That’s a fab line @thelma57

With my first baby I had my booking in appt and they arranged my scan at that appt. Not sure how other trusts do it.

does anyone else have constant 24/7 nausea? I’d rather be sick than just constantly feeling sick 🤢 feel very very fortunate to be in this position but I don’t remember feeling soooo sick and drained with my toddler xx

MendaciousMabel · 13/11/2022 07:47

@bubble55 yep nausea is kicking my ass atm. I really struggled yesterday so dreading the same again today...

GGxxx · 13/11/2022 08:07

Hiya I have just found out too I am due 20th July! Congratulations to every one on the group 💙

PinkPink1 · 13/11/2022 08:33

@thelma57 I think I’m 7 weeks. How do you book a scan? Do you have to see a midwife first? My midwife appointment is in 2 weeks.

thelma57 · 13/11/2022 08:38

Hi @PinkPink1 first of all congratulations!

I think it depends where you live but where I am
we have a direct to midwife line that you can call as soon as you find out and they get a local midwife to call you back, on that call they’ve booked me in for my screening tests when i’ll be 8 weeks 🤞 and confirm your hospital and I think they send something off and then I’ll get a letter confirming the date of my scan! X

Thanks! Nothing like that here. Midwife has booked me in for my first appointment. No mention of screening tests and scans. I think I’ll be 8 1/2 weeks by the time I see her.

Lizmw · 13/11/2022 15:36

We self refer in my area and they said they would contact me when I am about 10 weeks. It seems so long to wait. Anyone else feel like they have done sit ups and abs are aching?

Also when are you going to tell work that you're pregnant? I work in a meal health hospital and sometimes work with dangerous patients. When would I tell work? I am 6 weeks on Tuesday

dunkedbiscuit · 13/11/2022 16:08

@Lizmw I sometimes work with some high risk individuals / volatile situations so have told my manager already, but no one else at work knows. We’re also friends outside of work and she knows all about our journey getting here with losses so it didn’t feel so weird telling her? Funny how it almost makes it feel more real once you utter those words to someone else!

Lizmw · 13/11/2022 16:21

Would it be worth me telling my manager even though its still so early? I work in a medium secure hospital. I feel 6 weeks is early to tell others but this is my first time so I jave no idea!
Yes we told our parents and siblings and it makes it so much more real

Daniki · 13/11/2022 17:20

@Lizmw if you're job has any risks I would tell your manager at the least. In my job there's certain things you can't do pregnant so I have told my manager and she makes sure I don't have those jobs to do x

EK81 · 13/11/2022 17:28

Hi! I’m 5 weeks 3 days & have very little symptoms. Missed period. Been sick once. Nothing else.

worried about minimal symptoms! Have had a previous loss so have an nhs scan at 7 weeks.

rach971 · 14/11/2022 00:51

Hi everyone ☺️ 10dpo and just found out I'm pregnant (due 27th July). I have a 7 year old daughter, then I had a MMC three months ago. It took nearly two months for my HCG to come down so we've only just started trying again. So excited but so anxious about the whole thing 😫

Rpsches917 · 14/11/2022 06:39

Hi everyone,

Hope it's OK to join you all! Just found out yesterday we are expecting 23/07/23. We had a chemical pregnancy in May and ever since it's been really difficult for us as a couple to move forwards, so I'm really hoping everything goes OK this time.

I already feel different to the last time, so keeping everything crossed. Hope you are all doing well so far xx

GGxxx · 14/11/2022 07:50

Congratulations @Rpsches917 so sorry about your chemical pregnancy.
How many days where you when you had your chemical last time? I am so nervous this time I forgot how worrying the first trimester is, I’m glad your feeling a lot differently this time seems positive xx

I was about 6 weeks last time before the sickness started so you might still be too early for symptoms. I'm 5 weeks now so totally expecting it to hit me soon!

heartbroken22 · 14/11/2022 08:59

I'm 6 weeks and one day today And nausea had hit hard. I keep having chewing gum and half a biscuit to make it go away. It's going to be awful as I wake up early to do the morning school run. Maybe it's a good thing that I have to get up and put something in my mouth. Not too happy with the dizzy feeling though.

Daniki · 14/11/2022 09:07

Heading for an early scan now at 10.15, I'm 7 weeks today! Spotting seems to have stopped and I was sick this morning so hoping it was nothing. Altho I can't shake the horrible feeling it will be like my last mc in august, had an early scan all ok and still lost it a week later 🥴 if it's ok I might ask for progesterone is anyone on it?

Butterfliesandroses · 14/11/2022 12:23

@rach971 Welcome! This is also my first pregnancy since a MMC. I couldn't have anticipated how anxious I would be in the first trimester. Hope you are doing well 😊

RainbowSearching · 14/11/2022 12:32

Anxiety has well and truly gripped me. Everything is triggering - every drop in resting heart rate, every stomach ache, the lack of symptoms.

This is so unfair. All I want is a healthy pregnancy but after 3 miscarriages I no longer have faith in my own body.

Rpsches917 · 14/11/2022 12:37

Hi @GGxxx i was only 5 weeks last time when I found out so am still sitting here wondering when it’s going to go wrong 🤦🏻‍♀️ But just little things that I didn’t have last time and no bleeding at all whereas I had some spotting from the day I was due for about a week, I then realised it wasn’t meant to be. If I hadn’t tested early I’d have never known I was pregnant whereas this time I just feel strange…!

Fingers crossed for a smooth journey this time 🤞🏻

Daniki · 14/11/2022 12:51

Just had my scan and there was a heartbeat 💗 turns out I'm actually 6+1. I don't think the nerves will fully leave until I have my 12 week scan!

@RainbowSearching wishing you all the best, the anxiety is horrible. I have been having acupuncture and found it has helped me! 🙂

Congrats! Was this a private scan? I’m also 6 weeks (I think) and haven’t heard anything about a scan yet. I see a midwife in 2 weeks.

Daniki · 14/11/2022 12:58

@PinkPink1 it was in the early pregnancy unit (in Ireland) they offer a reassurance scan at 7 weeks if you have had a previous miscarriage, I was spotting all wknd so rang them this morn and they got me in straight away! She reckons it was implantation bleeding x

Thank you! How far along are you? ☺️

Ballygowenwater · 14/11/2022 13:38

Hello. I think I’ll be joining you on the July train. I’m in theory 5+3 today and due on the 13th but I know I ovulated later so I may be earlier.

@Daniki im also in Ireland, but had my first in England so would love any advice on navigating the system here? I’m so glad for you that your scan went well.

My first is now 5, nearly 6 so quite a big age gap but I’m hoping she’ll be delighted. Think we will aim for an early scan Christmas week and then tell both families at Christmas as they will all be together!
