Hi ladies 👋 I'm tentatively setting up a thread for those of us who have made the scary leap from infertility to a BFP and still need a hand hold from others who get it 🤝

I'm only 4+4 and already worrying that the BFP is too good to be true (I've had a previous MMC at 10+5, so that bitter experience doesn't help). Would love the company of other warrior ladies to go through the ups and downs of this emotional roller coaster for as long as it lasts 🎢

@Bella1984 and @PT8998, tagging you ladies on the hope that you'll join me 💗

@em916 Thanks. I had to cancel my first vaccine appointment (I wanted to delay it a bit) and it took me three phonecalls to manage to rearrange it. I'm convinced the first two people I spoke to couldn't be bothered! The third one was just super efficient and sorted out really easily, so maybe keep on phoning...

Hope you have a nice time with your sisters, do they live in Edinburgh? I'm skipping a family party on Sunday as it's at my sister in laws (who's a teacher) who doesn't test herself or her kids as she doesn't want them off school, and generally hasn't bothered much the whole way through. I just don't feel comfortable as it'll be inside probably with the rest of the massive family - my husband is one of six.

Hope everyone's sickness eases off, mine had better vanish for tomorrow!

BambiOnIce80 · 07/06/2021 07:52

Excellent news on your scan @OM82! 😍 I hope you got your cardamom rolls? 😋 I had the blueberry and vanilla custard ones last weekend 😉 I don't blame you on the side stepping the parties front. Everyone I know seems to be trying to arrange meeting in massive groups (indoors! 🤯) at the moment and we keep making our excuses. I'm fully vaccinated but DP isn't, so I don't want to be putting his health at risk. Been telling everyone that we'll meet up once he's had both his vaccines 💉

Did you have a nice meet up with your sisters @Em916? I haven't see my folks for nearly 2 years and I can't see that changing anytime soon with them being 6.5 hours away 😏 They'd been being hyper-vigilant about covid regulations and social distancing (absolutely fully on board with that 👍), so weren't open to us going down to stay anytime soon... so imagine my surprise when I see on the family WhatsApp chat that my step sister and her kids have been allowed to come visit and stay over 🧐 You can pick your friends but you can't pick your family, right?! 🙄

Thanks for the OJ tip @lboogy 🍹 It's not my favourite, but might try pineapple juice to chase the aspirin down with 🤔 I need to start taking it on Saturday so must remember to get some in 🍍

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all have a good week.x

Happy Monday everyone!

@OM82 how annoying about your sister in law. Really shocked as she's a teacher but some people just don't care! 🙄

And yeah @BambiOnIce80 it's a shame to miss out on stuff indoors ☹️ Especially when weather is so lovely outdoors is a no brainier! And v annoying your folks not seeing you but other family. Do they know your pregnant and over cautious to protect you?

I had a lovely time with my sisters thanks both! One lives about an hour from Edinburgh and the other lives in the highlands but was visiting the other. So seemed like too good to miss out on and both were v sweet and took tests before as well. The weather was fab so lovely sitting in my sis's garden ☺️

We then went out Sunday for a quick explore to the beach in cramond but met up with friends and ended up walking along to south queensferry and turned into 6 hour trip! Knackered by yesterday evening but lovely exploring new places.

Just got a call from my midwife to see if I can make an appointment a week today instead and she sounded sooo lovely! Such a relief 🤗

And on countdown as my last week of progesterone...finally!!!

Bella1984 · 09/06/2021 05:05

Hi ladies

Just popped in to say hello and give you a wee update.

I had to go off grid for a while and it was the best decision. My scan was moves forward to yesterday.

It was amazing. Baby was doing 360 somersaults, hands behind head, waving, mooned us, back to somersaults! So cool. My husband was allowed in which was amazing. We got 9 pictures!

I was 11 and 5 yesterday, baby measuring 12 and 1 which is great (was a few days bigger at 7 wk scan too( Strong heartbeat, lovely round head. Everything where it should be! DD remains 23rd Dec 🎄

My appointment lasted 5.5 hours, I was expecting about 2! I'm being consultant led due to MH and physical things (not fertility but previous surgeries and other stuff) see them at 16 weeks which is great, only 4 weeks to go. I was super impressed with it tbf.

Confirmed for a c-section due to my needle tip cervix -the best genetic thing my mum passed on to me 😉

Not getting the Harmony, or the quadruple as they call it here. Can get it at 16 wks but for me it's an extra app don't need. Consultant said a baby as active as ours so early is a great sign 🙏

Anyways, I will read a few messages to get up to date and hopefully pop in and out now to chat to you all. I've missed your advice, honesty and insights

Hope you're all keeping OK

Bella xx

OM82 · 10/06/2021 14:19

Hi @bella1984, nice to see you back here again! Glad you're feeling fine and the scan went well. That sounds like a long appointment, must have been quite exhausting.

I enjoyed my trip to the big city and finally got my cardamon rolls. It was amazing @bambionice80 & @em916. I had a blueberry one and took some raspberry ones home with me to eat with a neighbour the.

I had a letter today with my blood results saying I've got quite a high risk of Downs (1 in 24) and the blood results seem off. I went against my own advice and googled lots so am now stressing about higher miscarriage results etc. from the bloods. It was a bit of a shock as I thought they phoned if you were high risk, and also I thought I would hear a bit sooner. I'm trying to focus on the fact that for the other two chromosome ones it was okay, but I am feeling a lot more anxious that before - I had finally started to relax a bit after the scan looked good. I've been given another appointment for Monday so I think we decided to do the NIPT blood test to try and know more.

I am trying to be calm about it but not succeeding very well - to make things harder it's my husband's birthday today and my parents are coming down this afternoon for dinner to visit for a couple of days. I don't want to tell them as they'll end up worrying lots, so will have to try and act fine. Anyway, sorry for the moan. I just don't have any friends I can talk to about it really.

BambiOnIce80 · 10/06/2021 18:29

I'm glad you got your cardamom rolls @OM82, but I'm really sorry to hear your risk result has been a shock - I wish I could give you a hug ❤️ I'm also shocked that it came through the post and wasn't a phone call to talk you through the next steps/NIPT and just to give you some reassurance, really 😟 I know Scotland sends their triple bloods down to England for testing (absolute madness if you ask me!), so I guess that might explain the delay. We've given tonnes of thought to what we would do in the same situation and we'd also be taking the NIPT bloods to get answers. Never apologise for moaning (you don't sound like you're moaning to me!) and I'm here if you want to talk things through/vent/whatever. There is still absolutely every chance the NIPT bloods will rule out any chromosomal abnormality - the triple is just a screen after all. I'm keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞

Lovely to hear from you @Bella1984 😍 I'm very jealous of your scan experience! I've got mine on Tuesday and I'm bricking it 😣 Managing to keep distracted though and constantly repeating the 'che sera, sera' mantra on the meantime 🔮

It sounds like you're getting the max out of your new surroundings @Em916 😎 Although it is making me feel guilty that I mostly snooze on the sofa at the weekends at the moment! 😳 How are you feeling about stopping the meds? I finished mine 2 weeks ago (I am again aghast at the difference in advice between clinics 🙄) and, as far as I know, everything is alright 🤞 I've not bled or anything, so I guess we'll find out what's been going on in there on Tuesday 🔮 On the folks front - no, they don't know I'm pregnant. I guess they just don't like me as much as my step sister and her kids 😏😉 I'm mostly over it... mostly 😬 Good luck for your appointments next week, just in case I don't speak to you before then 🍀

OP posts:
Em916 · 12/06/2021 17:43

@OM82 that's really poor to get such important information by letter. And you really don't sound like you are moaning at all!!!! Hope the appointment Monday goes ok and you don't need to wait too long for your results. A friend of mine had quite a high chance on first test and second test came back clear but I know it's easier said than done not to worry. Hopefully your parents are a nice distraction! And glad you finally got some of those awesome cardamon rolls ☺️

@Bella1984 good to see you back and glad you are feeling better for taking some time out. Fab news on your mammoth scan! And good you've got a 16 week scan sorted as I think it easier to countdown in smaller intervals. Are you planning to find out the gender?

@BambiOnIce80 I am pretty much glued to the sofa on weekdays! But yeah still super excited to be so close to family and friends. Sorry about your parents ☹️ I'm feeling v happy to stop the meds, so sick of them! I was tempted to stop early but worked out costing me £4.50 a day as had to get a private prescription and need to get my money's worth 🤣 All the best for your scan on Tuesday!!!

Me and my DP finally got our covid vaccine letters but for 7th July. A bit disappointed it's so far away but worked out should just make the 2nd vaccine before third trimester (by a few days!) even if it's 12 week wait between the 2 so at least that's something. My own fault for moving countries at the wrong time!

OM82 · 14/06/2021 12:59

Hi, just wanted to wish you good luck for tomorrow @BambiOnIce80, I am pretty certain you'll be getting nervous just now but I hope it all goes well and you get some nice images to look at. I'm also spending a lot of time sleeping on the sofa at the moment. Hopefully you can see your parents soon (in a way you feel safe), they are probably just unaware of how they are acting.

Thanks for the sympathy @BambiOnIce80 & @Em916. I had the appointment this morning, at least it was a quick turnaround. The midwife didn't seem overly kind or sympathetic which was hard but I've had bloods taken and should hopefully find out one way or the other start of next week. I think it's just the uncertainty that I'm finding hard at the moment - and trying to concentrate at work when I don't have a really focussed task. It was a bit of a nightmare having my parents here to be honest, I didn't really get a minute to myself and although they knew what was up (I wimped out totally and sent my husband to catch them on the way back from a dog walk and tell them what was happening, poor guy) I just really wanted to have the house to ourselves. I have a friend and her family up visiting for 10 days now but luckily they are staying in a holiday let in the village so it's not too bad.

Anyway, good news is I got my covid vaccine yesterday - my arm is really sore but apart from that no side effects yesterday. @Em916 can you have a look if there are any drop in clinics around Edinburgh you could go to sooner? I know my brother in law managed to do that in Glasgow last week.

BambiOnIce80 · 15/06/2021 13:37

Thank you for the good luck shout and the parent-related sympathy @OM82 and @Em916 ❤️ I think you're right - I doubt they see the double standard. I ended up in tears about it over the weekend, but I think I'm pretty much over it now. I'm not going to call them out on it because I want to be invited to visit them because they want to see me and not just get a forced invite because I've kicked off 🙄 I'm thinking about printing the scan picture on the inside of my dad's father's day card... Let's see if that gets me an invite to stay!! 😜

@OM82 I'm so sorry that you didn't get a nice midwife on Monday 😢 Kindness really doesn't cost anything! I've no idea why some people go into the caring profession! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've got everything crossed for you for your result coming back 🤞🤞🤞 I was reading that only 1 in 15 ladies who come back high risk on the combined test actually test positive for downs syndrome on the NIPT, so I'm praying that you'll be one of the 14 who test negative 🙏🙏🙏

Is your appointment for the Royal Highland showground @Em916 ? DP had his there and he was given pfiezer, so 🤞 My friend (who isn't pregnant) had hers at the EICC and she was given Moderna, so there's definitely non-Astra Zeneca's about 👍

So - I had my scan this morning and we have a heartbeat and we're measuring a couple of days ahead at 12+5 💓 Was there for over an hour because the bambino didn't want to get into a position that the sonographer could take her measurements from! 😄 It was flipping around all over the place! Seems nuts when you can't feel anything! 🤷🏻‍♀️ They told me that the blood results for the trisomy risk should take about a week, but the midwife will call me if it comes back high risk otherwise it'll be a letter through the post... I guess we'll see 🔮

Bella1984 · 15/06/2021 14:23

Hi everyone

Sorry, so busy atm as starting my new job next month so having to work through my patients etc . . .

So so glad your scan went well @bambi
I didn't have to move at all! I'm sure it depends on the midwife.

Flip I feel very lucky at 36 I am not high risk or not classed as high risk anyway. My midwife said if we have a somersaulting baby at 12 weeks we won't have any issues, which was encouraging but a little unprofessional maybe as of course there are never any guarantees . . . Praying for all of our wee bambinos to be healthy xx

Bella1984 · 15/06/2021 14:25

My next app is 6th July with the consultant to plan the c-section etc. Then we have booked a 4D gender scan on 9th July as it's only £59 and we just couldnt resist! We don't mind boy or girl more intrigued and it's the cheapest way to get a 4D scan here! Plus my mum can come too which is fab she's all bizz.

Sending love and hugs to you all and hoping you all get good news xx

Em916 · 17/06/2021 21:49

@OM82 so sorry about your midwife. It shouldn't be pot luck whether you get a nice one. I too don't get why you would be in a job like that and not be nice! Really hoping you get a negative result back soon.

@BambiOnIce80 fab news on your scan!!! 🤗 1 hour is a long time but cute you got to see the bambino for so long. Loving the scan photo in the card to finally get the invite to stay, smart move!!!

@Bella1984 I didn't even know you could get a 4d scan! But sounds fab and great your mum can go too.

I had my 12 week scan this morning and everything looking good!!! Baby was moving around a lot too, heartbeat and measuring 4 days ahead. It was quite emotional after everything! Might be the tiredness though as did not sleep at all last night 😴

And then this afternoon I had my vaccine! On Tuesday I had a wee look online and I was able to reschedule my 7th July appt to a place 40 min drive away from Edinburgh. DP was able to do the same.

I hope you all have a fab weekend! Any plans? We have a Airbnb booked in a remote spot on the west coast on Saturday for 2 nights . Our first trip away since jan 2020 so really looking forward to it!

Bella1984 · 18/06/2021 08:57

Thank you @Em916

Your weekend break sounds amazing! Our one night in the hotel was our first since Dec 2019, madness. You will appreciate it all the more!

Yes private clinics do 4D scans here and £59 is a great price I think. I'll send you all a pic incase it's something your interested in.

I'm off today and getting my hair done, can't wait! Watching England Scotland tonight with my dad and will be cheering on Scotland, have to go for the underdogs and I think England are too arrogant! I've £3 on the Scots to win at 10-1!

Sunday I'm doing a spa day with my wee sis which my husband booked for us. Managed to get 40% off with my NHS blue light card! We have 3 mini treatments and half a day in the spa in a private members club so should ne nice and safe. Cannot wait.

Vaccines sound good. I'm holding off until I've given birth , just what I've been advised by fertility consultants so sticking with it but have moments I'm like ugh wish I'd been able to get it! Lucky in N.ireland there are a lot less cases then rest of the UK and especially low where I live thankfully. So I am just being super careful of course and feel more relaxed I'm into my second trimester, yay!

@OM82 also sorry about the midwife. I work as a physio and never ceases to amaze and disappoint me the number of not very nice HC professionals you encounter! Ah well, next one will hopefully be much nicer.

Happy Friday ladies enjoy your weekends xx

BambiOnIce80 · 18/06/2021 09:41

That's fantastic news @Em916! 😍 I completely understand the relief 🤗 I was laid on the treatment table with my eyes squeezed tight shut until the sonographer said "there's a lovely heartbeat and they're very active, flipping about all over the place" 😣 DP was super emotional too. He looked completely dazed when we were in the appointment and then got about 10 paces outside the treatment centre before we had to stop and have a cuddle so that he could have a big sob 🥺 He said the relief and emotion of it all just hit him like a sledge hammer... we definitely got a few funny looks from passers-by! 😂 Marvellous news that you got your jab all done and dusted too 💪 Sounds like you're all sorted for your (lovely sounding!) couple of nights away 👍 DP and I are fancying the NC500 if we do get as far as having a babymoon - it's so beautiful on that northwest coast 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 😊

I'm very jealous of you getting to the hairdressers @Bella1984! 💇‍♀️ That's top of my list once I've gotten our test results back - my roots are horrific! 🤦🏻‍♀️Enjoy your spa break 💆🏻‍♀️

Thinking of you @OM82 💓

We're having a long weekend because it was DP's birthday yesterday 🎂 Went out for breakfast and dinner and even went a little bit mad and bought a couple of maternity clothes far sooner than I meant to! 😳 I'm soooooo bloated that I look way more pregnant than I am 😳 Regardless of whether I'm tempting fate or not, the dungaree shorts are super comfy 🔮 😉

Lunch out planned for tomorrow but not much else. I bit the bullet and found a winnie the pooh moonpig card that said "happy fathers day from the bump" and slapped one of the scan pictures on the front of it for my dad, so I guess we'll see what his reaction is on Sunday 😬

OP posts:
Bella1984 · 18/06/2021 09:55

@bambi . . . You are my hero going to grab a card for my hubby on way to hair app, thank you!!!! Had meant to but just been so busy and have a dad and.a step dad to sort out ha. Such a lovely idea.

Can't wait for hair, had it cut last month for first time in 18 months boy did it need it! I'm lucky I actually have about 4 grey hairs (beauty of being a natural red head!) But now am second trimester going to get a few copper lowlights and some highlights to frame my face, make me feel summery! No bleach I don't go there anyway. Hair dressers is huge high ceilings and all open windows with all staff in PPE and visors it's really good RE covid.

Weekend sounds fab happy belated bday to your DP 🎉

We were very emotional too, who wouldn't be. I had a wee happy tear and my husband got so excited he started videoing the scan and got told off ha bless he was like oops! I have felt so much more relaxed since then.

I'm 13 + 1 today! Where are all you up to now I've lost track?

A xx

BambiOnIce80 · 18/06/2021 10:37

I love your red hair @Bella1984! 😍 I'm cursed with mid-brown hair and pale eyes, so I was always going to be prone to going grey early 😞 I found my first grey hair when I was 27! I'd say I'm about 30% grey now, so sadly not enough to just stop dying and embrace it but enough to look an absolute mess if a global pandemic and early pregnancy hits and you can't get your roots done! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm measuring 13+1 (twinny! 🤩) but I think my due date is still 24.12.21, which I think would make me 13+0? I'm going to ask the midwife about it the next time I see her because I'll need to know my technical due date for mat leave purposes.

I'm in a weird place now... I feel like I want to completely embrace being pregnant now that we've had a good 12 week scan (thus the getting carried away and buying a couple of maternity clothes! 🤦🏻‍♀️), especially as I've been so pragmatic/cautious about the pregnancy so far after my MMC. However, I'm also terrified of the trisomy result and keep thinking I'm setting myself up for a terrible shock by embracing it 😞 I don't know 🙄 It's really complicated feelings and I have no-one to talk to about it IRL. Sorry if this isn't the kind of stuff that we want to talk about on this thread 😔 I think I'm just an awful combination of being both massively excited and yet still fearing the worst, all at the same time - it's completely messing with my head 🤯

OP posts:
Bella1984 · 18/06/2021 12:21

@BambiOnIce80

This is exactly what on here is for. Bless you.

I am apprehensively embracing being pregnant finally! But I can understand with the test results coming up. When should you hear? I am sure all will be well, positive thoughts.

I've bought some maternity stuff now including a dungaree dress! And the best pregnancy pillow ever, expensive but so worth it.

I'm sure your hair is not as bad as you me out! Brown hair and pale eyes is a nice combo.

Currently sat looking like an idiot ha can't wait for final result.

Twinning indeed my DD is 23rd Dec! Even though I think will be around the 20th.

Are you going to find out whether you're having a boy or girl?

A xx

BambiOnIce80 · 19/06/2021 10:04

Thank you @Bella1984 ❤️ They should take about a week, so I guess I might hear back anytime around Tuesday. I'm back to trying to put it out of my mind for now so that I don't drive myself mad thinking about it. It's not long to wait now 🔮

Which pregnancy pillow did you go for? I haven't looked at them too much but have heard that the jojo maman bebe one at about £150 is supposed to be great (and it had better be for that sort of money! 💸). Would definitely be interested to hear which one you went for 👍

DP wouldn't mind finding out what we're having but I really don't want to, so he's happy to wait. I know everyone feels differently about it, but to me it feels like opening my presents 4 months before Christmas (which is a good analogy, given when we're due! 😂). I'm surprised I feel like that because I'm usually a massive planner and you'd imagine having everything the 'right' colour would appeal to me, but it doesn't 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thinking about it, it might be something to do with my own parents experience with me 🤔 They were told they were definitely having a boy (based on amniocentesis result), so painted everything blue, got blue/boys clothes, only had boys names picked out, etc, etc... and then I turned up 😁 I don't think my dad has gotten over it to this day 😏

OP posts:
Bella1984 · 19/06/2021 10:12

I went for the Jono Mama Bebe pillow!!! It's amazing. I got NHS discount though so was £114 I think which is expensive but honestly totally worth it, I need it for my back more than preggers atm.

Yeah it's a personal thing. I won't be painting anything blue or pink anyway tbf though! We are going for nice pastel greens, blues and greys. Work in progress!

Check out wallpaper mural for feature walls for the nursery. They have removable self adhesive wall art which we are going to get for one wall. It can then be removed and updated as the bambino gets older 😊

I was one of 3 girls and my mum knew every time ha. I was always to be Amy, Charlie on the off chance I was a boy! Ha

I just want to know because for me its like opening a small present early which you can enjoy until the big present in 6 months!

Everything crossed for you results xx

Ps Jojo Mama bebe do lovely underwear and clothes too

Your hair looks fabulous! 😍 I definitely need to get myself an appointment in the diary 💇‍♀️

Excellent to hear another good review for the jojo maman bebe pillow! 🤩 I think that would be my first purchase if the results come back OK next week 🤞 Did you use your blue light card to get the discount or do they accept NHS ID cards? The clothes I got on Thursday were from my local jojo maman bebe store, so that's a bit of a bugger that I might have been able to get a discount! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I didn't notice that they do murals, so will definitely check that out 👍 Although I'm trying to not get carried away yet, I have absolutely been thinking about the nursery! 😂 I fell in love with this mural from a local designer:

"Iona's Animal World Mural — Mairi Helena | Fabrics, Wallpapers & Home Accessories" www.mairihelena.co.uk/shop-all/ionas-animal-world-mural

It's bloody expensive, so thought DP would tell me to give my head a wobble but he's in love with it too! Was thinking of sage greens and heather-y kinds of blues/purples instead of the pink in the picture 🤔 Will have to see whether our budget will stretch to it if we get to the nursery stage 🤞🔮

Have a lovely time at your spa today 💆‍♀️ We're off out for pizza 🍕 Not quite as relaxing, but definitely tasty! 😋

Bella1984 · 21/06/2021 06:45

Hey,

Thanks RE my hair, always makes me feel better and had been 2 years since had it properly done!

Yes the pillow is worth it for sure. Blue light card gets you minimum 15% off online or instore, at least you know now before the pillow.

That wallpaper is divine love it! Ours is animal themed in pale duck egg with hot air balloons & cute wee animals & clouds it's lovely. Again chek for discount!

When do you think you will hear about your results?

Spa day was unreal so nice. Had a facial foot & arm massage so relaxing. Then did 30 lengths in the pool. Have joined as a member and am planning to swim twice a week. Need to do something!

Are any of you into your exercising usually and are you keeping it up?

I am getting terrible wind / constipation/ heart burn now which uve never had, awful! Not even just when I eat.

Anyways, happy Monday gals hope it's a good week. The sun is shining here

A ☀️ xx

OM82 · 21/06/2021 20:23

Hi again, nice to read all your messages and see your getting on at well. We got our NIPT results back today and to my massive relief they all came back low risk. It was a very anxious day, they said we would hear today and then no phone call by 3.50 so my husband ended up calling the hospital to chase it up. But I can relax now (for a few weeks anyway!)

The more we thought about it the worse the "specialist" midwife we saw last week seemed, she said things like "I went bother explaining the numbers as I'm sure you've googled it all" and "we don't give you any information abour the implications of low papp-a just now so you only have to deal with one thing at a time" (even though you obviously get doom stories from Google). Anyway, the one we spoke to today was a lot nicer and explained everything fully.

I hope you get some good results soon @bambionice80. Apparently low risk screenings can take up to three weeks. I think this thread is a great place to share concerns as we're all in the same place (and I do think having to do ivf gives you a different starting mindset).

I hope you enjoyed your weekend away @em916. Where did you go? We're off to the East Neuk on Wednesday for a couple of nights which I'm really looking forward to. Just lots of dog walks and ice cream I think.

And very fancy hair @bella1984. When I saw my hairdresser summer she joked that I'm the customer least affected by covid as I normally only go once a year anyway. Though I am overdue now!

BambiOnIce80 · 22/06/2021 08:01

Oh @OM82 that is the absolute best news to wake up to!! 😍 What a massive relief! 😪 Have you treated yourself in some way to celebrate the good news after all that stress? The East Neuk is beautiful 🥰 I'm very jealous of your mini-break coming up 😏

Glad to hear you had a lovely time at the spa @Bella1984 💆‍♀️ I normally run but haven't ventured out since the morning of transfer - I know I'm being far too cautious, especially after how the sonographer was flipping me about to get the bambino to wriggle into the right position! 😳 I do walk to and from the train station nearly every day though and get more than 10,000 steps in, so I'm not too worried about exercise... yet!

Regarding the trisomy results - still not heard anything, which I'm hoping is good news 🤞 I bumped into a neighbour last night who I hadn't chatted to for ages and she had a big old baby bump 🤰🏻Turns out she's 26 weeks and has the same midwife as me, so asked her what her experience was of getting the trisomy results. She said they would have rung her if she was high risk (so, same as I was told), but because she was low risk she didn't get her results until her 16 week appointment! 😕 There's no way my inner control freak can cope with that! I need to know! 🤯 I think I'm just going to have to be the pain in the arse patient and call my midwife on Wednesday, at the very least to make sure there was no problem with the sample/results (even if they don't give me the specific results). I appreciate that no news is supposed to be good news, but it could also be that no news is 'your sample leaked in transit - we'll need to repeat it'! I know... I'm being a bit mental about this 😬

In other news, my dad was very excited about his father's day card 😊 And we are now magically invited to go down and stay with them... quelle surpisé 😏😉

Thanks @bambionice80. We did a bit of celebrating by driving into Stirling to get an ice cream in the evening! But we're away now on the coast which is lovely.

I hope your parents feel a bit ashamed and make a proper fuss of you! Good luck with the waiting, we were talking afterward would it have been better to not have done it at all. It's such a personal choice but in the we were glad we did it, and had decided the different things we'd do depending on the result beforehand which was definitely useful.
