@ not eating so much

but we have to, its the rules!!

EllieG · 04/01/2008 12:50

Snap weights with denny. I love MN. Is only place you can discuss all these things properly.

VS - I don't think you are being selfish at all - it doesn't hurt to try vbac does it?

Welcome mum2b2 - is great thread this - we spend a lot of time discussing food and everyone is very nice

DennytwasNewYear · 04/01/2008 12:51

? dont we have to eat for 2 ????

VS - what r the medical reasons for requiring a CS despite having 2 previously?

VictorianSqualor · 04/01/2008 12:51

I don't think so but it's amking everyone else worry, DP is panicing, his mum called me last night and started on about how it would be safer to have a CS etc, I just feel like I'm doing it for me rather than thinking about anyone else.

scorpio1 · 04/01/2008 12:52

nice ham

pickeled onions

garlic bread to have with spag bol

milk

yoghurt

mini babybel yeah!!!

juice tropicana masses of

grapefruit

EllieG · 04/01/2008 12:52

I know! I will probably get thrown off thread if I stop.

Maybe I can just try for little and often approach rather than mahoosive amounts in one go.

VictorianSqualor · 04/01/2008 12:53

The cons wants me to have an el cs at 38weeks, apparently people who have had the same results on the uterine doppler as me are automatically induced or CS'd at 38weeks and it has cut the risk of stillbirth.

She also thinks that it's likely even if I don't plan a CS that I'll end up having one anyway, I'm just so confused about it all.

scorpio1 · 04/01/2008 12:53

but it YOUR birth, your body, etc. you will not hurt the baby.

why is it safer to have CS? i thought VB was safest? or is just personally iyswim?

With my vb's it has taken only a day or 2 to recover to normal, surely thats a big plus for a start??

DennytwasNewYear · 04/01/2008 12:55

Ohhhh emental baby bel r great may just have to look and see if any left in the fridge.
But that would require stopping eating the biscuits

scorpio1 · 04/01/2008 12:55

i know you must feel like giving in, but you have always felt strongly about a vba2c. Stick to your guns if its that important.

what risk of stillbirth? is it higher than mine is for example?

VictorianSqualor · 04/01/2008 12:56

It's all because of the bloody doppler scan thing, but I keep thinking with DS they didn't do those tests, and he was fine, born at 39weeks by cs, but fine, yet it was likely the same was going on inside me when I was pg with him.

EllieG · 04/01/2008 12:56

Ooo I love pickled onions. Esp with strong cheddar.

Branston pickle too.

VS - I don't think you are being selfish in exploring your options and not just necesarily going for the CS. It is your body after all and you shouldn't be pressured into making decisions. Obviously is good to be open minded and not take silly risks with yourself, but if you are not, then stick to your guns. Remember this is is probably about other people's anxieties rather than yours, and them feeling they need to do something to control the situation.

DennytwasNewYear · 04/01/2008 12:56

VS have they said what will happen to the blood supply if you go past 38 weeks? Could you look into being induced at 38 weeks instead?

DennytwasNewYear · 04/01/2008 12:57

Marmite

VictorianSqualor · 04/01/2008 12:57

I don't know,s he didn't tell me the exact stats, she was really understanding after I got all emotional and explained how much I hated my previous CS's and said we can do what I want, but I feel like DP and his mum and my cons all think I should just have a CS and get it over with.

VictorianSqualor · 04/01/2008 12:58

I can't be induced Denny, they won't do it because of the huge increase in risk of uterine scar rupture.

EllieG · 04/01/2008 12:59

If your consultant is happy to let you try for a vbac then ignore the others. Maybe you might try gettign her to explain it to DP?

Denny - not in my fridge. Yuk.

scorpio1 · 04/01/2008 13:00

well of course they do, they think you have had 2 before whats the problem?

the 'problem' is that you want to at least try for a vb. you are not being silly wanting that.

have you read about natural CS?

scorpio1 · 04/01/2008 13:02

marmalade

custard

crossiants (fridge has special bread draw that is diff temp from rest of fridge)

jam

clotted cream

DennytwasNewYear · 04/01/2008 13:03

Of course was forgetting prev sections, can they not monitor you after the 38 week mark?

Noooo its the best with cheese in a toasted sandwich

VictorianSqualor · 04/01/2008 13:05

Yes, scorpio, I've read about it, and I really don't think the little difference they do than a normal CS would help me in the slightest, I'm holding on to the fact that if I do decide to agree to a CS my cons will probably be so relieved she'll sing to my whilst baby comes out if it's what I want.

EllieG · 04/01/2008 13:24

I don't want to fall out denny, so we'll probably have to avoid the whole topic of the 'm' stuff from now on. Bit too contentious.

I reckon you should wait and see how everything's going VS if that's possible - if you are lovely and healthy and there are no concerns nearer the time it might be everyone calms down a bit.

scorpio1 · 04/01/2008 13:27

Well VS i hope you get peace from what you decide, im sorry i dont have much advice to offer as i dont know anything about CS.

Ellie - i LOVE Marmite - are you wantign a marmite debate?? bring it on!!
