scorpio1 · 04/01/2008 13:39

Reilly calls dp Daddy, and his actual father Daddy Ryan.

Reilly chose this himself, we tried to get him to call Kevin 'Kevin', but he wouldn't, said no, daddy. So why fight it?

And i know, i have been so quiet about it!!

DennytwasNewYear · 04/01/2008 13:40

Ooohhh v exciting, like the dress good amount of expansion so dosent matter how big u get B4 then. What r u doing with your hair? Im so nosey

EllieG · 04/01/2008 13:40

Ooo yes I remember you choosing that dress, it's beautiful, you'll look gorgeous.

Lovely. I love weddings! It's a good thing too, cos I'm having my second one in June.

scorpio1 · 04/01/2008 13:41

ellie pity we not pg then you could of had my dress!

Hair - straight with fringe and a tiara.

EllieG · 04/01/2008 13:42

Well your DP's been the one bringing him up really hasn't he? It's nice he feels that secure with him.

Feel a bit teary now at thought of lovely scorpio and her lovely family all getting spliced. flippin' hormones.

VictorianSqualor · 04/01/2008 13:43

That was pretty much the same with us Scorpio, DS was only just saying three or four words when he met DP and would call all men 'dada', we tried for ages to correct him to say Johnny but he wouldn't, then after a few months of it DD asked if she could call him Daddy too, so they both call him Daddy.

ds calls his real dad 'Mick' and apparently when he is with them they say to call him Daddy but he won't, and DD said she ahs slipped up a few times, calling him Mick and refering to DP as Daddy.

The way I see it, XP could've been the man they looked at as Daddy but he threw it all away, it's not my fault that DP was perfectly happy to be their Daddy and they were perfectly happy to accept it, it's his.

EllieG · 04/01/2008 13:43

Yes - I am in a dilemma about mine - will be 8 weeks after the baby is born (if on time) and so likely to still be fairly porky. REFUSE to wear anything that makes me look still PG, so am on lookout for style that will accentuate boobs and other good curves and skim over the wobbly belly. And then will get some ginormous pants and hope that does the trick.

EllieG · 04/01/2008 13:45

So any suggestions for good dresses will be much appreciated. Not that I can buy anything yet as have no idea what figure will be like.

scorpio1 · 04/01/2008 13:45

yeah, dp been living with me since ds1 was 11months. he has been the one there when ill, sports days, for love, playing etc and thats important imo. not the sperm.

ahh and i am loverrrrly yes

dp is being so sweet at the moment, keeps saying im so pleased its you im marrying and last night he said 'Well you know how i love you and fancy you loads and everything? Well you are also my best friend and i always want to tell you things during the day, think about you and just love you really'.

that was so sweet!!

EllieG · 04/01/2008 13:46

Oh god am properly welling up now!

scorpio1 · 04/01/2008 13:48

ds1 is using ds2 as a trampoline!!

ds2 thinking it hilarious though....

DennytwasNewYear · 04/01/2008 13:48

Ellie what about empire line?

EllieG · 04/01/2008 13:57

Trouble with Empire line is that sometimes it can make you look a bit PG if you are at all chubby. I wore an empire line dress one time when I was carrying a few extra pounds to a wedding and someone said to me 'You shouldn't be drinking you're PG!' I ran away and cried. Don't want that to happen at my own!

Fleecy · 04/01/2008 13:59

Ellie, I was a bridesmaid for a friend 7 weeks after having DD. I wore a corset dress with big old hold-everything-in pants underneath and that seemed to work. Even now, I'm surprised how good a shape I looked at the time. All flopped out once the dress came off obviously but did the trick for the day .

I think it was the combination of the boning on the corset holding my tummy in and making the most of my boobs, plus the control pants keeping my middle as flat as possible.

Fleecy · 04/01/2008 14:00

Ooh, had spaghetti straps on the dress too - make me feel more secure about it staying up over massive, milk-filled boobies!

lorisparkle · 04/01/2008 14:01

Penguin2Za - you asked about expressing milk. I had such problems with bf that I always expressed milk from the beginning (even though I never produced that much when expressing and DS is a rather chunky boy so he obviously got enough when BF!). So as not to confuse the LO when they are first starting to BF they say not to give bottles. We used a special little cup that the hospital gave us when DS1 was first born. (similar to a large medicine cup) and then went onto a doidy cup. DS1 has never had a bottle and DH and my mum have both given him expressed milk. He did not used to drink a huge amount from the cup but made up for it when he saw me next!!!

These are the little cups we first used...

VS - I really feel for you with the CS issue. I never wanted an elective CS with DS1 and went through lots of internal battles. I'm hoping the issue won't come up again for me as I know it will tear me apart to have to make the decision for another CS or VBAC. I am sure it will all turn out for the best and in the end it does not matter how your lo is born. (That is what I keep telling myself but know it doesn't really help)

VictorianSqualor · 04/01/2008 14:11

Ellie, I went to a wedding not long after DS was born, and wore a corset under my dress.

Get a really awesome bodystocking type thing. Trinny and Susannah will know what to do, then get something that comes down low on your stomach so it shows that it looks flat, but rounds on your hips and shows off your natural curves.

Actually, I'll look for something similar to what i mean, any excuse to look at pretty dresses.

DennytwasNewYear · 04/01/2008 14:12

Corsets should hold it all in, r u planning on feeding though, may be a problem 'whopping them out' if you have to be undone everytime.

VictorianSqualor · 04/01/2008 14:13

t&s's body thingy

DennytwasNewYear · 04/01/2008 14:15

I think they do those in M+S - they roll on and off. I had some of the knickers (cycling shorts) when I wore bridesmaid dress couple of years ago but they did whols body ones. you could roll any extra upwards further increasing the bust area!!

DennytwasNewYear · 04/01/2008 14:16

Like the dress at the bottom of that page VS - shame all the xmas do's have finished

VictorianSqualor · 04/01/2008 14:29

this kind of dress. The whole skirt style may not be very 'you' but see how low the top of it comes? Low enoguh to make it look like you have a flat tummy, with your magic pants and then as it is kind of pointy, it gives plenty of room for hips, which unfortunately, are bones, so can't be squeezed as well as flab
