Hola

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cazzybabs · 04/12/2007 19:05

Blood pressure still high - it cannot go any higher else I am not allowed by homebirth! So am hoping that it stays where it is. Otherwise it is all fine - told her I want to aviod induction (she wanted to book me in on the 14th), but I have said I may have a sweep a week on Weds...

she is coming to visit me at home then so hopefully bp will be where it is now as no stress of doctors!

macdoodle · 04/12/2007 19:12

Can't find Jarm's thread where is it???

HailBop · 04/12/2007 19:22

Hello all,

Just a quick announcement to add another new arrival to the list: my first (a boy) arrived Sunday afternoon, one day past his due date. Had awful contractions for nearly 48 hrs previous but once we checked in at the hospital he arrived so quickly there wasn't time for the epidural I had planned! Good luck to those of you who are still waiting.

cazzybabs · 04/12/2007 19:35

Congratulations - does he have a name yet?

Thanks everyone.I have to be there for 7.30 and am both v excited and nervous

Had pre op assessment today which went ok but they struggled to get blood out of me as veins retracted at sight of needle and although last elective was a good experience, knowing what to expect, does make me feel a bit queasy.

Will be so glad when its over. Its been a very long and hard 9 months.

Theres internet at the hosp so I will let you all know as soon as.Meanwhile I hope you all stay happy and healthy and your lo's arrive soon

loucee · 04/12/2007 20:49

Thanks for the link Mellymooks. It's so true though, bfing support in the early days is so vital to lots of women continuing. I so nearly gave up when it was really hard going but support helped to guide me through that and everyone PROMISED me it would get better... and it did!

Oh dear, DH is watching the footie and I've, well I've bloomin eaten half the bag of Roses had a lovely healthy stir fry for dinner as well, typical!

suey2 · 04/12/2007 21:03

good god. i am dreading BF now! TBH i have felt so rubbish all day today i can't imagine feeling well again- nausea, tearfulness, backache, swollen hands and feet, impossible to find a comfortable position for more than about 10 minutes, underslept, headache. etc. I don't want to think of any of that getting any worse! I certainly don't want to feel any more tired than i do already.

Bouncingturtle · 04/12/2007 21:22

Congrats HailBop!!

And ChocP - good luck and a safe delivery to you. You must be so excited to finally meet your lo! Can't wait for mine

loucee · 04/12/2007 21:24

Suey I relate to how you're feeling. Maybe you've been over doing things a little with the house move etc? Perhaps it's taken more of a toll on you than you realised. Rest up these last few days and eat well to build up your strength. Make sure you get as many naps in as you can so that when you go into labour you'll be as refreshed as possible.
It's not all bad after birth though, newborns do generally sleep a lot. We tried to do too much after DD was born, tried to go to the shops/visiting people etc and it was TOO much. This time round we plan to hibernate away as our new family and recovery from birth.

skidaddle · 04/12/2007 21:59

congrats hailbop - at last a baby!! Does he have a name yet?

How exciting chocpeanut - this time tomorrow you will have your baby!!

suey - this last bit of pg is just awful, isn't it? Rest and relax as much as possible esp. if you're not sleeping properly at night. You will probably be getting less sleep with a newborn but you will be better equipped to cope with it (i.e. not pg!) plus of course your night nanny should help. Don't worry it is such a relief not to be pg and falling in love with your baby will make everything feel worthwhile

amani - think i notice an effect of the RLT - TMI alert - more frequent pooing - suppose it's not only the uterine muscles that are affected

Looks like things are starting for RGpargy!!

Lizzer · 04/12/2007 22:39

Oh how exciting for RG!!

Congraulations halibop,a big welcome to your lovely baby boy

Loucee, yeah we want to hibernate too. Its nicer not having any expectations of the first few weeks as I think you tend to do with your first. That's why I quite like the december/xmas baby thing (dd's b'day on23rd) its a time when the world comes to a partial standstill and people are generally more relaxed (once the pressies are bought, wrapped and under the tree that is!)

BT and meme, yeah I'm worried for dp in that me and baby will get all the attention. I didn't have a partner around with dd so its a new experience for me too, I guess we'll just have to shower them with love and cuddles when all the visitors have gone

Amani - havne't noticed any side effects of rlt but still tking caps as had such a quick, good labour with dd...you never know....

Is anyone taking a homeopathy kit in with them? I've got a thread here, if you wouldn't mind looking at it www.mumsnet.com/Talk/1365/434901?stamp=071204220457 thanks

mellymooks · 05/12/2007 05:56

Morning everyone - can't sleep, had worst night in ages, really crampy achey legs and just feel so restless all the time. Finally given up and got up - though is later than I thought it was so I think maybe i got more sleep than i think i did IYKWIM!!

Think I'm gonna have to get out and about today even if the weather is total poo - otherwise i think I will crack with the waiting......

I wonder if anyone has had a baby over night?

Good luck today CP - wow you'll be holding your LO by this evening how amazing is that?

Shells · 05/12/2007 06:18

Morning melly. I can't sleep either because of achey legs and hurting hips. I now sleep on the sofa, sort of half sitting/propped up, with my legs out in front and that seems to be better than lying down. But still wake up every couple of hours feeling awful. Its pants. Want my bed back!
Hope today is amazing for you CP.

buzzybee · 05/12/2007 07:37

Huge congrats on your baby RG!!!

All quiet here too although people tell me I've now developed the end of labour waddle

Also getting the "goodness your bump doesn't look big enough to be due in 2 weeks" comments after months of "are you sure you've still got 10/9/8/7/6... weeks to go" quips. I'm actually quite enjoying the change!

My step-dad came over tonight and installed my new washing line on the fence (he's a star). Now have no excuse to use the dryer though

mellymooks · 05/12/2007 07:40

Have i missed something has RG actually had her baby?

mellymooks · 05/12/2007 07:46

Congratulations RG and Hailbop. Good to get some babies at last, and hopefully ChocPeanut is having a great birth today as well.

Brilliant that RG got her homebirth in the end. It sounded incredibly quick too....

I'm off to jump around at Magicland (soft play) this morning to see if that helps move things along a bit. Have been doing lots of bouncing on the birth ball but I fear the baby is far too snug and comfy in there for its own good....

insywinsyspider · 05/12/2007 08:48

Amani ? if it makes you feel better BT was down last night so couldn?t catch up with all your messages!
I have noticed diff with RLT, I get period pains after a couple of cups ? didn?t have any yesterday and no pains hoping its doing some good

Caz10 ? def stressing about baby?s movements ? think its because I?m on mat leave and getting more rest and sitting less so am not concentrating on it but part of being desperate to have baby is getting them here safe

Skid ? glad your babysitters are back, I keep telling the bump anytime now would be good too! Fed up with being pg now.

Loucee ? I?m 38 +1 today and got the same ?how neat is your bump? comments after being massive before, I?m also getting loads of ?when are you due?? Followed by a shocked ?don?t have it here!? comment, yeah because I can plan it and to be honest I think I?d make it home rather than give birth in your shop!
I?m off to see Golden Compass tomorrow night as it looks quite good and christmassy

I didn?t have feme pads last time but put mat pad in freezer for episiotomy ? I think its recommended you don?t keep cold pads on too long tho so you can let blood flow back to help it heal, like a sports injury (guess suey you?d know more about that?)

Claireyb ? poor you about night waking ? hope last night was better, can completely sympathise, last week when dh was away ds started waking for 2 hours about 1-3am, completely out of character, because I was on my own I did the ?wrong? thing and when nothing worked (milk, nappy, sitting with him, leaving him to cry?) I took him back to bed with me just to get some sleep as was still at work, he was only like it 5 days but felt like forever, not sure what caused it but after a couple of nights I was in tears wondering how I?d cope with that and newborn! He seems to have settled again so it?s a mystery?.

Congrats Hailbop and RG!

ChocP ? hope it all went well yesterday x

cazzybabs · 05/12/2007 09:00

I am still here - I am nesting (well OK I put some washing on and did some hovering!)...am failing to get dd2 dressed! She is Robin hood the angel...she is wearing her Austrialia t-shirt and has a blanket as her cloak! BUT as it is rainning - I feel she does need some more clothes before we set off for nursery.

Congratuations to RGP!

Housemum · 05/12/2007 09:43

Morning!

Cazzy - I have this image of a heavily-pregnant woman hovering above the floor in a yoga pose!!

Off to have haircut this morning, coloured my hair last night - no excuse now to look awful in the pictures after (oh yeah, except for the huffing, puffing, sweating and pushing a bowling ball out of my nether regions...)
