thanks for the good wishes ladies I'm going to save them until tomorrow.

The hospital called and told me not to come in today.

My bed has gone to some kind of emergency. Hope it is not some horrible kind of emergency but just a lady who hasn't got time for waiting around, unlike me.

I was a bit at first, just because I think I had myself a bit worked up but now I'm happier because the deal is they'll call me in in the morning as soon as a bed is free and they'll start the process early in the day. This means DH can be with me (and my Mom), which I'd really prefer as I was not too excited about the idea of being in hospital for a night alone waiting for labour to start. I'd rather be here and in my own bed.

DH was home for the afternoon because he'd already arrived back here before we heard nothing was going to happen, so we've been for a big long walk and it was really nice

Sorry to hear you're feeling cranky AdelaideJo, I've been like that myself since yesterday. Hope your consultant appointment tomorrow is nothing to worry about

merryberry · 19/03/2008 18:04

Magic news Fn41, pure magic! Tell dad, Eddie was just keen to join in!

e14mum · 19/03/2008 19:17

Our baby girl arrived Monday at 4:30pm! She's lovely and doing well and we're home now.
However, birth was v. traumatic experience. Meconium found in waters that only burst at full dilation so had 1.5 hours of out of pool pushing that was horrible. (No pain relief!) Birth at birth centre, but transfer to hospital immediately due to tearing and blood loss. Not what I expected of course, but am so glad she's here. Hope to catch up soon. E

tori32 · 19/03/2008 21:56

Congratulations FTF and E14mum on you little bundles of joy.

good luck skidoodle hope everything goes well and your LO decides to get a move on!

adelaidejo I want to join the cranky club too. Have been horrible to dh and dd this week (well harsh on dd ). Having constant pain in my hips at night whichever side I sleep and can't seem to sleep longer than 2hrs at a time without waking up in pain/ to wee Sooo tired now. Up until this week I had nothing to moan about so since I only have 4 days til due date I think I'm entitled Although all this is said tongue in cheek- my trivial niggles have been put into perspective by feedmenows tragic news

AdelaideJo · 19/03/2008 22:16

Tori its really sad and unfair what has happened to her.

I'm determined to wake up a bit more grateful tomorrow morning.

skidoodle · 19/03/2008 22:39

congratulations e14 what wonderful news

thanks tori, I'll have a word but so far it seems to be totally ignoring me

spugs · 19/03/2008 23:20

waters have broken, got to go get checked out in an hour! looks like my due date of 20th was right not started with contractions yet but a bit crampy (and need to poo ) not looking forward to this [aghh]

iliketosleep · 19/03/2008 23:28

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh good luck spugs!!! xxx

MissingMyHeels · 19/03/2008 23:36

Ooooh how exciting spugs!

So sorry to hear about feedmenow, really puts things into perspective

Didn't mean to scare anyone with induction story think it is prob genetic in my case as my Mum, two aunts and a cousin had exactly the same thing. The woman in the bed opposite me in antenatalward had one lot of prostin, her waters broke spontaneously and her baby was born 3 hours later so it is a VERY individual thing. Good luck to all of those with it looming, even though it was awful I would do it all again a million time over and have pretty much blocked out the whole 24 hours!

Tilly is still in neo-natal and it looks like she is going to be in there a while yet, can't wait until she can come home with me as I miss her loads n loads.

mistyamica · 19/03/2008 23:37

great news e14! congratulations, and all power to those currently brewing!

i keep getting a viral collapse on my computer, think we'll have to strip and rebuild it this weekend, so if i go quiet, that's why!

spugs · 20/03/2008 12:18

tori32 · 20/03/2008 13:17

iliketosleep I can donate you a very grumpy dd so you can get practice in for the toddler phase!LOL. She weed on the floor infront of me without even asking for the toilet and hasn't done this in months showed no remorse at all which she has before .

Go spugs go!
I seem to have a very windy tum so mild cramps due to that .

Ooooh turtle, the race is on!! Who will be first?
How much raspberry leaf tea/ capsules do you consume per day for an effect? I had 5 cups last night and several capsules this AM but baby is still comfy!

turtle23 · 20/03/2008 13:28

tori..take two tablets a day..hmm..should i be upping this now? Guess it can't hurt.. I have no desire to get there before you (as long as you hurry up!)

iliketosleep · 20/03/2008 13:52

no no no no lol no toddlers just yet, i have this lot here to keep me going there!!

actually had ds off school for near enough 2 weeks with stomach bug then cold straight on top poor thing. Hes ok now though and driving me sodding loopy today! he keeps jumping on the sofa

whathavewedone · 20/03/2008 13:58

Can I add my news? Our beautiful little boy arrived on Tuesday at 18.14 weighing in at a perfect 8lb 3 oz. Had a very quick labour and delivery after being induced, but was very, very painful as midwife didn't believe me and was reluctant to give me any pain relief. Eventually had pethidine which did the trick, but he popped out just over an hour later and is still obviously quite stoned!! He has just started to breastfeed though, and so all in all, not bad. At least I've managed to rest well while he has too.

His two big sisters absolutely adore him.

I think I may have to change my nickname - was unsure how we'd cope with three, but now he's here I know we've done the right thing.

Good luck to everyone who still has to pop.

littleducks · 20/03/2008 15:19

hi everyone

mmh- hope Tilly is better soon

Its my birthday today and had hoped for a nice family walk today (get the baby done )and had arranged for my parents to babysit dd, we havent time alone together to go out since she was born but am feeling so rough that i have cancelled it all and said my mum should come round for a bit of cake instead as dd was so looking forward to seeing her.

Cant sleep at the moment, terrible acid refluxy youcky stuff despite my long serving gaviscon friend! Combined with trips to the loo and dd waking at six as even with a blackout blind and curtains her room is brighter than at noon.

Oh and its raining so thats my whinging done.

PurlyQueen · 20/03/2008 15:44

Gulp - I have just passed my mucus plug . How long to go until my waters break or contractions start for real?

HolidaysQueen · 20/03/2008 15:45

I've just got in from the hospital. Had a bit of a rubbish day although I had planned a lovely day - reflexology then pregnancy massage. I ended up having to cancel them both because at my 39 week appt this morning my GP was concerned about the fact that I have suddenly started to get swollen feet and hands, had protein in my urine, and my bp was high. So I spent 4 hours at the hospital instead...

Midwives were both lovely and efficient - had bp, urine, bloods and monitoring done really quickly - but then had to wait 2 hours for blood results before doctor could sign me off. My bp was of course back to normal by the time they had given me 30 mins to sit still and dr reckons protein is left over from the urine infection they've just been treating. But as ever with these things, they end up finding other stuff to worry about - so my iron is low, and they were concerned when I said the baby's movements tend to differ each day and that he'd had a couple of quieter days in a row this week. This is fairly normal for my baby over the past few months - some days he's the Dalai Lama, other days he's Mike Tyson - although even I was a bit worried last night as he was so lethargic. Anyway he gave the dr a few good kicks when she tried to measure my bump, so she seemed a bit more relaxed after that.

So he and I are okay, but I have to go back the next time the baby goes quiet for more monitoring, which given he is quiet about one day in 3 means I could be back in there quite soon...

Oh and they claim he's only 2/5 even though he was 3/5 two weeks ago and my bump has dropped hugely since then. So I don't think he's planning an imminent arrival.

Sigh. Thank heavens the end is in sight.

HolidaysQueen · 20/03/2008 15:46

Oooh well done Purly - hopefully for you it will be quite soon (maybe just hours or next couple of days). I however passed mine over 15 days ago and am still waiting... But if I'm at one end of the spectrum then there is a very good chance you are at the other end and it will kick off for you much sooner

turtle23 · 20/03/2008 15:49

PQ- It's a step forward, but could be anything from 5 minutes to...hmm...judging by this thread a month! Just relax!
