We got our positive today. Looks like my due date would be 8th September going off period date but 14th September going off ovulation.

Anyone else get BFP for September baby?

@Rainbowbubba23 yeah my boss has known since I've known, about week 5. I work with anaesthetic gases, handling drugs, taking X-rays and handling chemo so I had to tell them for health and safety reasons. I've also had to have time off with HG recently to. My boss was a bit of an arse (she didn't look up from her computer during the conversation and still asks me to do stuff I can't do or is super dismissive towards me when about tasks with no in between, she made a big song and dance about her pregnancy a few years ago and said that everyone probably hated her for being pregnant) but my line managers and colleagues have been super helpful and supportive!

FarmBaby3 · 26/01/2023 20:57

I've not told them yet but I might need to soon. I would like to hold off as long as possible.

I had a very akward one at work. My boss came to me saying I might be bang out of order but baby fever has hit the workplace and I know it was in your plans so are you? I had literally got my positive the day before and hadn't even processed ot myself.

winningeasy · 26/01/2023 22:49

@BriannaLou that's completely illegal to ask that!

Jane1284 · 27/01/2023 09:45

Wow @BriannaLou - yes they most definitely can't ask that! What did you say? I don't know how I would react.

Hi everyone, I am 6+3 with my first. I am incredibly anxious but also very happy as this is all I have ever dreamed of. I am wondering if everyone has their first booking in appt already? My doctor referred me at 4 weeks but I have still heard nothing. Is the first appt normally at 8 weeks? xx

Our local authority guidelines say 8-10 weeks.

My booking in appointment isn't until Wednesday next week and I'm over 7 weeks. I think my dates will change at the scan though

@KTC29 in our area, it's between 8-10 weeks. I've got mine next week and I'll be about 8+3. Maybe query with GP to see if it's being processed as my appointment came through within a couple of days of me self-referring.

KTC29 · 27/01/2023 10:57

Thanks all, I have just phoned the hospital and they have booked in my dating scan and still waiting on the booking in appt, have been asked to go and get the booking in blood tests done though. I have booked a private scan for 7+4, I dont think i can wait any longer. it is such a fine line of letting self get excited vs worrying - need someone to tell me it is real! Is anyone else over thinking every little twinge and finding the wait to 12 weeks an anxious time? Keep thinking maybe I should tell some family/friends if it will make it easier xx

froglou · 27/01/2023 11:31

Had my booking appointment today, lots of blood taking and a very long questionnaire about family and personal history! Already been pencilled in for extra bloods and appointments because of mine and families medical history! Much less stressful this time round so far despite being physically sick more, appointment last time look well over an hour this time it was under. I have started getting period type cramps midwife said not to worry unless I start bleeding or it's painful enough to stop me doing daily activities so hopefully that's ok!
Just over 3 weeks till my scan now (hoping that'll be quicker this time two took about 2/3 hours last time!) hope everyone gets there's sorted soon!

SLT91 · 27/01/2023 11:35

@KTC29 i am the same as you at 6+3! Congrats! I have my booking app at a local health centre and it’s not until I’m 11+1! I thought this was so late and I was worried so I contacted them they basically just said they’re so booked up and it’s the closest they could get annoyingly. I have my first NHS scan when I’ll be 13 weeks exactly so it all seems a bit late in my eyes but not much I can do! I haven’t been asked anything about bloods for the booking in appointment.
I too am extremely anxious about every little thing and have a private scan booked at 8 weeks as I can’t possibly wait until week 13!!

KTC29 · 27/01/2023 11:40

@SLT91 ah congrats!! How are you feeling aside from the anxiety? I have had the start of morning sickness this week and some cramping but nothing too awful. Have you told anyone yet? I keep going to tell my mum but then stop myself to wait until 12 weeks when we hit the first big milestone. I am sure it will come round quickly, least I keep telling myself that anyway!! That is annoying that your appts are a little later, but good you have the private scan at 8 weeks! xx

SLT91 · 27/01/2023 12:12

@KTC29 thank you! Up until now I only had sore boobs but as soon as week 6 hit I’ve been SO nauseous. Haven’t been sick but the nausea is pretty constant on and off all day/night 😬and a bit of lower back pain.
im finding it really hard not to tell my family are we very close but I really do want to wait until the 12 week scan! However I am thinking of telling my boss next week- Time is going slooooow lol

KTC29 · 27/01/2023 12:37

@SLT91 I have been thinking about work too, if the morning sickness got worse. I have been trying to work from home as much as possible and sneak in a lunchtime nap! I am struggling with a good diet with the sickness are you? Trying to pack in some smoothies to get some vits in! xx I hope the weeks start to move faster!!! Hopefully after our 8 week scans it will start to after some reassurance xx

SLT91 · 27/01/2023 13:24

@KTC29 that’s a great idea about smoothies as I’m really struggling too and I’m usually quite healthy! My diet has been very very beige….. fingers crossed for our early scans- really trying to stay positive and not let anxiety take over, I’m sure we’ll keep eachother informed! Xx

kizzy97 · 27/01/2023 15:47

Had a phone call for my booking appointment, will be having it next Friday at 9 weeks on the dot xx

treehousethunderstorm · 27/01/2023 15:52

Had an early scan today at 7+1, measuring 6+1. One little bean visible with a good heartbeat and one empty gestational sac. Guess that means that one will be reabsorbed?

Laul89 · 27/01/2023 18:13

Hi, hope everyone is keeping well 🥰

I’m definitely feeling like I can’t wait until the 12 week scan now so I’m tempted to book in for a private one on 5th Feb when I’ll be 6+6 according to day of last period… do you think this will be ok or am I better off waiting a little longer? There’s limited availability and we are due to go away on a boozy weekend with our friends on 10th Feb so I’m going to have to tell them then (or they’ll guess anyway!) and I’d rather have had the scan beforehand to ease my anxiety 🤯 worried I go and they say it’s too early to see anything based on the nhs website dating me nearly a week behind cos of my cycle length!

@Jane1284 when is your scan booked for? x

Laul89 · 27/01/2023 18:15

So exciting that everyone’s appointment dates are starting to come through! 🥰

@froglou thats reassuring about the cramps as I had a lot of them the days before I got my BFP, but they seem to have eased now, which is also a worry - we can’t win 🤣

krissy12 · 27/01/2023 18:56

@Laul89 they might do an internal scan they can see so much more at this stage if they do an internal one

BriannaLou · 27/01/2023 21:51

Jane1284 · 27/01/2023 09:45

Wow @BriannaLou - yes they most definitely can't ask that! What did you say? I don't know how I would react.

I know. I was dumbfounded. I really didn't know what to say at first but did end up saying I had a very early positive test but it was too soon and I wasn't intending to inform her for another 8 weeks.

Jane1284 · 28/01/2023 08:14

@Laul89 I have the same worries. My scan is booked for 7+1 based on last lmp but NHS is putting me at almost a week later when I use their calc. I was contemplating moving my scan but I’m too impatient to wait so I’m just hopeful I see something positive to put my mind at ease. Scan is next Friday on the 3rd. So similar time to yours. I’ll let you know how it goes!

@BriannaLou that’s so bad! Puts you in such an awkward position as you don’t want to lie but also should be able to decide when to tell them. I had to tell my boss before any of our family with our first pregnancy as my colleague resigned and they wanted me to takeover. I felt so bad not telling him so just blurted it out.

froglou · 28/01/2023 08:28

After talking about the cramps yesterday, last night and this morning was the first time I haven't had horrendous nausea and vomiting... should I be worried?

Laul89 · 28/01/2023 08:37

@Jane1284 thank you! I think they say it’s best to wait till 7 weeks and the websites I’ve been on ask to calculate it from your last missed period so hopefully it’ll be fine ☺️ I haven’t booked it yet, still toying with the idea 🤯🤣

@froglou everything I’ve read online says symptoms can come & go so try not to worry. I know it’s easier said than done! My boobs don’t seem to hurt during the day but do overnight for some reason?!
