Babes in Scotland this year - shall we have our own thread?

Hi, I can't see any up to date antenatal threads for mums to be in Scotland, anyone want to join in this one? I think there are a few Scottish mums on the due in June thread, so I wondered if we should have our very own for all of this year's Scottish crop?

We have a bundle

Martha arrived earlier this evening, a very healthy 8lb 13oz. Rather faster than we were expecting, but safely in the hospital. And with only gas'n'air and a TENS for pain relief.

One very proud hubby and daddy.

oh - I posted for northeastmummy a few days ago. She had her baby girl last saturday at 8pm, Hope Olivia, and they are at home now and doing well. I'm hoping to drop by her house tomorrow to meet Hope!

aberdeenhiker, I remember now sorry

in my defence am working on sleep deprivation due to dd2 coughing like she smokes 20 B&H a day from 4am onwards, she is of course now sleeping very peacefully while I am up seeing to dd1!

send her our congratulations!

My abbreviated birth story:

I had a sweep on Friday morning and by 4.30am on Saturday morning I was feeling really mild contractions. I wasn't sure if they were it or not because they were very similar to a couple of days before and that had come to nothing.

So, met up with aberdeen and family, went to the park, had coffee and lunch at our house then went to bed for an hour. After my nap the contractions felt a bit stronger so I had a shower and put my tens on. That was 4pm. At 6.15pm I phoned the hospital to say I'd like to come in and they told me to stay at home a bit longer if I could. At 6.45pm I phoned again and they said to come in.

The journey to the hospital was AGONY - whose bright idea was it to put speed bumps around the maternity hospital???? I had contractions in the car park, at reception, in the waiting room ... and by the time I was in the midwives unit they were coming every 1 1/2 minutes.

I tried gas and air which I had hated in my first labour, and it was fine so I stuck with that. After 40 minutes the midwife checked me and I was fully dilated so she broke my waters. 20 minutes later Hope came kicking and screaming into the world ... and she kept screaming for about half an hour. I thought I was doomed!!

Fortunately she stopped that pretty quickly, has taken to b/f much better than DD1, and is such a poppet. I've put a couple of pics on my profile.

I think that about covers it .

I notice that soph28 had a baby girl Robyn on the 1rst of may I think from the antenatal april thread. So congratulations to her.
