Thread title reflects the fact that every day that passes it dawns on me a bit more

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Kaz1967 · 23/04/2008 22:23

Ok really fed up I am nearly 28 weeks and still no firm offer on this bloody house. I just want to get things moving

disneystar · 24/04/2008 07:40

butterfly elective induction ?
you mean want to be induced for your own reasons not being nosey just asking
as they actually want me to be induced early and im fighting them not to be
apparantly im quite high risk as baby will be to big im having my final growth scan in 4 weeks
my insulin jabs are quite high as diabetes unstable i actually asked him this week the question why?
why do i have to be induced is there a risk he told me there is a higher risk of stillborn as my diabetes isnt controlled also baby could get distressed if left to go full term as he will be so big apparantly my blood sugar levels affect his
after hearing this and having a think im going to agree to induction but im a bit afraid to be honest
i know its not just yet but that day is going to arrive
i guess its nerves settin in now one comforting thing though is
all of us on here is going to have to do this not just me
and look what we get at the end of it
i cant wait to hold him and see his little face i want to wait for the birth dont like that bit but gettin a bit impatient in a way now

EEC · 24/04/2008 07:59

Thanks Minkus. I am managing to slow things down a bit and feel a lot calmer this week. House is in a state, but as long as a couple of rooms are clean and habitable we should be OK.

Kaz - good luck with house offers. I hope someone comes along soon.

Disney. It sounds like you made the right choice re induction. After all you and the baby's health are the most important. How are you? Have you been able to talk things through with anyone? AAm thinking of you loads.

sweetkitty · 24/04/2008 08:03

Morning ladies

disneystar - I know an induction isn't that great but it's not the end of the world, just make sure you get pain relief as soon as you want it, there were on a few on my last thread who were induced early for diabetes and their babies were fine.

It's crazy isn't it even though you have been through it all before it doesn't really make it any better the labour thing, I'm just trying to focus on the end destination and hope the journey there isn't too traumatic.

I'm still feeling rough today have a hacking cough now which is great as everytime I have a coughing fit I pee myself upped the PFEs too, the poor baby must be traumatised all the coughing thats going on. Sinuses aren't so bad today though so thats something.

isaidno · 24/04/2008 10:38

SK - you're absolutely right about the prospect of birth still being scary. I have had 2 relatively quick and easy labours, but can't help worrying this one will all go wrong!

Libra1975 · 24/04/2008 10:59

Libralady - very jealous that you will be allowed a mobile epi, not only does my hospital not do mobile epis I have just found out that if you want a water birth then 2 midwives have to be present, so not only does the birthing pool at my hospital (there is only 1) have to be free they has to be 2 midwives free, I can imagine the chances of that are slim therefore there goes my second perferred choice. this birth thing is getting scarier and it didn't start off particularly fluffy anyway.

Kaz1967 - sending good house selling vibes, it must be so frustrating when you want to get on with things being held back.

EEC - just keep telling yourself as long as you have boobs to suck on and a place for it to sleep the baby doesn't care about the state of your house. However I can see why it is stressful for you.

SK - any point seeing your GP to see if he could give you anything for it, it must be exhausting to be pregnant and ill.

TJuice - comeon tell us your wedding plans

I think I might be getting SPD, it has felt like I had been kicked in the vagina for a couple of weeks now whilst walking around, but just bruised rather than pain. Last night whilst rolling over it was like OWWWWW.
Moaning to DH this morning he said does it hurt here, pressed down and nearly got a slap. Bum and I've been so lucky so far.
On the positive side it sounds like I have a reason to go bag shopping from these posts :D

TJuice · 24/04/2008 11:21

well, no real plans yet as i am waiting for the date to be confirmed by the authorities here. but it will be at Copenhagen Town Hall which is really beautiful and probably a super mellow affair for just me and dp, although my parents are threatening to fly over for it. Then probably a meal at this really nice Nordic michelin-starred place, Noma.

I am wondering if i have a spd - pelvic thing going on too. I have this feeling you get when you go on a really long bike ride on an uncomfortable bike - sore and achey inner thighs and buttock bones - if you know what i mean.
Tried hugging on my mahooosive spelt breast-feeding/body pillow last night and it was actually nice and not irritating.

But I keep waking up from weird dreams/nightmares. Last week i had a horrible kicking out/screaming one which woke up dp (about a monstrous thing in the attic) and last night it was about this big cloud descending over the city and I couldn't breathe. I woke up at 4am, then finally got back to sleep at 6 and then dreamt that a twister came and I was trying to run away from it with my loyal dog (don't have one)!!!!

Environmental bad dreams!!!

isaidno · 24/04/2008 11:33

just uploaded a pic of my bump if anyone wants to see!

Libra1975 · 24/04/2008 11:54

TJuice sounds lovely don't forget to take photos so you can post them here
Are you eating later in the evening? I tend to have bad dreams when I have eaten late, however I think they are also another side-effect of pregnancy!

isaidno - Proper bump! I still get looks on the tube trying to work out whether I am pregnant or just fat.

gillythekid · 24/04/2008 12:58

Just been to the physio re my pubic bone pain when walking. She was so glad I came to see her so soon, it's the dreaded SPD but shouldn't get any worse with exercises, girdle and regular physio sessions. I've seen other threads on MN where women have ignored this for several, sometimes valid reasons but ended up with years of pain beyond their pregnancies. I'd urge you all to ask your midwives for a referral at the first signs, it may not be SPD but it's worth getting it checked.
Lovely bump pics all round and great to hear nice wedding plans being laid down, I love being a Mrs, it does feel different although we lived together for 5 years first. Hope you're all healthy and happy today.

disneystar · 24/04/2008 13:32

hi all just got back from scan and hes doin ok weighs approx 2lb 4oz apparantly a bit bigger than usual for my dates but to be expected
from the top head angle you could see theres a maybe problem but from side angle perfectly normal
i guess i am biased but to me hes just beautifull even on scan he also looks very chubby and round mind you last one did he had 3 chins
another growth scan in 4 weeks but they were talking to me today at looking about 36/37 weeks.
im not very good on this pc but will trt to get the scan pics online later today
EEC i havnt talked to anyone yet basically cos there isnt anyone but i make myself feel positive and do one day at a time im managing that way
also i mentioned i have fibromyalgia before ive had it for years and doctor gave me amitryptiline i have been on it for 2 years but when i got pregnant i had to stop, ive looked online and it says do not stop dead can cause depression how come they failed to mention that to me at gp appt
but we are ok just need to rest and sleep at moment, like us all on here i guess
just going for a half hour lie down (boys on nintendo wii)i dont sleep just lie there does the trick though

twinkle1 · 24/04/2008 13:40

Disney glad the scan went so well
I will have the twins around 36 weeks, I cant belive it gives me around 10 weeks to go!!! I had the other two at just 38 weeks and thy were both fine
Try and stay positive.
Twinkle

isaidno · 24/04/2008 13:51

glad to hear scan was good disneystar x

Libra1975 · 24/04/2008 14:11

Good to hear the scan went well DS, look forward to the scan photos (is it odd to love baby scan photos?).

Twinkle will you have 2 sets of twins!!!

sweetkitty · 24/04/2008 15:31

Afternoon all sounds like we have had some good scan news

twinkle - thats great must admit part of me is a bit you know when your twins are going to be born and you will be early. A friend had twin girls by CS at 39 weeks and they were 6lbs 12ozs and 6lbs 4ozs, I can't even begin to think how big and uncomfy she was DD1 was 6lbs 3ozs and I thought I was big.

disney - great news on your scan too, will they be able to tell you for definite before he is born if there is a problem? Sounds like you need a chat with your GP as well, there are antidepressants that are safe to take in pregnancy if thats what you need, no big stigma about taking them.

gilly - I keep saying I am going to phone and see the physio I think whats putting me off is last time she was completely useless, gave me a belt, showed me some exercises and told me not to lift DD1.

isaidno - thats a great looking bump

kaz - hope the house sells soon, theres nothing worse than being desperate to start your new life someplace else and not being able to.

Still completely miserable today because of all the coughing I am doing my ribs and chest are sore now as well. Last time I was told you cannot take any cough medicine in pregnancy so theres no point really.

Have had DD2 nappyless this afternoon, so far we are 0/2, pees that is, one on the floor and one on DD1's beanbag chair!

sweetkitty · 24/04/2008 15:32

Just realised I am completely crazy, am pregnant, have SPD, a cough/cold/sinusitis and am trying to potty train a very stubborn 2 yo!

All I need is a puppy

twinkle1 · 24/04/2008 15:38

No Libra i have three other seperate children not another set of twins in there one set will be enough
Sweetkitty i had to lol, I also know im completely crazy!!!!! although i am putting off potty trainning the two year old at the min till the weather is a bit better and he can wear less clothing without the risk of hypothearmier on the plus side though, i dont have a puppy but do have 2 rabbits and 2 chickens to count?????????
keep smilling
twinkle

Libra1975 · 24/04/2008 16:26

5 children? Yes you are crazy

I am going to my first NCT class tonight. Eek, I feel like I am going to school and sitting here hoping someone likes me!

JODIEhavingababy · 24/04/2008 20:56

Hi guys, You've all been very chatty over the last couple of days, so I've forgotten what you've all said! Sorry. Although it's nice to see you back disney!

I haven't really got anything to report really, going for my 28 week appointment with the Midwife tomorrow, and as my mum is here she'll get to hear the baby's heartbeat! She's quite excited (as am I)

I have a whole heap of questions for the MW but I reckon they will all go out of my head when I'm there!

Anyway, I hope you are all well and good, and the nice weather is making you all feel abit better, I know I always feel alot less stressed when the sun's out!

Pigley I had a dream last night you were having a girl. Mt MN addiction must be getting bad if I'm dreaming about you!! And had a thought, is your sister due very soon????

pigleychez · 24/04/2008 21:13

He he Jodie
A girl- Id be happy with either flavour!

Yeah my sister is due 26th May so not too long now. Very exciting.
At least i get some newborn experience before my own

Anyone started leaking yet?? I noticed a few small drops when getting into the bath last night- that was a shock!

Had my 28 week midwife appointment today. Everythings fine although baby is measuring 30 weeks. Funny though as everyone is commenting on how tiny i am.

For the third visit now theres been sugar in my sample (this time more) so being sent off in the morning for the Lucozade blood test. Really dont like Lucozade so should be interesting!

ButterflyMcQueen · 24/04/2008 22:49

pigley! I always think you are having a boy!

Sweetkitty - ds4 has been nappyless for 6 weeks now and tbh it is easier than nappies for me

he has been my easiest to train just did it!

having said that i have ds1 doing GCSE's dd SATS ds2 SATS and ds3 in first year at school...plus we are decorating our new house until midnight every night -or should i say dp is!

I have been a real misery today after insomnia last night

was mumsnetting at 3 am poor dp i do not know how he copes with me!

Libra1975 · 25/04/2008 09:44

Morning all, it's sunny here with a nice outlook on the weekend hurrah. I hope those with aches/pains/illnesses are feeling a little better this morning, I kicked DH out of bed and into the spare room last night and am feeling rather perky now.

Anyone got anything fun/baby planned for the weekend?

No leakage yet and glad everything is fine with LO pigley.

Poledra · 25/04/2008 10:00

Had next scan for anti-E yesterday. Titre has gone down from 1:32 to 1:16 - woohoo! Baby's measurements have all moved to above average but atill in normal range, and she weighs about 2lb 11. Cerebral blood flow is within normal range but higher than last time - boo! So, they want me back for another scan in 2 weeks, though they don't think there is a problem - just want to be careful.
So, overall, quite positive, thank god. And the silver lining is I get to see lots of scans of this LO!

Kaz1967 · 25/04/2008 10:08

Well yesterday I saw the midwife again little horror tried kicking her again while she was listening for a heart beet again LOL Had my anti D as well forgotten how much it stings when it first goes in

Then I went on to college not feeling great getting lots of BH and so tired but thought I should make the effort only to find the flippin maths teacher was on strike . My tutor in the morning had told us she was but apparently they don't have although Dawn had the decency to. So I went in for absolutely f'ing nothing maks me cross because if I just did not go in no matter what the excuse I would get slapped down for it

pigleychez · 25/04/2008 10:33

Morning all,

Just back from my blood test after drinking the yucky lucozade this morning. Just have to wait for the results now.
Blood test place was heaving and i think i pissed a few people off waltzing in way before them, but hey... i dont make the rules!

Have the time off work this morning to have it done and boss said just get in when you can so being cheeky and am have a sneaky cuppa and sit down before i venture in for the day.
However i now dont wanna go into work today, especially as DH has the day off.

Tomorrow we are travelling to stay with friends for the weekend. Havent seen them since xmas when we told them i was pregnant and apparently thier 2 girls (4 and 6) have been drawing pictures for baby all week!
Should be a good weekend especially if its going to be nice.
