Hi ladies 👋 I'm tentatively setting up a thread for those of us who have made the scary leap from infertility to a BFP and still need a hand hold from others who get it 🤝

I'm only 4+4 and already worrying that the BFP is too good to be true (I've had a previous MMC at 10+5, so that bitter experience doesn't help). Would love the company of other warrior ladies to go through the ups and downs of this emotional roller coaster for as long as it lasts 🎢

@Bella1984 and @PT8998, tagging you ladies on the hope that you'll join me 💗

Hi Everyone! Baby Elis arrived on 27th dec. I ended up having a section too! An emergency one after getting to 9.5cm dilated then just couldn't get to 10cm which was very annoying!!! I was induced on my due date on 26th dec and he was born at 10:50pm on the 27th and weighed 7lbs11oz (so not small at all! Part of reason got induced was because of a growth scan showing him tailing off and going from 90th percentile to 48th percentile).

Got out of hospital Wednesday lunchtime. Feeling pretty sore after the op (so hard to try and not use stomach muscles especially when trying to sit up in bed). And very very tired! We can't get him to nap in his cot or basket at all so have to take turns to sleep while he naps on one of us. Although got 4 hols last night and felt like a good sleep ha ha!

He's such a wee cutie though so definitely worth it and seems to got the hang of feeding but a bit all over the place with timings of them.

Congratulations @em916, Elis looks very cute!

I hope you're all settling in well at home together. How are you feeling after the section? Definitely take it easy and accept any help, it can be a slow recovery but hopefully not for you (I'm still pretty sore unfortunately, but definitely getting there). I sleep propped up on pillows and use my arms to sort of drag myself into a more upright position. To get up it's also recommended to roll onto your side first but I end up a bit like a beached whale with that!

The feeding takes a while to settle down as well, we're onto every 2.5hr at night and 3.5hr in the day pretty consistently. But shorter feeds than initially which helps a lot. If you haven't already had it you'll have a big cluster feeding night the next day or two to get the milk in properly.

How's everyone else getting on? @bambionice80 @bella1984

Congratulations @Em916, he's gorgeous! 😍

Thanks for asking after me ladies 🥰 Baby boy Arlo is 2 weeks old now and weighed in at just under 10lbs! 😳 The surgeon said afterwards that there was no way he would have come out naturally with his big head so I felt very validated in opting for the section 😉

We had a bit of a rocky start with being in and out of hospital for the first week (my milk didn't come in with a high enough volume, so he lost too much weight 😔), but I think we're (mostly!) getting there now 🤞🏻 Still finding breastfeeding very full on, even with having to supplement him with formula! 😳 I look forward to when we can look back on these frazzled early days with a wry smile 😏

Congrats @Em916 he is lovely! As is Arlo @BambiOnIce80 -sounds like you've had a tough few weeks I hope it settles soon.

Unfortunately due to recommencing medications I wasn't allowed to breast feed which I am still gutted about. But didn't have a choice. Feeding has been going better and she last weighed in at 7 12. Still small.compared to some of yours!

Glad to hear your recovering @OM82, I must've been lucky or am just very used to surgeries as it really didn't bother me at all (I've had 10 previous surgeries including a few major ones) but I guess it is different for everyone and depends on the surgeon etc. My scar is so neat! But my big jelly belly which used to be a beautiful bump is def not my friend. Have to keep reminding myself I just gave birth less than 4 weeks ago. I hope you are all being kind to yourselves too! I pr9bs have 2.5 stone to lose but just going to try and be sensible about it. Anyways hope you're all keeping OK. Wishing you all a peaceful night with as much time as possible between feeds!that's the dream these days eh xxxx

Ps that is a medical grade sheepskin she is lay on, my mum got it for us, especially for babies and she absolutely loves it. Goes from her moses basket to her pram to her snooze pod (what she sleeps in at night beside me) oh and I've started walking lots with the pram which I'm really enjoying and hoping it helps with the belly! Lovely to hear from you all and let's keep sharing tips and keep each other sane. I'm hoping some baby clubs start up once covid calms down xx
