@Gilm0reGirl I know. We were happy either way. Really didn’t care. I’d of loved to have been a boy mum and thought I always would be before I had DD.

but something feels special about having two girls and sisters. Maybe because I’m one of two girls. And my sister is my best friend.

also as there will be 5 year age gap between them I feel like as two girls they will be closer than DD and a boy 5 years younger may have been. As they will have more in common for longer. Ie 9 year old DD can do 4 year old DDs makeup and dressing up play etc. so I’m pleased 🥰

blessed either way though. Happy and health is all we need 🥰

Skylark1990 · 14/11/2022 09:52

Congrats @Indianna2006 !
Best of luck for your scans @Chocolat and @bluebubbles12 !
Mine is in one week.... wishing the time away a little!

Longbin · 14/11/2022 10:10

Off for my scan in an hour! I wasn't going to take my husband but after everyone's recent posts the nerves got me and I managed to get last minute childcare. Will let you all know how it goes!

LauraA31 · 14/11/2022 10:11

Thank you all! 😅
congratulations @Indianna2006.

I was so shocked when girl was announced, i was certain we were having a boy, we didnt mind at all what we were having but boyfriend is absolutely overjoyed; i think deep down he wanted a little girl! Baby in true fashion made us work for the results ha, i had to jump up and down, go for a 15 minute fast walk, drink a sugary drink and do the hip wiggle, but three little lines are there and she’s a girl! 😂

I have struggled so much with my chest for the past three weeks, GP has given me antibiotics this morning as she felt the chest infection had gone on too long so fingers crossed i start to feel better now!

Hope everybody is doing ok and good luck for all the 20 week scans!

Oh also its KennAdams, had a name change. 😊

MamaMenna · 14/11/2022 12:43

Anyone found any pinafore dresses with stretchy side panels for growing room by any chance? I thought they were a thing but can't find any.

PiggyBean · 14/11/2022 13:57

Congratulations @Indianna2006 and @bluebubbles12

@Longbin and @Chocolat good luck with your scans!

Mine isn't until early December, seems so far away!

xalexandra · 14/11/2022 14:49

Had my scan! My placenta is low lying so have to go back at 32 weeks to check it's moved. Apparently it should do though.

bluebubbles12 · 14/11/2022 17:03

Does anyone have any recommendations for maternity swimming costumes? I've tried about 10 different ones and NONE of them are appropriate for taking my daughter to a swimming lesson. I don't want to walk round with my arse on show looking like I should be in a beach club in Marbella 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

ancienthouse · 14/11/2022 17:15

@bluebubbles12 how about a maternity tankini, then you can get fuller coverage bottoms? I've been looking at getting something so I can go swimming.
www.welovefrugi.com/gbr/tyra-maternity-tankini-daffodil-stripe-sws215dfs

I might get this as it's cheap but maybe a bit bright!

bluebubbles12 · 14/11/2022 17:28

@ancienthouse I hadn't considered a tankini actually. Good idea! Thank you, I will have a proper look around.

Cuppasoupmonster · 14/11/2022 18:06

@Longbin glad the scan went well! Fingers crossed it moves, it sounds like they think it will.

I bought a maternity tankini from Vinted, about to leave for my first pregnancy swim class 😊

Hannah223344 · 14/11/2022 18:51

@bluebubbles12 Cupshe do some lovely swimsuits - I don't know if they do maternity specific, but they do have a lovely selection of full body/tankinis/bikinis for all shapes and sizes

PiggyBean · 14/11/2022 19:36

Loveleggings have a Black Friday sale on now! Finally took the plunge and made a big order 😅

allfurcoatnoknickers · 14/11/2022 20:41

I just bought a massive cashmere scarf/shawl in the sales for the purposes of bump hiding at the office. It was about 80% off and I'd never, EVER normally be able to afford something so spendy, so I snapped it up.

Luckily the temperature just dropped dramatically here, so I'm able to get away with wrapping myself in layers of cardigans, scarves and shawls to hide my thickening midsection.

Trying to make it another 6 weeks without telling work...

lj2022 · 14/11/2022 21:57

Does anyone know where does nice maternity dresses. I have a baby shower to go to soon and have no clue where to start looking for a nice dress

Skylark1990 · 15/11/2022 09:30

Hi everyone, hope all is well! I'm feeling a bit down ATM due to various symptoms such as pgp but looking forward to the 20 week scan next week, and a bit nervous of course!

@lj2022 Seraphine has some nice maternity dresses especially for fancy occasions!

@allfurcoatnoknickers that shawl sounds lovely!

Maternity swimsuits - I got one off ASOS when pregnant with DD and it covers quite a bit!

Skylark1990 · 15/11/2022 10:28

Hey all - I have just been reading some good reviews of the Joie pushchairs - the Versatrax was mentioned and I had a look and it looks very good! They have a nice sage green colour too. uk.joiebaby.com/product/versatrax/

Thought I'd share. It's on sale at mamas&papas and you can add a carry cot for under £100. www.mamasandpapas.com/products/joie-versatrax-pushchair-6235z5400?source=aw&utm_source=awin&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=Hatch&awc=6526_1668508050_80e2e97cf7b892e551eb4f4d9531218f&sv_campaign_id=155280&sv_tax1=affiliate&sv_tax3=Hatch+BV&sv_tax4=0&sv_affiliate_id=155280

If I didn't already have a travel system from DD i think it would be a contender!

I've been hunting for maternity dress and can't seem to find what I'm looking for 😒 in the end I've opted for some non-maternity M&S dresses that I hope will flatter bump - Next & River Island also had some nice options.
