VS I dont think many Nexts do the Maternity in store but the one in Croydon has a massive selection in the sale! There is also a Monsoon outlet at Portsmouth if thats helps! VS my sister works in the Kids Ralph Lauren store in bicester! my little men seem to have the whole collection as they had a friends and family week (30% of the lowest sale price) before xmas and everyone went wild

velbels · 06/01/2008 08:33

I found a whole selection of maternity clothes at the Next clearance store in Bletchly, Milton Keynes if that is any help.

MassiveMollyfloss · 06/01/2008 09:18

I bought mainly stuff in bigger sizes and only a few maternity bits and pieces but I am already getting a little bit fed up with them all and don't feel like getting anymore big mama clothes. Will just stick with what I have until I get my figure back (wishful thinking)

MassiveMollyfloss · 06/01/2008 09:20

I did get myself a lovely handbag in the sales though

TLSM · 06/01/2008 10:12

As i lost 4 stone last year I was wearing my big girl clothes but my belly hurt with the belt thus the new jeans I never bought any maternity clothes with Max but this one seems a lot more difficult with Max my bump never hurt but how different this pregnancy is!

LOL Eva- don't worry, Christmas is hectic here anyway. Once you come over again we'll arrange something OK?

A bit shaky today as Dh was in a foul mood yesterday and really upset me several times, he ahs days like that sometimes. he's back to work tonight and should realise I'm a bit edgy as both Uni and school starts tomorrow (with DS3 having his first day, something I am still not happy about as he should be in SN school not the local CofE).

But apparently Dh's new year resolution is not to get involved in any more SN stuff, so I have something like 14 appointments to face over the next few weeks, a possible statement review, 2 X DLA forms by june (70 odd pages each plus evidence) and of course Uni . It can't be done.

EllieG · 06/01/2008 10:31

Mornin' all

Sorry to hear your having a shaky morning peachy - might be that DP has thought better of leaving you to do all the SN stuff in the not-heat of the morning and that if you talk to him calmly about how you can't manage to do everything he will be a bit more reasonable.

Hello to kianna and welcome to the thread! Is nice here

Hey to eva and molly - nice to have you back x

MassiveMollyfloss · 06/01/2008 15:18

For anyone in London. I was just on the Kings road and Tom & Daisy are having a big closing down sale. Might be worth checking out for a bargain or two.

With regards to reading material. I want to read a little on all the different well known methods with babies (sleeping, BF etc.) so I can decide what suits me best. My SIL gave me 'the New Contented Little baby book' (2002) by Gina Ford and i have been told that The baby whisperer is also worth a read for something completely different. Any other suggestions?

PeachyHasAFiggyPudInTheOven · 06/01/2008 17:50

I would suggest getting an updated version of the CLBB, as it has been recently reviewed i think.

For toddlers I am a lover of toddler taming 9actually won a copy on here after chatting to him in an online forum thing many, many moons ago). The what to expect when.... range is good as well, but get them from the library if you can, and look for the well known names too: Miriam Stopaprd, Dr Spock have just as much to say as the 'Childcare Guru' types. And from my observation (probably erroneous LOL0, seem a lot mroe likely to ahve kids of their owna s well, which I consider essential!

chipmonkey · 06/01/2008 18:09

I LOVE Toddler Taming as well! Very good no-nonsense approach, was a big help when ds1 was little and eating next to nothing and refusing to potty-train. I only got one Miriam Stoppard book on feeding and that was a nightmare, very complicated recipes, everything had to be made into little pictures/models and ds1 still wouldn't eat them!

PeachyHasAFiggyPudInTheOven · 06/01/2008 18:12

The picture thing is crap imo

if they won't eat it off a normal plate try one with a picture they like on

if that doesn't work, try one with separate sections (s0ome kids v big on that)

if that doesn't work, they won't be eating that foodstuff atm- skip it for a while.

easy

chipmonkey · 06/01/2008 18:23

I am dreading if ds3's Bear in the Big Blue House plate ever gets broken. He gets very peeved at having to eat off a regular plate like common people!

PeachyHasAFiggyPudInTheOven · 06/01/2008 18:44

DS3 will only eat if he can have yellow IKEA plastic cutlery- which is fine but you get one set in a bag of about 5 colours so we are overflowing with unused cutlery!

never mind eh?

nosnikrap · 06/01/2008 19:08

where did that huge long list of names and due dates come from? how come I'm not on it? My baby is due on the 21 April, my second.

MassiveMollyfloss · 06/01/2008 20:35

I am reading the What to expect when you're expecting right now which I find really informative for the pregnancy. Thanks for the tips on the other books. Any more tips are welcome too of course. I have three months in which to do a lot of reading!

Mollyfloss · 06/01/2008 21:23

I just posted a couple of photos of my bump on my profile. I've also gone back to Mollyfloss as my profile disappeared when I changed names.

VictorianSqualor · 06/01/2008 23:22

I don't think I have ever read a parenting book

VictorianSqualor · 06/01/2008 23:23

Sheds75 · 07/01/2008 09:14

Morning All and a Happy New Year to you all, hope everyone had a great festive period! It's my first day back in the office and I'm full of a nasty cold (boardering on Man Flu I think).
