hi all,

lobsterlass good luck with the tests, let us know how you get on.

chinchi I've missed a couple of days, I'm assuming your results are good? I hope so

columboswife hugs to you

LobstersLass · 16/04/2008 14:10

Hi ladies, it wasn't to be. The levels had fallen to 67 so it's all over. I had really bad cramping last night and proper bleeding. Even an optimist like me couldn't call it spotting!

Anyway, like ColumbosWife said, I'd rather it happen now rather than later. I'd only known for a fortnight.

I feel remarkably well, although I'm sure I'll have a weep at some point.

Good luck to you all. xx

BrightShinySun · 16/04/2008 14:17

Hi all. Sending lots of hugs to Colomboswife and fingers crossed for you lobsterlass

Hope everyone else is ok, I had my follow up scan today and could see a tiny little but very strong heartbeat - yay! Dates are spot on, due Dec 5th, feel much happier and excited now, going to make my booking appointment for next week.

ChutneyMary · 16/04/2008 14:18

Oh lobsterslass, I'm really sorry to hear that. Take care and hope to hear that you have good news again soon.

Disenchanted · 16/04/2008 14:24

Hiya!!

just got my BFP

How do I work out my due date?

It may be complicated as I OVd a week or so late.

Thanks!

And yey!!

Soooo glad I am joining you

ChutneyMary · 16/04/2008 14:28

Congratulations to you my dear.

Due date like this -

take date of last period

add on a week

Subtract 3 months.

So for me - 29th Feb ( I think)

add on a week - 6th March

Take off 3 months - 6th Dec

If you ov'd late, then this would bugger the scheme, but you can always adjust it or they will do it for you when you have a scan. I only had one period since DD2 born and it took a while to get going so my dates are a bit of a guess too.

BrightShinySun · 16/04/2008 14:30

Hi Disenchanted I was told that they will work out your due date from the first day of your last period regardless of whether you know when you ovulated and then will change it if is over 5 days out at your dating scan.

I was told I was 6 weeks when I went up for blood tests re a suspected ectopic but then when they did a scan they changed it to 5wks. I've just had another today, two weeks later which has confirmed I am 7wks on Friday which is exactly 7wks from when I ovulated!! They wouldn't listen though!!

Congratulations by the way, its great to see another from the TTC thead!!

BrightShinySun · 16/04/2008 14:31

By the way I ovulated a week later than the 'normal' !!

Disenchanted · 16/04/2008 14:32

I still cant belive Im on an antenatal thread!!

Thanks, will try and work it out!

rosmerta · 16/04/2008 14:35

My 2nd DS was born on his due date!

kayzisexpecting · 16/04/2008 15:24

DIS!!! Hello!!!!

Just got back from MW appt, it was fine except for giving blood. I hate needles! But it wasn't too bad. DS was trying to destroy the MW's room. Got loads of stuff like leaflets and samples so that was ok. Now I just have to wait for my scan. Which the MW said is done between 10 and 12 weeks but normally at 12 weeks.

Now I have to go to work. Boo Hoo!! But then I am on holiday for 2 weeks.

kayzisexpecting · 16/04/2008 15:27

lobsterlass I am so so sorry. Take good care of yourself and remember we are here if you want to chat.

Indith test!!!

Preggy ladies with December babies = 42

missmama · 16/04/2008 15:52

Hi All
Just got back with the kids from school. Glad I only do the 2 days so have tomorrow to myself once I have dropped them off.

Dont really believe it yet, only me and DH know, wont be telling anybody else for a while yet.

Feeling fine, no sickness, had a funny taste in my mouth this morning but it went quite soon after it came. cant quite get my thoughts around it all as we have been trying for a while.

NineUnlikelyTales · 16/04/2008 15:59

Blimey, I thought I would check to see if anyone had started an anetnatal thread for December 2008 just on the off chance.....and here you are, nearly 700 of you

I am due 22nd December but if this one is anything like DS, he/she won't be born until mid January! I had a v early miscarriage last month so I am still feeling a bit unsure about how excited to feel about this pg. But everything 'feels' better this time so fingers crossed.

Congratulations everyone!

MrsMattie · 16/04/2008 16:04

Afternoon all. Welcome to all newcomers - this thread is getting busy. The more the merrier, eh!

Lobsterlass - I'm so sorry to hear your news. A few of us on here have had miscarriages and it's pretty tough. My mc was pretty early on too and physically I felt fine, but it did knock the stuffing out of me a bit later on down the line, so do go easy on yourself.

NineUnlikelyTales (great name, btw!) - welcome especially. I had a m/c in october and am delighted to be pregnant again but it does make you more cautious. I don't think I will really believe this is happening until I have a huge bump!

Good news is that after a major retching bout this monring, I've felt OK (tired, but OK) today and have managed to eat a proper meal without chucking up. Please, pray this is the beginning of the end of MS!

Bisou · 16/04/2008 16:22

Well it's been a few days since my last post... but time sure doesn't stand still on mumsnet!

ColumbosWife and LobsterLass - I'm so sorry. My thoughts are with you, look after yourselves Similar to MrsMattie, I also had a delay with the grieving process - I think I was in shock initially. Sending big hugs to you both.

bcsnowpea I know what you mean about reading the barrage of messages in the morning, LOL! I'm glad to have a fellow Auzzie on the thread too, because I guess it's a slightly different system here to the UK. I haven't even seen a doctor yet, but will be doing so very soon as I don't want to miss getting into the hospital of my choice. I have private insurance too but will probably go public to save money as it will still cost quite a few thousand to go private, and I won't have served the 12mth compulsary waiting period for being able to claim back. Remember there is also the baby bonus here which you can use towards paying for birth costs (but of course you don't get it till afterwards!) I'll thinking about going to the the Royal Womens in Randwick, as it seems to be the best for my area. Where abouts are you in Sydney? I might be able to help, as I've researched hospitals in Sydney.

Hi & welcome snowwombat; are you an Auzzie living in the UK? Just wondering after reading your 'time zone' comment

MrsMattie, how is your sister doing? I hope she's ok [fingers crossed]. I had suspected DVT once after a long distance flight, and they had to do an ultrasound on my calf. All was well though thankfully, there was no sign of a clot, often they dissolve naturally without the need for meds so I hope it's the same for your sister. I'm worried about flying myself at the moment - I need to make a long distance flight next month and you're at higher risk of DVT when you're pregnant. Also I'm worried about something going wrong even though they say it's safe to fly in the first trimester. Anyway hope your sister is ok.

Mina30 I second the hot water + fresh grated ginger + honey, yum! I add freshly squeezed lemon juice too for that hit of vitamin C to hopefully keep the nasty cold germs at bay Hope you're feeling better soon Verso BSS that's such great news about your scan! How lovely to see a heartbeat . I'm not so sure about having MS envy anymore after hearing how some of you lovely ladies are suffering - so I've now decided I've got scan envy instead, hehe

Indith - hope to see you here soon!!!

And welcome NineUnlikelyTales!

MrsMattie · 16/04/2008 16:26

Hi Bisou - thanks for remembering about my sister . She is fine, thankfully. She had a horrible day in hospital having cardigrams and scans on her lungs etc, but there was no blood clot and they suspect the swelling in her leg is due to an undetected fracture in her ankle and shin. She's resting up at home right now :-)
