OP posts:
santagitta · 14/12/2007 10:07

Thanks, VS, they look just perfect. Price is better for the simpler Ikea one though...Might have to put up with banging my head a little!

Great news about the scan Ellie.

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 14/12/2007 10:09

for price you can probably get them in argos for a lot les than those sites!

Sheds75 · 14/12/2007 10:10

Hi Sheds,
What sort of things? Vegetarian / roast / fish?

Sheds75 · 14/12/2007 10:20

deffinatly meat, no veggies to cater for and unfortunaley a few non fish lovers, we tend to use it as a time to experiment with new dishes

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 14/12/2007 10:25

Duck, I would love duck right about now.

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 14/12/2007 10:26

Something like this and roast some charlotte potatoes too, with their skins on.

santagitta · 14/12/2007 10:31

How about a lamb tagine, or maybe a curry? Easy to do in advance, and you can have fun with the stuff that goes alongside (a really nice couscous or pilaff thing, chutneys/raita if doing curry etc)

northfeastmummy · 14/12/2007 10:41

Hey that duck recipe sounds great - I've just printed it off for myself. And so easy!

Yum to tagine too or a curry night - great fun.

In general I find the bbc recipe website perfect when I'm looking for some inspiration.

Sheds75 · 14/12/2007 10:53

I would love a curry, unfortunatley my DP can't stand them (rubbish), the duck looks great though.

ToastandMincePieAddict · 14/12/2007 11:14

Morning all

Took yesterday off to go Xmas shopping, so taken a while to catch up

Have just read cece's news on the pg after mc thread and am now so so
And, selfishly, I am to say, it has now sparked a whole new wave of paranoia in me.

Trying to get onto a lighter note.... I think I am going to try to get some of these "how to bring up your baby" "bibles" from the library, as I really have no idea what they say....

Oh, and dreams - I haven't had any about the baby yet, but dh dreamt the other night that I told him that if he put his hand on my tummy (which I often get him to do!), not only would he feel the baby kick, but that she would actually reach out and grab his hand! He was a bit , but tried and apparently she did grab him!!!!!

Last night I got him to read a bedtime story to my bump, as apparently they can now hear and if they get used to a story, they will recognise it when they come out. I am a bit about this, but it was sooo nice having a story read to me!!!!!

scorpio1 · 14/12/2007 11:14

oh i love curry, have made dp take me to indian restaurant numerous times in this pg already!

we are off to butlins on wednesday, so i wont be on here till sunday

i know this sounds weird, but i can feel Millie kik when im standing up now, she made me jump in the bank this morning

northfeastmummy · 14/12/2007 11:23

Ellie - I feel the same today. I'm so tired ... but also have our Christmas lunch (which will go on all afternoon and into the evening) so am leaving in 5 minutes - yay! I just hope the others get really drunk and entertaining so I can stay awake!

I remember feeling my Millie kick when I was about to do a presentation to our senior management team - it was perfect timing, just as I was about to start speaking . I just wanted to burst out laughing and say "JoJo (her name as a bump) just kicked me!" ... but didn't think it was appropriate.

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 14/12/2007 11:25

I had baby kicking like it was doing bleeding drumming on my belly in the night and it went into a weird dream then woke me up!

It's true about them recognising voices etc.
DD used to sing 'tinkle twinkle little star' to ds when I was pg with him and when he was born if he got fretful whilst I was busy I would send her to sing to him and he would calm down straight away!!

scorpio1 · 14/12/2007 11:27

I know Millie can hear, ds2 is quite loud and she jumps or moves when he talks next to me, also jumps when there are bangs etc. Millie is quite quiet when i wake in the night, and i dont get up without having felt her! [worry]

dp is a builder person, and at work there is a dog that appears to be a sort of stray. dp wants to bring it home for the weekend! i said no and if you do no sex - he text back 'ideal' the cheeky git!! (btw am not serious, just a little joke we always have). i am having a baby, i do not want a dog!

SantasGotABigFatEllieG · 14/12/2007 11:41

DSD keeps talking to Elliebean saying things like 'Never listen to your parents - only listen to your big sister' ! Bad example from an early age!

santagitta · 14/12/2007 12:59

Wow - everyone's very quiet this morning!

I'm off for lunch in a minute and then my scan. I've heard it takes 20 minutes - so no idea how I'm going to amuse DD while that's going on. But wish me luck...(and ideas on what to do with DD)

DennytwasNewYear · 14/12/2007 13:16

Strap her in a buggy with something shes not normally allowed ie crisps or try and get her to sleep B4 you go in. Good luck with the scan and entertaining DD

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 14/12/2007 13:17

Yeah, sweets always does the trick!!
I just took a picture of my scan actually to show a friend.
here

DennytwasNewYear · 14/12/2007 13:28

VS - how clear is that scan piccy? Ours kind of looks alien like, you have to shut one eye to tell what it is.

DennytwasNewYear · 14/12/2007 13:31

Santagitta is right though really quite on here today only one page to catch up on wonder if the xmas do's have started? We have one tonight and kids staying overight at my mums so we get a lay in in the am as well, yeah. Have a nice weekene everyone

santagitta · 14/12/2007 13:35

Sweets (well, raisins, tangerines, etc) it is then.
Oh my god - that's just reminded me that she's in for tea - and I've just eaten what I'd planned to give her. Shit. Scan, then supermarket...

Have good weekends everyone!

santagitta · 14/12/2007 13:36

Amazing scan, by the way, VS

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 14/12/2007 13:36

You know denny, I was soooooo surprised at how clear it as compared to dd/ds's.
I have another few pictures they gave me, one of a foot and one of a hand, they are really clear too.
It's amazing that all of our babies look like that now though isn't it!!!
