Here's a new one for us chatty ones

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jezebel · 11/11/2004 12:33

Thanks for the message Mrs W. I will be thinking of you. Yes, a diagnosis is a hell of a relief - stops me blaming myself or feeling cursed. You pulled me out of lurking. It has just been so sad in the past to join threads only to leave them. If it happens again I won't say goodbye - too sad. Anyone got time to do a roll call?

LipstickMum · 11/11/2004 12:34

What do u mean, a roll call?

Jezebel · 11/11/2004 12:42

Hi there LipstickMUM- I mean a list of all of us expecting in June by due date so we can see who is due around the same time.

MrsWednesday · 11/11/2004 12:54

Jezebel, I thought that might be the case (about joining threads only to leave them). I felt the same way but then I thought, sod it. I'll come on here and force other people to listen to my nervous witterings!

A rollcall would be a good idea. I'll give it a go this afternoon if you like.

Uwila, I know what you mean about the stomach. I went to Pilates yesterday and I asked the instructor about exercises to avoid - she said I shouldn't be doing anything lying on my stomach "especially now you're showing". I'm only 9 weeks!!!!

Lipstickmum, how are you doing? You feeling sicker today? Spotting has stopped thank goodness, and I've got a headache - had loads with DS but none with m/c so I am enjoying suffering!

LipstickMum · 11/11/2004 12:54

Ohhhh, thought u meant who is online lol
I am due 23rd June, 8 weeks tomorrow.

LipstickMum · 11/11/2004 12:55

Nausea is the same, seemed to ease off but is mainly here with a vengeance. Have to go and have lunch...

Uwila · 11/11/2004 14:07

Can I just interject one of those guaranteed controversial topics? The new 5-in-1 vaccine. Are you guys to going to get it for the new little ones?

I never questioned the old style (with mercury asI now know!). There's another thread going on now about the safety oc vaccines. We opted out of the MMR for DD1, and take her for singles. But, now I'm rethinking the 5-in1.

Has anyone thought this far ahead?

LipstickMum · 11/11/2004 14:14

Nope. We gave dd the MMR as 1, dp knew a bit about it as he's a GP, we decided it was safe.

katzguk · 11/11/2004 14:16

hi all, didn't have a chance to post again yesterday and boy you guys can chat!!!

scan showed one wiggly little baby measuring at 10w 1d so new due date of 7th of June. 20 week scan booked for the 17th of Jan. there were signs up on the wall asking for volunteers for scans for training so am tempted just to see baby more!!!

hope everyone is feeling okay today,

Lua · 11/11/2004 14:25

Hi all!
It seems like sickness is getting better for most of you. I have actually just starting to have some... go figure!
I have also been puzzled about the stomach expansion. I lost about 8 lbs before getting pregnant, and only gained 3 so far. Yet, my Pants are all too tight to close the top button. Thank goodness for the elastic band trick!
Uwila - I don't like the idea of the 5-1 myself. The idea is that ensures kids get all the need vaccination and that they supposedly suffer less with a single jab.... But my daughter never complained about jabs and we have imune diseases on my husbands side of the family, so I am really hoping I can avoid it....

Lua · 11/11/2004 14:35

I apologize in advance if this post makes anyone worried, I just tought I would share something I read in the past, that made me think twice about having scans....
I had 3 scans with my first daughter, but swear I would have none with the second. Of course I am already breaking my promisse since I am having a nuchal next friday (DH insistency...), but I wouldn't have more than 2 during the pregnancy...
The fact is, we still don't really know if it does any damage. There is of course NO documented evidence that it does do any damage either. But, as with any new technology... the exposure should be worth the risk.... (i.e. if it would avoid excessive stress or be needed to detect anomaly, placenta previa, etc, is probably worth the risk!)

There is some lenghty information on the link bellow:

Think I'm 29th? Did I type 27 somewhere? I'm holding out for my nuchal at FMC next Friday (only 8 days now) to give the official date. Last time my date got bumbed back one week. So, I figure the same will happen this time, and I'll be into June (then I won't have to crash this thread)

muddaofsuburbia · 11/11/2004 17:27

Sob sob sob..you missed me out....I'm due on the 10th, but not that anyone cares....oh woe is me....sigh...I'll go and puke in my bog now...no no it's ok I don't need any sympathy...sniffle...no I'm fine really....but if you do feel guilty then chocolates are always greatly appreciated...I'll just cross my legs and shuffle off to the July thread...sob sob

Lua · 11/11/2004 17:50

Pandagirl, please stay!

muddaofsuburbia · 11/11/2004 18:16

Aw Pandagirl - stay with us! THere's no telling who's going to be late or early so stick with us - go on you know you want to

LipstickMum · 11/11/2004 18:53

Wow, what a list, I didn't realise there were so many of us!!!!! Cool, cool, cool! Thanks MrsW!

Welshmum do you have the day off today? Haven't seen you online. Hope all is well

I am going on holiday tomorrow for a week, so I shall not be around, I shall miss the daily chats. I guess it will be rather an impossible task to catch up when I get back!!!

BUBBALOO · 11/11/2004 19:19

hi Lipstickmum,
have a great holiday.
i know what you mean about catching up.ive only got access to a pc in the evenings and weekends and theres so much to read at the end of the day

NQWWW · 11/11/2004 19:54

I must log on more often - can't keep up!

Charleypops - no its not my first one, I already have a ds and a dd. Pretty terrified of having 3 (will be getting an au-pair at least for the first 6 months I think). And I'm already on permanent "maternity leave"!

Katzguk - my dd is 14 months - how old is yours? Good choice of name. Are you going to ask what you're having this time?

Scraggy - don't worry too much about the sex drive - just wait till the 2nd (and 3rd!) trimester...... Course, after that it'll be ancient history.

Tessiebear - I had to stop driving this morning. I'm always a bit weepy in the 2 minute silence, but today it followed a dramatisation on Radio 4 of Isadora Duncan's journals and letters, and in this chapter her 2 children were killed when the driver accidentally rolled the car into the Seine...... I was a wreck.

And as for showing - I'm only nine weeks and I'm huge. Total absence of any muscle tone after the previous 2 (at least I'm hoping its that and not twins).

berolina · 11/11/2004 20:01

Hi there all. Thanks MrsW for your thoughts. Had a bit of a scary afternoon - lost what I can only describe as a small 'lump' of light brown substance (sorry tmi). No other blood (apart from the usual tiny spots which I've given up on worrying about), just that plus a slightly smaller one. It was pretty small, but a lot bigger than my usual spotting, and I knew I'd never forgive myself if I left it and it turned out to be something serious, so went off to the docs. Had a scan and baby is fine, measuring 11w 3d now - doc couldn't see any site for the bleeding or where it might have been coming from, so I presume what it actually was will stay a mystery. So even if you are having discharge it can be okay.

MrsWednesday · 11/11/2004 20:11

I'm soooooooooooooooo sorry muddaofsuburbia - you were on the list I copied off the last thread, I just don't know what happened. Grovel, grovel, grovel.

MrsWednesday · 11/11/2004 20:19

Blimey Berolina, what a rollercoaster of a day. I'm so glad it ended up with some good news though . Did they give you any explanation of what's causing it?

Lipstickmum, have a lovely holiday. I'm sure we'll be able to give you an edited summary of what you've missed when you get back!

NQWWW - I saw the explanation of your name on the nickname thread and it tickles me every time I see it now, very funny.

Pandagirl03, please stay! Just tell us what your new due date and I'll update the list. I may even remember to put everyone on it this time.

pandagirl03 · 11/11/2004 22:24

hello mrs w my new due date i think unless it gets changed again is 14th july bit behind you june girls, but you all so nice dont want to leave this thread.

Thanks everyone.

muddaofsuburbia · 11/11/2004 23:29

Mrs W - I suppose Thorntons will be acceptable. Just don't let it happen again...
