@lj2022 with my DC1, emotions and crying hit me like a freight train in 3rd trimester, I remember sobbing down the phone to our house insurance company at 38w, poor woman on the other end of the phone!l didn't know what to say!

But this time around - wow the emotions have hit so much earlier! I sobbed a lot this past week too and for no real or apparent reason either!

Skylark1990 · 13/11/2022 10:48

Good idea to get checked out @xalexandra !

Interesting that a few of us have been checked out! Shows how common lumpy boobs are in Pregnancy, but also how it's always good to check.

Can report back that the bbhugme pillow is very comfy.

Skylark1990 · 13/11/2022 10:49

Pgp / SPD pain - anyone else? What has helped you if you have it? I've got it quite badly ATM 😫 I am seeing a physio and will try to being my appointment fwd to see her early next week as it's pretty sore, but just wondering if anyone has tips...
I have the serola support belt but not sure how helpful it is.

AliceinSlumberland · 13/11/2022 12:43

I need to catch up on this thread but just jumping in to ask @Skylark1990 how did the symptoms start for you? Wondering if this is what I’m starting to get if I do a lot of walking… had a busy weekend with lots of steps and I’m struggling now.

Skylark1990 · 13/11/2022 13:20

@AliceinSlumberland I have a bit of a predisposition for hip / sacrum pain (have had sciatica in the past and had v tight hi flexers and my sacrum was a bit unaligned following birth of DD) so it started with very sore and tight hips/ glute area, and now it is sometimes going down into my left inner thigh. I think the classic PGD symptoms include pain in one or both of the inner thighs and yes often is worse if walked a lot or lifted heavy stuff etc. But any pain in your pelvic region if it's recurring / chronic can count. What does your pain feel like? If you can I'd pay to see a private physio who specializes in pregnancy, the NHS waitlist are often v long for physio... Good to get on top of it early!

AliceinSlumberland · 13/11/2022 13:52

@Skylark1990 I’d describe it has tightness and pressure in my pelvis/groin area, like on the inside, feels quite stiff and harder to seperate my legs. Do you need like a pregnancy specific private physio? Definitely something I’d happily pay for if it’ll help.

Skylark1990 · 13/11/2022 15:54

@AliceinSlumberland I see a physio who does everything but has experience/ specialism in pregnancy so I think that's helpful just so they know how the body changes etc.

lj2022 · 13/11/2022 16:43

@Margo34 sorry to hear the emotions have got you earlier this time. I know the reasons mines are heightened but omg I never thought I'd cry so hard over having to deal with basic life obstacles 😳

lj2022 · 13/11/2022 16:45

@Skylark1990 @AliceinSlumberland I'm waiting to see a physio for my pelvic pain. It's been bad since around week 13 but slowly getting worse. I honestly think it contributed to me peeing when I sneezed 😳

AliceinSlumberland · 13/11/2022 16:46

@Skylark1990 that’s interesting thanks, some people have recommended an osteopath too… might be worth looking into.

Springblooms08 · 13/11/2022 17:04

I feel you ladies on the discomfort and pain. My back and neck is in bits and I don’t know why. Also seeing a physio next week and praying they can help somehow as I’m just so uncomfortable all the time

OttilieKnackered · 13/11/2022 17:33

Hi all. I had finally started feeling what I think is baby moving this week (19+3 today), but nothing today. I could swear my bump is smaller too.

Is this normal or should I contact someone?

Longbin · 13/11/2022 17:41

@OttilieKnackered I don't feel the baby every day yet and I'm 19+6, started feeling the baby every now and again about 2 weeks ago. I was told by the midwife not to worry about regular movements until around 24 weeks

OttilieKnackered · 13/11/2022 17:46

@Longbin thanks so much! I waited so long to feel him/her (compared to some) that I’ve panicked.

I think I have BV as well which I know is linked to miscarriage is very rare cases so just psyching myself out.

Chocolat · 13/11/2022 20:11

Hi all just catching up, hope everyone’s well 🥰.

@OttilieKnackered hi, I’m 20 weeks tomorrow 🤯 and have felt nothing so far! Scan in 2 days though.

Anyone with previous DC/had their 20 week scan, anyone know what to expect? How long does it take? Do they print out a picture or let you record etc? And do you need a full bladder?

MamaMenna · 13/11/2022 20:14

@OttilieKnackered I don't know but from what I hear sporadic movements just felt now and then are the norm to begin with. As to smaller bump, is it dramatic or just fractional? Mine gets bigger as the day goes on.

Sorry some are struggling with emotions and / or backs and pelvises. I fell and injured myself 4 years ago and haven't been 100% since, but my last pregnancy massively aggrevated it and I can feel it getting worse again with this one. I did see a back doctor thinking it was my tail bone, but I think now it's my pelvis so am spurred on by you to see if my obgyn will send me to see a physio. While i dont think it's specifically pgp it would be great if I can improve it and it does seem to be that region.

MamaMenna · 13/11/2022 20:19

@Chocolat my 20 week scan took much longer than 12 week, it was a really thorough check of all baby's key organs. I got photos and was told to take a video for husband since it was covid times and I went alone. It was a really nice experience. Can't remember on the bladder front, but better to go full and have the option to empty than go empty and it would have been better full! I went to my 12 week scan on full and was told it was helpful.

Chocolat · 13/11/2022 20:33

@MamaMenna thank you that’s useful to know. I’m glad to hear you had a good experience during covid times, I can imagine it being really difficult going without support to the ‘big’ scan.

haha mine was too full on the 12 week scan and I was asked to empty a bit, didn’t think it was possible at first 😂

ancienthouse · 13/11/2022 20:55

@Chocolat the 20 week scan usually takes longer because they have a lot more to check. I think the full bladder thing varies - my hospital only asks for full bladder before 16 weeks. Same with recording, mine has signs saying no mobile phones in the scan room. They do print photos though.

Last time I had to have two 20 week scans because during the first one DS had his hands over his face the whole time so they couldn't check the facial measurements they needed.

Cuppasoupmonster · 13/11/2022 20:57

The 20 week scan is much more in depth than the 12 week. Don’t be concerned if the sonographer goes very quiet and ‘serious’ for a while, it doesn’t mean anything is wrong, they just concentrate very hard and tend to take all the measurements before telling you how things are looking (in my experience anyway).

Here's more detail about what they measure at the 20 week scan if anyone is interested!

bluebubbles12 · 14/11/2022 07:24

20 week scan in a couple of hours! Eeeekkkk, so excited!!

@Chocolat from memory, I think baby is big enough now to not need a full bladder. Good luck with yours!

Indianna2006 · 14/11/2022 09:17

I have a viral throat infection and feel rubbish! Ugh! Trying to avoid taking paracetamol as well even though your allowed. But just feel rubbish.
