Hiya Furry

Bouncingturtle · 22/11/2007 16:17

Thanks for the tip about the ironing, shan't bother
Melly - I guess there are a lot of bad mothers about
Ambi - well done you super fit mummy! I've been to my aquafit again, so tired afterwards, but I really do enjoy it!
Beckle - sorry that belt didn't help but then if it is designed for pg ladies no wonder it is so uncomfortable! Hope you find a better colution.
Had my Midwife's appointment, measuring a week and half ahead, still pretty consistant, MW not in the least concerned. Baby's head is just above the pelvis, not quite engaged but she reckons it'll start to descend this week.
Must dash, got presents to wrap and tea to cook!

becklebigbump · 22/11/2007 16:18

Ambi, hernia is not painful thanks, just a bit uncomfy at times. I think it is everything being pushed around that causes it, the Doc said he could feel the tear in the muscle wall . Glad to hear you are doing so well, very exciting!

Hi Furry, hows it going with you? Hope your Hyperemesis has eased and things are going better for you now!

Beanstermummy · 22/11/2007 16:20

Ambi - same AN appt as me - mine is 09:30 and if i've not delivered by then (obvious as I wouldn't be there!!) they will book me in for a section (nae induction since previous cs). For me it will be 40+5 so not too bad. Last time with DD I had a sweep at 40+2 and Beanster popped out the next day (well attemped to but didn't get all the way - hence the CS!) - hope it works for you.

For any of you out there with colds - have discovered that hot blackcurrant with RLT bag in it actally tastes ok that's my plan of next half hour or so while enjoying the peace of no DD or DH to interupt my thoughts.

Oh yes - found a really good medical website - www.womens-health.co.uk completely by accient via google as I was searching for stuff on painkiller options - all seems quite concise and to the point. Did you know you can't have a mobile epidural within 3 hrs of Pethadine or Diamorphine - nope - me neither but glad I read it

mellymooks · 22/11/2007 16:22

hello!!
Ambi - good to know I'm not the only one who's done the microwave thing!
Just had huge surprise sleep, `i sat down on sofa for 5 mins that was at 2pm and I've just woken up! first time I've managed a daytime nap - i must need it maybe it means things are going to happen - well I can hope eh?!

becklebigbump · 22/11/2007 16:23

You are right about the belt Bouncing, def not designed for pg women! Phatmasist said it was like a Jock Strap and then looked at me and said "but I suppose you've never had to wear one of those"! MW appt sounds good! Good that baby's head is in the right place even if it hasn't 'dropped' yet!

claireybraxtonhicks · 22/11/2007 16:57

Kitsilano, Congratulations! Good thing you asked the mw to check you over!

Clara-Yes it is the H&M top-I also have it in black!

Melly, that M4/M5 junction is tricky-dh and I frequently get confused there. It usually ends up with me shouting "you need the left lane, no the right, no the left" and dh then getting stroppy with me!

Beckle-I remember the post bf boobs, all floppy and empty feeling! I just thought mine were finally firming up again when I discovered I was pregnant again!

My sister is here today-she pushed dd all the way to surgery for my mw appointment for me, has hoovered my house, done the washing up and has now gone to asda for me! What a lucky girl I am!

Shells · 22/11/2007 17:03

I know this has been discussed before but can someone tell me again what helps bring on labour apart from RL tea? Was it pineapple?

mixedmama · 22/11/2007 17:08

7 fresh pineapples at least...

sex
curry
hot baths
nipple stimulation

mellymooks · 22/11/2007 17:23

Clary sage baths are also meant to speed things up, use 4-6 drops in the tub. xxxxxxxx

mememummy · 22/11/2007 17:28

mememummy · 22/11/2007 17:34

mixedmama · 22/11/2007 17:34

enjoy your romantic walk... you could end it with a little of the "other" and that might help bring it on

mixedmama · 22/11/2007 17:34

Havent got a clue... assume so tho if you are going to put in the bath

mememummy · 22/11/2007 17:35

Wizzska · 22/11/2007 17:39

Ooh, all you ladies wanting to bring the birth on. I'm scared and don't want it to happen yet. So not in a hurry for it!

Melly - I seem to need a nap at 3.00pm these days. Nearly asleep on the sofa today when my friend came round. Didn't mind though, lovely to see her.

mememummy · 22/11/2007 17:41

Wizzska · 22/11/2007 17:41

Hello again furryfox by the way.

mellymooks · 22/11/2007 17:42

Clary Sage is an essential oil which you must dilute in bath DO NOT use neat very strong indeed and you should only use when your due date is imminent or you are overdue. You could also mix it with a carrier oil like sweet almond oil and get dh to massage on back/bump, again use 20ml of swt almond to every 4-5 drops clary sage as v. powerful stuff.
You can get it at Holland & Barrett, Boots, Health Food Shops, but please use sparingly and with care.

mixedmama · 22/11/2007 17:43

mememummy go for it.

mellymooks · 22/11/2007 17:46

Gosh I sound well bossy in that message sorry! I'm an aromatherapist so just want to advise correctly - don't want anyone rushing out too early and using it as it really can trigger labour, I know a girl who just inhaled it for a few mins and had really strong BH for hrs, so please be careful!!!

mememummy · 22/11/2007 17:47

my mum is to lol she has just banned me from using it for another week, but at least i no now.

has any1 elses bp risen this week? 37weeks?

Caz10 · 22/11/2007 17:48

Helloooo all!
I've been reading and not posting too, so much to read that I always run out of time to post!
6 working days to go I CAN'T WAIT!
Your 3pm naps sound like bliss Wizzska! I'm aiming to have lots of them! This LO had better not come too early, have lots of delayed nesting to do!
Glad that everyone is well and so exciting to see babies on our list as well as due dates! Congrats to all new mummies!

So much to catch up on, but just wanted to say nooooo to ironing babygros! They are stretchy = no ironing in our house too!

Can't work out how to scroll back now that I've started typing, but noticed a few pages back that someone (mellymooks?) has ME - can I go slightly off topic and ask how you are managing? I've been back at work for a few years now after being off for a year with what was finally diagnosed as CFS. My mum has ME so I know it well! I'm a bit worried about symptoms coming back after birth. Hope you are doing ok anyway.

Not long to go..........!
