Thanks @SpyroC... I’m 6+4 😊

SamoyedFan123 · 04/01/2021 13:48

Dating scan this morning at 13+1. All going well so far but the photo is rubbish as baby refused to cooperate! Such a relief to get past this one!

Yay! Great news on the scan @SamoyedFan123 😍. What are the next steps? Mine said something about hooper vaccine and a 16w check where they listen to the heart beat. Did you have the screenings done? I never think the photos do it justice.

Well I survived my first day back in work. I'm so glad the nausea seems to have calmed down a bit. It's still there but is less aggressive. Still threw up when brushing this morning though! 🤢 I hope anyone else returning to work today did ok. X

Welcome @SamoyedFan123! Great news on your scan! So pleased to hear all is well!

Well done @SpyroC on your first day back too - sorry you were sick this morning, hope you’re able to relax this evening. First day back here too but wfh still so in awe of you with your line of work.
Thanks for the reminder on vaccines - I need to check on that for my booking appt this week. Need to make a list of q’s!!

TheGlitterFairy · 04/01/2021 19:13

@MGee123 Sorry you’ve been feeling ill also - has it eased off at all for you? Is it worth speaking to a GP about anti sickness meds?
I’m doing ok thanks - feeling very tired still and not sleeping well which is my main issue really. My dry lips and thirst have made a comeback too!!
Not long til your booking appt which is good! Mine is on the 8th and I’m feeling oddly nervous about it. Ridiculous really!! I need to sort out a list of q’s and timeline of medical history. I’ve a feeling I may be there a while 😂

@BonTon hope all goes well with your scan tomorrow 🙏

I’ve finally reached the last injection of Lubion this eve!! Feels like a milestone getting to this point! Nervous that my body won’t be making enough to keep things going despite the consultant saying nearly 2 weeks ago there was enough and all would be ok!!! Argh!!!!

SamoyedFan123 · 04/01/2021 19:52

@TheGlitterFairy I stopped my lubion jabs two weeks ago - it's quite nerve wracking isn't it? I'm currently phasing out my utrogestan pessaries and planning to drop from two to one per day tonight - I'm stupidly nervous about it lol.

TheGlitterFairy · 04/01/2021 22:18

@SamoyedFan123 it is nerve wracking. I just worked out that on this round I’ve had 167 injections as was on 3/day initially then 2 x Lubions in the last couple of weeks. No pessaries to ease down on, just hard core stopping. Argh!!! Will be on knicker watch again (not that it’s particularly stopped 😂) and praying my body can work some magic. Wishing you luck too!!!

SamoyedFan123 · 04/01/2021 22:26

@TheGlitterFairy 3 lubion shots per day??? That's a lot - must have been costing you an absolute fortune too 😕 I don't really need them tbh - I used pressies only in my last fresh cycle, and started this frozen cycle on pessaries only. They added lubion at 6 weeks because I had been bleeding on and off since 3.5 weeks and I was totally stressed out about it. Turned out that it was just a little haematoma that they found at 6.5 weeks scan that was causing it, but since I had started on lubion then I didn't feel comfortable stopping it again. Was a waste really as the bleeding stopped completely at 6 weeks.

BonTon · 04/01/2021 22:27

Congrats @SamoyedFan123! @TheGlitterFairy what a result stopping the injections 🙌🏻

tikha · 04/01/2021 23:07

@BonTon good luck for tomorrow's scan. @SamoyedFan123 congrats on your dating scan and a virtual hi
@TheGlitterFairy can't wait to finish with this pessaries.
@SpyroC i guess you are mostly doing remote work now and will be able to socially distance from the key worker kids.
@MGee123 similar situation with work really. Trying to use my AL to compensate.
Had a mini scare after finishing a 12 hour shift noticed some old blood so booked a scan which looked ok. Phew.. there a tiny sliver of blood in the womb but sonographer said its common in ivf pregnancy. She recommended I walk less but I haven't heard that walking is a risk factor for bleeding. Will need to clarify with midwife before my second set of nights.
On a positive note we are now able to get covid vaccinations which am thrilled about.

TheGlitterFairy · 05/01/2021 07:22

@SamoyedFan123 I was initially on 1 x IM progesterone and 1 x blood thinner (Inhixa) then finally switched to 2 x Lubions instead of the IM / ass injection plus 1 x Inhixa, then went down to the 2 x Lubions a day - plus 6 x estradiol tablets / day too, which I still seem to be taking and am sure I don’t need to now so will check on that today!!! So many injections - it’s been a very long and hard journey to get to this point so the consultant was “throwing the kitchen sink” at it with all the meds. I’m 11+2 today so I guess it worked 😂 though I’m sure the DE had something to do with it too!! Either way, it’s nerve wracking but nice not to have to faff around with the needles this morning!
Understood on the pessaries - and good that the bleeding stopped at 6 weeks too! I guess if you have them to use up there’s no harm and it provides reassurance 👍

Thanks @BonTon!! My DH was impressed he’d given 34 of the 167 😂😂😂 Good luck today 🙏🙏

@tikha thanks - when will you finish the pessaries? Sorry to hear you had a scare - good you had it all checked out and all ok. Will you be able to have the Covid vaccination? If they’re rolling it out to NHS who are pg, that’s a great piece of news!!

ivfjourney5 · 05/01/2021 11:02

@SpyroC good news about the schools for you! It must be a big relief. And we are indeed very strong!! Lovely to hear you've got your scan booked in, and other appointments are all sorted as well

Hi @SamoyedFan123 Nice to hear you had a reassurance scan at the clinic at 10 weeks. I'm already thinking of booking myself a 10week scan but I don't know if it's excessive at that'll be my third 😂 And lovely to hear dating scan was good, despite little baby being awkward! I'm in North Wales so not near but nice to have another fellow Welsh person

@BonTon I don't blame you booking in a private scan earlier, it's such a hard wait isn't it!! I hope your clinic scan goes well this afternoon 🤞🏼

@TheGlitterFairy yeyyy for stopping the injections 🎉 it's so nervous isn't it, but all will be okay!

My clinic scan went well this morning, nice heartbeat and measuring spot on again. I finish my Lubion tomorrow at 7+6 which I'm quite anxious about as it seems earlier than most, but I continue on the cyclogest for a bit longer. My appointment was quite late (as usual 🙄) but a poor lady walked out crying her eyes out and I was in my car nearly crying for her 😭 I was feeling alright before hand but it reminded me how cruel things can be, I just wanted to get out my car and give her a hug 😭

SamoyedFan123 · 05/01/2021 11:40

@ivfjourney5 and @tikha thank you 😊 I'm so glad you've both had positive scans too - it's such a relief afterwards but I find the reassurance doesn't last long! I had several early scans too, mainly because I was so anxious after the bleeds but after the one I had just after 10 weeks I was able to relax a little bit more as they say the risk of miscarriage drops a lot after that point. I also knew that my NHS scan was going to be late (after 13 weeks), so for me a10 week scan was definitely a better option than worrying all over Xmas.
That must have been awful seeing the lady come out crying - every time I set for in a scan room I always worry that that will be me - literally had nightmares about it 😭

TheGlitterFairy · 05/01/2021 13:34

@ivfjourney5 apologies - I didn’t realise you had your scan today too!! Pleased it went well 😊 no harm in booking a 10 week scan if it’ll keep you going til the 12 week one....!!

Poor lady that you saw - 😭 awful. I remember coming out of a consultation room with lots of people waiting/ looking - as you do - when we’d just been told our treatment round - last one with OE - was being cancelled due to poor response and I’d never be able to have a baby with my own egg - and would need a donor if we were to pursue the dream. I was a teary mess too and sure I didn’t help those waiting to be seen. 😭

I’m now off the estradiol tablets too so no more drugs for me!! A double whammy today! Eek!!!

BonTon · 05/01/2021 14:54

Great news @ivfjourney5. Mine also went well and the little blob has grown quite a bit since Sunday 🥰 ... seems like the clinic recommend another scan in 2 weeks time... xxx

SamoyedFan123 · 05/01/2021 15:23

Lovely news! @Bonton

ivfjourney5 · 05/01/2021 16:09

@TheGlitterFairy Don't be silly, there's so many scans going on between us all, you don't need to apologise at all!

@TheGlitterFairy and @SamoyedFan123 I always had the fear of crying as well, my last cancelled cycle I found out at home from a phone call so I could cry as much as I wanted, but the cancelled cycle before that I just about held it together until I started driving away and then drove all the way home crying my eyes out. It's so heartbreaking, I tried to not make it obvious that I had seen her so hopefully she wasn't embarrassed about it on top of everything else!!

@BonTon woo so happy for you!! 🥰

I booked the 10 week scan 😂

MGee123 · 05/01/2021 19:40

Happy new year @BonTon ! Lovely news to read about your scan - congrats! How many weeks are you now? Are you back at work now? Agree with others re sizing - it's really inaccurate this early so try not worry. Heartbeat is the key thing I think 👍

@SpyroC I thought the yolk sac was another baby at first on our scan - nearly had a heart attack 😂 well done for getting through first day back at work. Can you flex your working hours in the day a bit to give you a rest when needed?

Congrats on your scan too @SamoyedFan123 ! Although sorry they were being a bit uncooperative 😂 my friend said she got sent to drink a cup of coffee at her 12 week scan to wake the baby up as he was too chilled 😂

@TheGlitterFairy im a bit nervous too, but am sure it will be fine. Must be mostly common sense stuff I hope?! I'm luckily rather uncomplicated medically which should make it easier. Good luck for yours and congrats on the progesterone milestone! 😊

@tikha glad you're scan was okay too! Sorry to hear about the bleeding - that must have given you a fright. I still knicker check regularly. Assume I will stop at some point 🤞😂

Yes I read the update re the vaccines. As far as I understood they recommend those who are clinically vulnerable due to other heath conditions, and are pregnant, have it. And also frontline health and social care workers. I think it's essentially a risk benefit analysis of your personal risk vs likely exposure. I'm going to discuss with the midwife on Mon and read a bit more, as I am still a little unsure but inclined to take it when offered.

Congrats on your scan too @ivfjourney5 ! That sounds very distressing for that poor lady. We saw people come out crying at our clinic and it did feel horrible. 😢

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and have started feeling better the last 2 days! Less tired and less violently nauseous. I can function like this and am managing to eat a bit more of a varied diet (less bread), which is reassuring (and good because work is manic)! Now trying not to worry that symptoms lessening are a bad sign 😂 this is just one long worry train!

ChicaXS · 06/01/2021 14:35

Afternoon all

I’m so sorry I’ve been absent on this thread unintentionally it’s just been a manic, mental month and my mental and physical symptoms have been intense. I’m 10 weeks and still have really bad nausea and vomiting. My mental health has taken a shit as I’m constantly worried about bleeding or covid or anything that can harm the baby!
I self referred weeks ago and haven’t heard anything since, I may call today to chase up. Is it weird that I’m anxious to have a booking appt or scan?!?
Good news is the spotting isn’t bad now it subsided slightly week 8 but I still panic!
I have read back all the threads and I’m so happy to see @BonTon join us :)
I’m also ecstatic for you girls it seems like the 1st trimester is going to well!!!!!
Is anyone worried about covid whilst pregnant? Personally I don’t want the vaccine whilst pregnant as it’s really early days. I feel reserved but am extremely worried about catching the virus?

TheGlitterFairy · 06/01/2021 15:51

Great news on the scan @BonTon and nice to have another one in a couple of weeks to check on things again!

@ivfjourney5 haha good for you on the 10 week scan. I'm already wondering about a 16 week one as seems a long time to wait to 20 weeks assuming I make it that far of course - don't want to count my chickens.

@MGee123 I hope so and assume the same. Good you're uncomplicated medically! I used to be the same but had to have a few surgeries in the last few years that I imagine will crop up - 1 relating to endo; 3 relating to an injury I sustained during the egg collection in round 2 (total shit show) and then a hysteroscopy in the summer before the FET - so need to make a list of it all as no doubt will forget the dates!! Argh! Sure it'll be fine! Thanks on the progesterone milestone!! Smile

@ChicaXS sorry to hear you're feeling unwell still - really hope it passes soon. Not weird that you're feeling anxious about the booking and scan - totally there with you on that!

SamoyedFan123 · 06/01/2021 16:46

@ChicaXS i got Covid at 10.5 weeks, was very unwell for two full weeks and still not 100% the weeks later. I got very anxious and found the midwives little help although the GP was very sympathetic (nothing that can be done about it though obviously). I've just had my dating scan at 13 +1 and everything was fine.

SamoyedFan123 · 06/01/2021 16:48

Also, I am now completely terrified of catching it again, i was so unwell (i am asthmatic though), and would probably have the vaccine if I was offered it. I won't be as I'm not in healthcare.

ivfjourney5 · 06/01/2021 17:55

@ChicaXS I'm so pleased to her from you! I was really worried something had gone wrong, you've made me day knowing little baby is still alright 🥰 I'm sorry to hear your so poorly though, and it's not weird at all to be anxious, quite normal in fact! Look after yourself 😘

@TheGlitterFairy I'd already decided I will have a 16 week one, 8 weeks between the 12 and 20 week is far too long! Obviously I won't book that until nearer to the time for fear of jinxing it! Go for it I say! There's also the opportunity to get the gender early then as well if you want to?

SamoyedFan123 · 06/01/2021 19:08

Are private gender /reassurance scans still allowed in lockdown does anyone know? I was also thinking of having a16-18 week one but then thought that's probably not classed as essential medical care /travel so wondered if the clinics will be allowed to do them?

ivfjourney5 · 06/01/2021 21:01

@SamoyedFan123 I've heard if it's just booked as a gender scan they are being cancelled as it isn't essential to know the gender, but if you book a reassurance scan they are going ahead, and then ask for the gender during the scan
