Ahh a baby boy! Congratulations @Cuppasoupmonster 💙

Mummy256 · 23/11/2022 20:01

Hi @BeingHappy thank you for your message. I suppose just had to wait and see what happens.
Really hope I won't get covid. I had it few months before I got pregnant and it wasn't nice.

@Cuppasoupmonster congratulations on your boy 💙. Really hope they will just say that it was a human error and you'll be able to relax.

AliceinSlumberland · 23/11/2022 20:13

@Cuppasoupmonster glad you got an answer of sorts, just see what the blood test says, fingers crossed it’s literally jsut human error. What a horrible couple of days for you.

@Tubbytele ive got a B belly too, gets me down a bit sometimes especially as when I google it, it’s mostly ladies who are very overweight and I’m not so I kind of feel entitled to a nice D lol. It looks fine in clothes, I just won’t be doing any bare bump pics lol as I just look like I’ve got a beer gut!

I had my whooping cough vaccine a week ago tomorrow, and it’s still sore and itchy.. that’s not normal is it… wondering if I need to tell anyone or whether I’ve just been unlucky and had a bit of a reaction.

Tubbytele · 23/11/2022 20:30

@AliceinSlumberlandI'm hoping the B belly will change as baby gets bigger!

AliceinSlumberland · 23/11/2022 20:32

Me too!! I’ve heard that they can curve out 🤞

Chocolat · 23/11/2022 20:35

@Cuppasoupmonster sounds positive, congrats on the boy 💙

PiggyBean · 23/11/2022 20:55

bluebubbles12 · 23/11/2022 21:40

Congratulations on your boys @OttilieKnackered and @Cuppasoupmonster. I hope you get your blood test results soon so that you can hopefully put all of this behind you and move on excitedly planning for your baby boy x

Tubbytele · 23/11/2022 21:55

xalexandra · 23/11/2022 22:06

Chocolat · 23/11/2022 22:08

I’m 21+2 and still don’t think I’ve felt movement 😔. I thought I had but I think it’s just wind now. He was also quite big on the 74th centile and I was slim around size 8-10. My placenta is anterior though but I’m getting impatient now.

Also been more hormonal as my stomach is growing exponentially every day I’m starting to feel more insecure about the way I look. DH is very flattering still but we do dtd a lot less think it’s been about 2 weeks now 😅 which doesn’t help. He’s also going to a restaurant with a friend tomorrow that I originally wanted to go to but DH couldn’t be bothered travelling into city centre for 🫤. I think I’m just hormonal lol

BeingHappy · 24/11/2022 03:22

@Cuppasoupmonster so happy for your positive news! And many congratulations on your little boy 💙

BeingHappy · 24/11/2022 03:24

@Chocolat I'm 21+3 and also feeling very unclear about whether it is flutters I'm feeling or not. And it's pretty infrequent, sometimes not even once a day. Baby moved very little in the 20wk scan too but sonographer didn't seem to think it was an issue.

Peachesthecat · 24/11/2022 06:27

Movement is driving me crazy! 18 weeks. Tuesday loads! Two big definite kicks as well as loads of usual thumps inside. Nothing since! All I do I try and feel the baby…..I’m losing the plot 🤯 being really mindful to not panic as I know this is pretty normal for 18 but it’s hard sometimes to not have a panic!

PuddingBear · 24/11/2022 07:08

@Chocolat I didn’t feel anything with my first until gone 24 weeks!

@Peachesthecat 18 weeks is still very early to feel movement, particularly in a first pregnancy, so it’s going to be inconsistent for a few more weeks yet 😊

Indianna2006 · 24/11/2022 08:48

Congrats @Cuppasoupmonster let’s hope for just a fluke on the girl nipt.

yes movements at 18 @Peachesthecat can still be random. There still small enough to move like into a black hole area where you can’t feel them.

this is my second and now at 18+5 last few days I’m feeling her everyday and more obvious kicks. But my placenta is posterior this time.

Jexi · 24/11/2022 09:17

Amazon have price matched boots for the MAM starter set. Down to £28.67 Usually £35-£42 in Argos, Smyths etc.

But boots also have save £5 for every £30 you spend on baby as well so I've just ordered the MAM set and a pack of MAM dummies for £29.

Jexi · 24/11/2022 09:18

OK amazon have price matched that £5 off £30 offer too 🤣

MamaMenna · 24/11/2022 09:45

I started looking into wraps for baby wearing and have decided to go hard-core and get a woven wrap. Anyone wanting to nerd out on baby wrapping, this seems like a good place:

Skylark1990 · 24/11/2022 09:58

Very glad the scan was super clear @Cuppasoupmonster and congratulations on your little boy! I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm pretty confident NIPT will come back BOY this time. What was the information they said they'd give you, about the lab??

@Chocolat sorry you are feeling a bit emotional and uncomfortable in your new body. Just remember, you're not putting on weight per se, you are growing a baby! It's a wonderful, transient thing and a baby bump is lovely IMO! Even if it means sex goes on the back burner a bit for a while (likely to once baby arrives too!) that by no way means you won't go back to being intimate more regularly - everything is a season! So try not to worry and embrace the changes if you can :) If it makes you feel better, DH and I still actually haven't had sex since I found out I was pregnant! I sometimes feel worried about it, but I know that it's just because I was so ill till 16 weeks, then ill with gastritis, recently I've had bad PGP, now we have the 20 week scan result to worry about, and DH is also sleeping in DD's room atm due to her being unwell recently, and because I needed undisturbed sleep when I had pregnancy sickness so anyway, loads of reasons... I know it doens't mean we never want to but the timing/opportunity doesn't feel right. By nightfall we are both exhausted 😅and DD isn't napping anymore so no opportunity in the day 😅unless we took an hour out from work.... 😉btu work is busy for us both too so... yeah.

ancienthouse · 24/11/2022 10:03

@Cuppasoupmonster I'm glad the scan was conclusive, although I guess you can't really relax until you get the NIPT results. Hopefully the first ones were just a mix up or didn't detect the male DNA.

@MamaMenna woven wraps are amazing! I have a few. I used to carry DS around all day in one out and about, until he got too heavy for my front. I never mastered back wraps so I got a soft carrier then. I'm going to try to learn back wraps this time around!

ancienthouse · 24/11/2022 10:10

@Chocolat it can be hard to see your body changing. I love my expanding bump because it gives me a reason to show off my tummy for a change! But I struggle a bit with varicose veins on my legs and some other pregnancy changes. It's all temporary and once you've had the baby you will hopefully be so amazed at what your body did that you'll love it however it looks. I'm much more body positive since having DS than I was before!

I have my cervical scan today so fingers crossed that's all OK! I've been reluctant to do anything intimate until I know it's fine.

Cuppasoupmonster · 24/11/2022 10:22

Thanks everyone. The lab has said in 1% of cases they get it wrong because they don’t extensively check the whole genome, because it’s too costly and time consuming, just a portion of it so occasionally they can miss something. Or something like that Confused I suppose somebody has to be that 1.

I’m in a much better place mentally this morning and feel back on track with the pregnancy, if that makes sense. DH seems to be fine and is already talking about taking his son to the football (he tried with DD but she hates it and cries when he puts it on!) and watching Star Wars together 😂
