Well it's been a few days since my last post... but time sure doesn't stand still on mumsnet!
ColumbosWife and LobsterLass - I'm so sorry. My thoughts are with you, look after yourselves Similar to MrsMattie, I also had a delay with the grieving process - I think I was in shock initially. Sending big hugs to you both.
bcsnowpea I know what you mean about reading the barrage of messages in the morning, LOL! I'm glad to have a fellow Auzzie on the thread too, because I guess it's a slightly different system here to the UK. I haven't even seen a doctor yet, but will be doing so very soon as I don't want to miss getting into the hospital of my choice. I have private insurance too but will probably go public to save money as it will still cost quite a few thousand to go private, and I won't have served the 12mth compulsary waiting period for being able to claim back. Remember there is also the baby bonus here which you can use towards paying for birth costs (but of course you don't get it till afterwards!) I'll thinking about going to the the Royal Womens in Randwick, as it seems to be the best for my area. Where abouts are you in Sydney? I might be able to help, as I've researched hospitals in Sydney.
Hi & welcome snowwombat; are you an Auzzie living in the UK? Just wondering after reading your 'time zone' comment
MrsMattie, how is your sister doing? I hope she's ok [fingers crossed]. I had suspected DVT once after a long distance flight, and they had to do an ultrasound on my calf. All was well though thankfully, there was no sign of a clot, often they dissolve naturally without the need for meds so I hope it's the same for your sister. I'm worried about flying myself at the moment - I need to make a long distance flight next month and you're at higher risk of DVT when you're pregnant. Also I'm worried about something going wrong even though they say it's safe to fly in the first trimester. Anyway hope your sister is ok.
Mina30 I second the hot water + fresh grated ginger + honey, yum! I add freshly squeezed lemon juice too for that hit of vitamin C to hopefully keep the nasty cold germs at bay Hope you're feeling better soon Verso BSS that's such great news about your scan! How lovely to see a heartbeat . I'm not so sure about having MS envy anymore after hearing how some of you lovely ladies are suffering - so I've now decided I've got scan envy instead, hehe
Indith - hope to see you here soon!!!
And welcome NineUnlikelyTales!
