinking is behind it. As I say with DS my booking in a dating scan were all done in one appointment, and I was in hospital with my second- so don't really know what the 'norm' is. I hate giving blood. They donn't always get it out of me and when they do I always end up bleeding into my arm because my blood takes a while to clot- probably to do with my iron thing.

pinkyminky · 17/04/2008 13:43

MY antenatal doesn't start til 24 weeks!
Glad dd is better, daisy

Purlease · 17/04/2008 13:48

Just back from scan - I'm afraid I'm going to leave you. Our little angel decided this world wasn't for him/her.

Renaissancewoman · 17/04/2008 13:50

hanaflower - really liked your dream. Isn't it mad how brain mixes up real and surreal, possible and impossible?

I'm a bit jealous. Would love to go for supper with world leader, or former one, or husband of maybe about to be one, even if just in a dream - saves all the hassle of sorting out what to wear!!

Creena · 17/04/2008 13:59

Purlease - I'm so very, very sorry. Sending you lots of big hugs. Take care of yourself.

Oblomov · 17/04/2008 14:03

Purlease, yes , so sorry. Big hugs to you
What will happen now ? Have they recommended anything ?

Purlease · 17/04/2008 14:14

Can either let nature take its course or have a D&C. As I have been having a bit of bleeding over the last few days I thought I'd give nature a chance to do its work although I have been warned that I could experience a lot of pain. What is a bit of pain to a woman who has already gone through labour?

If there is any sign of pregnancy in 2 weeks time will have to go back - not sure I like the idea of a pregnancy test in these circumstances.

The only people that know about pregnancy outside of ourselves is my sister and her husband and you guys so not sure whether to tell anyone else> stayed off work today on the pretense that I was waiting for a delivery. Not sure I'll be able to hide my sorrow. Going to visit a friend who had a baby a few weeks ago at the weekend.

lackaDAISYcal · 17/04/2008 14:23

oh, purlease, I'm so so sorry sweetheart

Having had two complete and spontaneous miscarriages, I would go with the D&C as it isn't pleasant, and it does hurt a lot. you can take as much pain relief as you need though, and i'm surprised the hospital didn't prescribe you anything; I was given co-codamol both times.

Take care of yourself lovely, and if you don't feel up to seeing your friend and her baby, then don't go. i'm sure she will understand. Take as much time off work as you think you need as well; your doc will sign you off no problems.

daisy xx

Purlease · 17/04/2008 14:46

Thanks.

Not sure I will take time off - will see how I feel. I would only be miserable sitting at home with nothing to distract me.

At home today - I was supposed to go in this afternoon but made an excuse.

I think I have some co-codamol - must check the date on it.

pinkyminky · 17/04/2008 15:26

Purlese that is very sad news I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself, and if you can explain things to your friend, I'm sure she will understand. So sorry, love.xx

bubbaz · 17/04/2008 15:39

So sorry Purlease, thinking of you. Big hugs xx
Make sure they keep a check on you if you do decide to go down the natural route, I had almost 3 months before being discharged after my mmc as it was incomplete. take care xx

Purlease · 17/04/2008 15:54

I think they give it 4 weeks. I will probably go for D&C if Nature hasn't taken it's course in the next 2 weeks.

Will only mention it to my friend if my emotions get the better of me.

Have a few days to get rid of all these tears - tissue box emptying quickly.

Dh was home when I got back from hospital so had lots of hugs. Have just realised that I am not going to have a baby in 2008 - here's looking to 2009 and happier times!

Best wishes to all of you. I'm sure we'll meet on other threads.

love xxx

cricri · 17/04/2008 16:17

Purlease So sorry to hear your sad news You must do what you feel is right under the circumstances. After my mmc I decided to wait and let nature take its course, then chickened out and booked an ERPC. In the end I didn't need it as I'd mc'ed naturally by the time the date of the op came around and fortunately it was complete (confirmed by scan). It wasn't too painful, but then all development had stopped at 6 weeks for me so I guess there wasn't all that much to come out (sorry if TMI). I'm really sorry, it's such a horrible thing to have to go through. You'll find lots of support on this thread if you need it. Look after yourself and take time off if you need to. ((hugs))

ceebee74 · 17/04/2008 16:44

Purlease - so very very sorry about your loss Take care of yourself and do whatever you need to do to get through this xx

I did give a urine sample yesterday at my booking-in appointment - the mw said it was just to check there were no infections. Also, is there anyone else who has not had their pg 'medically' confirmed? I just rung the doctors and told the receptionist I was pregnant and she just took my word for it and booked me into see the midwife

Bettispaghetti · 17/04/2008 16:48

Purlease - just wanted to say how sad I feel for you.

bubbaz · 17/04/2008 16:54

Ceebee I didn't have mine confirmed either. I did start to worry myself in the first couple of weeks when I didn't feel anything at all that the test had been faulty - I only did 1 - and that I was going to get to my scan and be told that I had never been pregnant was even more worried cause when I went for my first scan with DS there was a girl who had got to her dating scan and there was nothing there at all they told her she had never been pregnant ooops.
