Oooo I have not been able to MN for 2 whole days as been busy and yesterday when I tried it wouldn't let me on! Is very strange - actually dreamt about you all last night as was so odd not knowing what was going on....

Anyway, can't even be bothered to try and catch up properly as you lot talk too much, but hope you are all well.

VS - your bump looks like mine! People keep asking in an oh-so-funny way 'Are you sure you're not having twins?'. Last time someone said it I was a bit tetchy and just said 'Oh you're the first person to make that comment - today. Yes am quite sure thank you' and walked off.

scorpio - you are so neat and lovely looking it nearly made me cry with . I look like I have another baby growing on my arse at the moment. Hey-ho.

Has anyone else had any babies yet? I am going for a growth scan on monday as baby looks like is a right chubster, but no signs of her appearing yet....

EllieG · 05/04/2008 16:39

Right, am getting paranoid now. Every time have posted this week have killed the thread.....hellooooo???? Anybody there???? [Ellie listens to her own voice echoing back]

Lol Ellie, I get it all the time too, I'm like 'well, I've had about oooh, 20 scans now so I think they'd have noticed'
I want it out!

ThePFJ · 05/04/2008 17:10

Hi Ellie!!!

Still here, LO due today but nobody has told him.

Already sick of people leaving messages.

" Yes I've had the baby but couldn't be arsed to tell anyone. Now sod off."

My nephew was amused at least.

Oh yes, if one more person says "Oooh your all baby, what a neat bump" and then strokes my tummy WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION I swear I will deck them!

I got my first belly-rubs two weeks ago and it was quite strange.
Apart from DP no-one I know has crossed that boundary as if there is an invisible line or something but when we went for lunch with my best friend (who I hadnt seen for about 7months) she was straight there touching and I quite lked it.
Then the week after my cons was stroking my belly in the antenatal clinic which was just STRANGE.
Apart from that no-one has touched it.

Peachy · 05/04/2008 17:26

BR come join the thread linked to below

My Mum phoned up again to ask earlier- argggh! I mean my Mum.

And apparently if my sister doesn't get an email from me within ten minutes of her enquiring if baby here yet, she turns up at mums all excited.

PMSL.

Dh and I laughing our arses off though as MIL no doubt complaining to everyone that baby must be ehre by now and evil son didnt even call her- ooh she's so hard done by......

PMSl.

Peachy · 05/04/2008 17:27

I quite like the belly touching- at home you'd have nto touched someone as you migt get a smack (quite a rough area LOL), here people do and its so much nicer- more friendly i think.

bunnyrabbit · 05/04/2008 17:33

LOL at your sister....

Message from my sister in Munich when we got back from town today. I only spoke to her last night. Wouldn't mind but she had a DS 8 weeks ago and was a few days late so must know what it's like.

VS, don't mind having my belly rubbed, just wish people would ask. If I walked up to someone who wasn't pregant and started rubbing various body parts I'm sure it wouldnot be acceptable, and yet touching my bump is!

Peachy · 05/04/2008 17:35

My sister ahd her LO in November, but early so she's extra hyper. Her best mate always ahd premmies and I am,erm, somewhat unique in this

bunnyrabbit · 05/04/2008 17:49

Oh you poor thing.... it's not like we don't want to have these babies is it?

THis might make you laugh... have frozen a lot of meals and bits of meals lately for DS, as I don't know how timing is going to work once LO comes. But ran out of labels, so decided to use up the non labelled food first. Was feeling lazy so DS's dinner was supposed to be huge amount of veg (Sweetcorn/peas/broccoli/Mash) that I froze previously and Pork and apple sausage, also cooked and frozen(Tescos - smells yummy)..... only .. well the mash isn't mash.. it's fishermans pie! So DS is having the fishermans pie and DH and I just fought over the sausage!

LOL

bunnyrabbit · 05/04/2008 17:54

Actualy, I remember my mum used to defrost the freezer and any pies/pasties that weren't labelled would all be cooked and put in the middle of the table as a free for all. You never knew what you were going to get until you bit into it! Apple, cornish, blackberry, steak and kidney, chicken etc.. they were such fun dinners..Erk now I'm getting nostalgic.

Peachy · 05/04/2008 17:56

Mum used to work in a canning fctory and they'd get tins with no labels on really cheaply.... but you didn't know whether you were having carrots or peas or pineapple in creme de menthe with your Findus Crispy pancake LOL

bunnyrabbit · 05/04/2008 17:58

LOL... I should think my mum is quite a bit older than yours but sounds like they went to the same school!

bunnyrabbit · 05/04/2008 18:00

You know I've never had aproblem with mixing sweet and savoury .. I wonder if that's why?

Peachy · 05/04/2008 18:07

Mum is sixty this year (I'm no baby safdly LOL)

Actually I'll eat pretty much anything.....hmmm........

bunnyrabbit · 05/04/2008 18:13

My mum is 69 so not far out I suppose.

Me too... so perhaps that's why I didn't have any cravings.

Did you have any?

Peachy · 05/04/2008 18:16

Ice and raw broccolli (both still current LOL)

But anaemic which explains broccolli, and apparently ice cravings indicate calcium deficieny and I am milk intol which may well be linked

bunnyrabbit · 05/04/2008 18:19

Oooh realy? Didn't know that. I love eating ice..

I serve raw broccolli to DS all the time. It's called "special broccolli" and we both like it

christmaspixie · 05/04/2008 18:57

This shows some of the acupressure points- from what I've read on other sites the point on the calf seems to be the one to induce labour. Another thing to try??

scorpio1 · 05/04/2008 19:40

Still here, just checking in. Have been on my feet alot today, am tired and have come to the conclusion i am going to be pregnant forever.

Bought some jeans and tshirts for after birth - nothing i own will fit me

Thankyou for nice bump comments.

chipmonkey · 05/04/2008 20:29

Moominsmummy and I both had raw broccoli cravings as well, Peachy. Didn't realise it was a sign of anaemia.

AussieDivaOnABreak · 05/04/2008 21:08

Hi there girls - have briefly skimmed the past day and I couldn't spot any babies...there is a new moon around 4am tomorrow so perhaps that will usher things along? VS I discovered a really good horoscope site herefrom a friend, have a look and let me know what you think.

I've been very busy with the DH and dd today, taking stuff to the tip and generally getting odds and ends done. Has been wonderful way to keep distracted instead of staying at hone brooding. Bought some EPO today and have started taking that and Black Cohosh, leaving the Clary Sage alone but even after rubbing it into my belly yesterday I haven't had one contraction. So I can only assume that I just ain't ready yet. At least the EPO will help me things along.

Peachy - to answer your question somewhat belatedly, my experience of the NHS has so far been incredible. When my first dd was born we were living in Cardiff, and I gave birth to her at the Caerphilly Birth Centre, about 30 minutes drive away. It was a midwife-led unit, newly built and beautifully clean...I felt like I had the place to myself! I can't really compare it to Australia - I was 21 when I arrived here and haven't had anything to do with An Aussie hospital since I was a kid.
