Happy St Patricks day!
Have just watched RTE TV presenter make an arse of himself at the St Paddy's Day Dublin Parade.
He goes up to a spectator who is dark-skinned and says
"How long have you been in Ireland?"
Spectator: "22 years"
Presenter: "And you have the accent and all, where are you from originally?"
Spectator: "I was born in Dublin"
Bloody eejit!

Still welling up.... thinkin gabout DS kissing my bump good night last night....how long does this emotional thing go on for??????

Scampmum · 17/03/2008 13:07

BR - rest of your life! Bad luck. Mine certainly isn't getting any better and if I look at my Mum the outlook is DIRE. It's awful not being able to laugh at her bursting into tears at everything because I am doing the same...

Daftmoo · 17/03/2008 13:09

sorry, forgot to add...Ted was 7lb 14oz...think he would of been a 10lb-er if I'd gone to term.

Thankyou for all the congratulations messages, you're all so lovely. I cant stop smiling

Daftmoo x

TheMaskedPoster · 17/03/2008 13:10

oh Daftmoo - well done you

am a bit weepy too after reading that (and I'm having a 'normal; non-emotional day'!)

I have RL tablets - but not taking any yet, am going to speak to the MW on Thursday to make sure it is ok (someone told me not to until 38 weeks for some reason). Also have arnica tablets at the ready too.

Was feeling very 'periody' yesterday ..not only crampy, but also incredibly tearful - however today I feel fantastic! Mind you saying that - I had a good nights sleep last night (hoo-bloody-ray) so that is probably why.

Hi to all newcomers too

WOW - good weight Daftmoo! x

Scampmum · 17/03/2008 13:15

1lb bigger than DD was at 40+3!! WOW. How big was DS1? How is bf going now?

bunnyrabbit · 17/03/2008 13:15

OMG! Why?? Am definitely more emotional after having DS but this is pathetic!!

...and then I go and look about some stupid story on BBC website about.. well I won't give you the details but very upsetting story and now I'm positively distraught and just want to go home and rescus my little man from nursery and cuddle him forever and now I'm weeling up again!!!!

VictorianPASqualor · 17/03/2008 13:22

What a lovely story.
I've actually thoguht about writing my birth story already and I probably have ages left!

PortAndLemon · 17/03/2008 13:25

Writing it already?

Something like "Well, on Friday morning I woke up, coughed gently and b%gger me if the baby didn't pop out. So DH brought me breakfast in bed..."?

If writing it ahead of time will help in some karmic manner, I'm all for it.

LOL P&L ... that is the kind of birth story I'm planning on too

AussieDivaOnABreak · 17/03/2008 13:27

Hey Daftmoo, beautiful story and thrilled that little Ted is doing well...it's amazing to me that even at 36 weeks a baby still needs that last week or two to get fully ready for the world. And to arrive into the world to "Songbird", well I thought that was really beautiful...congrats.

SuzeM, I was booked into the Malden Suite at Kingston up until a couple of weeks ago, then changed my mind and decided to go for a home birth. (My dd was a waterbirth born in a midwife led unit in Caerphilly - I lived in Cardiff four years ago). But last Tuesday I had bright red bleeding and a small clot so spent the night in the hospital for observation. All was ok tho, baby moving brilliantly and no bleeding since...but it has put a little chink in the whole home birth armour, iykwim...If late pregnancy bleeding only happens in 3-4% of cases, then what's to prevent me from ending up in a similarly rare percentage who need hopital back up during labour? I have a midwife appointment on Wednesday so I'll talk things over with her then too...

I am desperate for a cleaner! In fact I'm desperate for someone to just come over everyday, do the laundry, ironing, dishwasher, vacuuming, you name it...if this nesting thing kicks in one more time I may have to be forcibly removed from the house.

Ladies, all I can say is flapjacks, cake, chocolate, whatever - you all deserve as much loveliness right now as you can possibly eat...it's the home straight now and we deserve some compensation for the leg cramps and loo breaks at 3am, surely...

bunnyrabbit · 17/03/2008 13:34

and 1 and 4.30 and 5.30....

PortAndLemon · 17/03/2008 13:35

I'm registered at Kingston. I wanted a home birth with DS but Kingston doesn't do them in Putney (as we're officially "out of area" so I would have had to transfer to St George's and didn't want to do that, so went with the hospital option. I wound up high risk so they would probably have had reservations about a home birth anyway. I still like the idea in principle, though. IF this VBAC goes well and IF we end up having a third child, then maybe I'll give it a go (was too nervous to go for a HBAC this time round).
