Hola

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cazzybabs · 08/12/2007 23:01

OH god what a dilemna....maybe I'll be in labour on Weds anyway!!!!!

cazzybabs · 08/12/2007 23:03

AHHH - knew I'd mess up Wizzska needs taking off the due bit!

bambino1andbigbump · 08/12/2007 23:08

yeah think positive! I'm trying not to think about it at all and see if the reverse psych works! I know i'm barmy but not sure what else to do. Feel like i'm just sitting and waiting for something to happen.

I've been watching portland babies on discovery home and health. It looks amazing there. Like a hotel. Heard its very expensive to have your baby there tho.

becklesparkle · 08/12/2007 23:27

Hoorah Beanstermummy! Congrats on the birth of little Freya!

Caz, exciting stuff - hope things are moving along nicely for you!

Amani, IKWYM about 'aching' bump, mine has been really sore and tight for a few days now. Getting a lot of BHs too.

Well I think I know what has been causing my backache today - DS2 wanted to feel the baby move earlier so we had a little prod and I am almost certain that LO has turned back-to-back, when I am relaxed the front and sides of the bump are all squashy with the odd small bumps (feet and knees I think). Hope it turns again as I really feel so uncomfy today I could cry.

How is everyone else's weekend going? DS1 had football practice today and the trainers said he played really well [very proud Mummy face]. He has a match tomorrow morning against another local team, really hope the rain holds off! Mind you he was soaked and muddy when I picked him up this morning and thought it was the best thing ever!

HoHoHousemum · 08/12/2007 23:51

I really did nothing today - took DD2 to dancing this morning, came back and could not settle to do anything. made myself do the ironing this evening, had lots of BHs and a "draggy" kind of feeling (maybe the same as you, Amani?) but nothing now - I'm hoping that things are just "warming up" - wishful thinking, eh?

Must get off my backside and do something tomorrow - problem is when the weather is so awful I just can't be bothered!

Congratulations to Beanstermummy - look forward to seeing the pics.

Hope all's going well with Caz10

Have been having a whiff of the clary sage bottle whenever I go in the bathroom, and have rubbed it into my skin (diluted in oil) for the last 3 nights but no noticeable effects so far...

HoHoHousemum · 08/12/2007 23:53

and for anyone wondering where to get clary sage, I just found it in the local health food shop.

suey2 · 09/12/2007 07:37

morning all.
congrats beanstermummy
melly lol about fitting your labour into other people's schedule. I am getting about 4 calls a day-'have you had it yet?' yes and i didn't tell you. grr. i am not allowed to ahve it this weekend, or after the 18th, blah blah blah.

I think i will do what skid said next time (if there is one): tell everyone the due date is 2 weeks later than it actually is.

Tried most things yesterday- sex, curry, walk, bouncing on ball. LO felt a lot lower all day, kind of in my groins rather than just above, but no joy as yet. LOL though, i thought i had a stitch during sex, but it was the baby sticking his foot into my side!

Will definitely go and get some clary sage today- am getting fed up of the sleepless nights (i know, i know, but at least i will be getting up for LO, not because I can't settle)

Good luck to all those who sound like they are in early labour- things are really moving for everyone now!

suey2 · 09/12/2007 07:40

ooo- lizzer- i saw the golden compass too- wasn't it AWESOME. don't normally like nicole kidman but she was perfectly cast. I am gald they stopped it before the end of the first book- lots of kids in the audience, and it would have been devastating for them!

loucee · 09/12/2007 08:22

Morning everyone

Housemum, I also find it hard to get motivated when the weather is so awful. Found yesterday so tiring with DD (bless her she's just energetic!) and am sure the weather had a pig part to play in it. Going to make sure I stock up on new colouring books, fuzzy felts, etc etc to ensure we've got a whole stash of activities whilst the weather is crap.
I feel really liberated though, I bought a knee length coat with a hood (don't think it looks very stylish but it's very practical!) and it's waterproof so at least when I go out in the rain I feel very protected and not freezing my arse off!

Suey, good luck with the clary sage

claireybraxtonhicks · 09/12/2007 09:30

Sulking now!
Started to get pains last night so convinced myself would be properly in labour by this morning but no progress-tightenings maybe a little more frequent and accompanied by period pain but definitely not proper labour!
Very wierd feeling, never had any pre labour signs with dd as my waters just went and that was it!
Might brave the rain and go for a brisk walk to boots to get some clary sage-one or other of them should start me off surely?!

fifisworld · 09/12/2007 09:35

Loucee - Yes im so excited now but im terrifed as well. I keep panicking for no reason about stupid things, but in 4 days i'll have my baby!!

Look forward to hearing from caz, hope everythings ok

We are off to my dads in a couple of hours for dinner and he wants me to help him with his tree and present wrapping as he's hopeless!!

Amani · 09/12/2007 11:04

Morning ladies,

Had very achy bump last night, was up at 3am as it was very painful. Took some paracetamol which helped and then again this morning at 7am. Was 'umming' and ahhing' whether to call the hospital, but DH persuaded me to - didn't want to make a big deal out of something that might have been normal. Anyway all they said continue with the paracetamol and long warm baths and if i get contractions, bleeding or waters breaking then to go.

Seems like it's nothing worth worked up about, but it bloody feels tight and horrible - sounds quite similar to what cazzy mentioned....we'll see if this progresses to something.

cazzybabs · 09/12/2007 11:11

OK - you lot all go into labour before me its fine!!!!!!

We are off out to a historic house today...I am so going to knackered when I get back.

Shells · 09/12/2007 13:19

I am very fed up too. Days and days of twinges and pains that turn into nothing. Sigh. When is it going to happen?

Bouncingturtle · 09/12/2007 13:38

Congrats Beanster - Freya is a very pretty name

Getting very excited for all you ladies experiencing interesting twinges, hope things start happening very soon!

Had my Uni friends up for nice Xmas party, had a good time! Having a nice relaxed day today.

becklesparkle · 09/12/2007 13:44

Morning all! After a fairly uncomfortable night LO seems to have moved again as back is not aching today (yay!). Very stiff and sore though, not helped by standing on cold field watching DS1 play football! His team lost 1-0 but played really well and thankfully the rain waited until the end of the match to start!

Going to do some cleaning this afternoon I think, starting to panic that the house is not clean enough (needs a good spring clean as not had time for ages due to work, etc) - wonder if that is nesting??? [hopefull emoction]

claraquitemassivenow · 09/12/2007 15:40

Hi all
Congrats Beanster - lovely name, it was one we considered (but decided against although I can't remember why). Sounds like a good birth. And gives me a little bit of hope that things could still be "natural", have about 36 hours to go....But am basically resigned to another section on Tuesday.

Good luck everyone else, there seem to be a lot of us out there at the moment with various pains and twinges.

BunnyBaby · 09/12/2007 15:45

Still here along with the other lateys. My reflexologist did a priming treatment on me yesterday which wiped me out. I woke up this morning a 6.30am with very gentle contractions 6-7 minutes apart. And now feel like I have constant period pain. Hopefully this is the start of something.

Me and DH had a 2 mile a walk, and went for a drive to see if we can help get things moving along. It also feels like the baby is grinding down further into my pelvis.

Good luck to all the other lateys and many congratulations to the new mums, everyone is popping a lot earlier than they did in the November thread!

mellymooks · 09/12/2007 16:21

Hello Everyone!
Been out for really long drive today on country bumpy roads in the hope that that may get things moving....baby does feel very low down, but i've hardly had any twinges. Fed up now just want it to start, i'm fed up of analysing every little feeling - but i can't help it, it's all i can think about!!

Hope everyone else ok, no babies born yet today then?

FurryFox · 09/12/2007 19:26

Congratulations Beanster on the arrival of Freya Great news!

Caz - Hope you're now holding your baby and everything ok

Was having a few pains last night, roughly 15 mins apart for about 3 hours but went to bed and then nothing today. Spent the best part of the day Christmas shopping but still not all done [hmm

Sounds like lot's of you have been quite active this weekend...let's hope it brings on some more babies soon

skidaddle · 09/12/2007 20:12

No more babies since last time I logged on [disappointed emotion] - seems like there have been about 2 a day for the last few days..

amani - hope the pains have gone / are early signs of labour

clairey - sorry to hear things haven;t progressed as much as you'd like, still crossing my fingers for you....

beckle - great lo seems to have turned back round - were either of your dss back-to-back?

suey2 - you are a braver woman than me trying sex to induce labour - I know I should but I just can't face it

bunnybaby - sounds very promising - let us know how it goes....

Went swimming today and then for a longish walk - unlike most of you no twinges whatsoever even at 39+5 . Have resigned myself to this baby being very late though, or have tried to resign myself anyway...

Have been reading a book by Sheila Kitzinger (sp?) about natural childbirth and breathing/relaxing techniques to use in labour - bit late in the day to be starting with all that but am finding it really helpful and feel like I'll be a lot more in control this time round. DH and I have even been practising diff kinds of breathing - think I can almost categorise myself as an earth mother

skidaddle · 09/12/2007 20:41

oh and meant to say good luck to you claraq and really hope things happen naturally for you before your scheduled cs. Is there any way you could hold off a few days or are you just desperate to get the baby out? It's just that you sounded really keen to have a VBAC and it would be such a shame not to if that's what you want? Especially if the reason for it is that they are 'busy' at the hospital - hope I don't sound pushy - it's only because I got the impression you really wanted a vb? And of course it would be lovely to know you will have your baby on Tues - anyway best of luck whatever happens

bambino1andbigbump · 09/12/2007 20:56

Evening everyone.

Has anyone else experienced a pushing sensation on cervix area? It feels all jellyfied sometimes and I keep getting these images of a little hand popping out!!! I know it sounds strange but its the best way to describe it.

I was having some tightening this morn but not much this evening apart from pressure on cervix!!

insywinsyspider · 09/12/2007 21:25

hello everyone and good luck to all those feeling twinges, can't believe we're starting to have our babies....

bambino - not sure if I've had what your describing but I am getting loads of pressure on cervix, my 'lady bits' (can't think of a nice way to describe them ) are bulging everything feels sore more so when I sit on the toilet.... I had a dream the other night that I had mw visit at home and baby's head popped out (it had blonde hair and blue eyes btw ) and mw pushed it back in saying it wasn't time yet! I think it must have been when baby was being active at night and it got into my dreams too, baby's movements have slowed right down, I've started doing a movement chart and almost took myself to hosp today, I'm not getting kicks anymore but punches in my pelvis - its really weird I wish I could remember if it felt like that before

cazzybabs · 09/12/2007 21:35

I am also getting that pressure on my cervix - I don't remember it with the other 2 at all! It is quite painful...

God I cannot stop going to the loo today and then (TMI) all I do is the smallest amount possible! It is quite disappointing.

Very strange to think this time next week I will no doubt have a new born baby (am trying not to panic too much) and be suffering sleep deprivation and sore bits!
