For want of a better title, I'll go with Inzi's

Well then, today has all been a bit of a blur for me so far. Dropped ds off at nursery, then went to see mw at 10.30, she did a sweep (wasn't that uncomfortable by the way) and then pronounced that she thought he might still be breech so sent me off straight to hospital for a scan. Got there at 11.30, had scan.... and he is breech because she did me a sweep they don;t want to leave me over the weekend, so I am going in for a cs tomorrow morning 8am my mind is all a whirl, thought I would let you all know, and then I am going to repack my bags now I know what's happening. Will probably be in hospital till monday/tues if there are no problems. So much to sort out and do this afternoon now, must get on, will catch up with you all later, hopefully you will find this thread ok

Poor you ess! sounds like a stressfull couple of days, hope you get some rest now so you can get some energy back for the real thing, can't be long now, hang in there!

WinnieThePooh · 13/10/2007 20:48

Hi everyone.

I came home about 4pm yesterday.

Shula loves her Amby Nest and settles really well in it. She woke at 8.30 after a 2 hour sleep in it. DP changed her nappy and she has had a bit of a feed before settling back down. She will probably wake again shortly for the other breast, so I am making the most of the time and catching up on here.

Ess, sorry to hear you are having a hard time at the moment. I hope things start moving soon for you.

I hope everyone else is well.

ChocolateHobnob · 14/10/2007 09:13

Poor you Ess! I hope it happens today. Did the unexpected win incite the baby into action?

Hi Winnie - nice to hear from you! I'm glad Shula likes the Amby's nest. Do other people have a nest, too? I'm interested in them and don't have one.

Today it's supermarket shopping this am. This pm we're going to visit some friends and their two little boys, littlest one about 18 weeks and older one 2 1/2. Fun.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

muppetgirl · 14/10/2007 10:00

Hi all,
My b/f came for the day yesterday and we had a good old chat which is really what I needed. Went out for lunch and then tidied the house and did a bit more sorting of Henry's room. Ollie has already put back anything that is 'his into his room so that's going to be interesting...

Watched the rugby - weren't the England boys fab!!! We are currently looking for our England flag and can't find it so are contemplating painting our white front door with a red stripe. Dh not that keen as you can imagine!

Today we're up the gym for Ollie's swimming lesson/ Ollie's weekly worship of the blonde lady that teaches him I really should say.

Have a good day all
x

Hi all, I'm still here. Still nothing. Maybe I'm not pregnant at all and just full of wind! I'm booked in for an induction on Friday so at least I know I'll have my baby by next weekend.

Have a nice weekend everyone

unicorn · 14/10/2007 13:41

ess - I know the feeling and I'm not overdue yet.
Really hoping it'll be soon though as it's getting very tiresome, and the braxton hicks are not particularly relaxing.

We all went to Chessington yesterday,of course I realised I wouldn't be able to go on any proper rides, so went on one that looked as though it was for little ones and fairly safe/ok (some sort of boats?) anyhow, as soon as it started I thought oh dear - perhaps not.
Up and down and round and round..... I was rather worried as was dh and the kids.

Nevertheless babe hasn't been shaken by the events and is staying put.

Lets hope the rest of us are imminent...
xxxxx

alicet · 14/10/2007 13:52

Sorry you've had a rough time ess. But no more than a week to go at least!!

Anyone heard from inzi? She's usually here even more than me so absence is likely to be significant....

Muppet - glad your bf sorted you out! And agree rugby was fab!

Thinking of you all with crossed fingers and toes!

nellieloula · 14/10/2007 16:52

Hi everyone - ess, hope you and everyone else is ok. I'm shattered but counting the days before all these rubbish symptoms evaporate - only 5 to go from tomorrow! Getting scarily real now. hope everyone has a good night.

muppetgirl · 14/10/2007 18:06

Hi all,

Had a really good day as Ollie + dh went fro Ollie's swimming lesson whilst I read the papers... He was sooo good and can now swim on his back and doggie paddle a width. Proud mummy moment again whilst watching him.

Went to outlet centre adn bought a couple of xmas pressies for the christmas box in the spare room. Made Henry's crib up with one of the blankets I have been making and are very proud of myself even if I do say so myself

Dh did one of his roasts -I'd marry him again just to have those and now Ollie is watching thunderbirds whilst dh has gone to play tennis.

Even dh said this had been a nearly perfect sunday...
(When I asked him what would make it perfect he replied 'a bit of jiggy later' to which I said 'absolutely no way!!)

Wonder who'll pop next??
Speak later
x

ejt1764 · 14/10/2007 18:42

lol muppetgirl!

My catch-phrase with dh at the moment is "don't get any ideas" ... sort of joking ... having said that, as having a poo is still quite a traumatic experience, sex is probably out of the question for a few weeks yet!

Am too knackered to even consider alternatives! (as is dh btw!)

muppetgirl · 14/10/2007 18:49

Hi ejt
glad to hear husband's fully recovered then!!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 14/10/2007 20:49

mrs fish - i know exactly what you mean about losing weight!!! i weighed myself when i got home from hospital and couldnt believe i had only lost 10 lbs!!! Marcy was 8 lb 9 1/2 oz and like you say wirh the placennta and waters etc, i would have expected to have lost well over a stone!! not fair is it!!

marcy decided to do a big projectile vomit all over me and herself and the bedclothes at 3.30 am last night! grreat!!! and she hadnt really settled before then either! dh and i have a rota system planned for tonight!! will have to see how it works out! she ahs done nothing but sleep all day though, so im not expecting a great night with her tonight!!

ess - i know how you feel and you have my sympathy! i was 10 days over and getting more and more frustrated by the day, but now that she is here that is all forgotten!! you will have your lo before you know it!!

oh muppett you big meanie!!! go on give your dh what he wants!!

inzi??? are you having your baby?!!!

ess · 14/10/2007 22:30

Thanks Greedy- you know more than anyone how I feel! Was all the more frustrating for having to go into hospital and then come home again.
I've just remembered that my osteopath does acupuncture so think I'll give her a call tomorrow and see if she can do anything for me.
Glad you and Marcy are doing well and hope you have a good night.

ChocolateHobnob · 15/10/2007 06:34

Hi all

Ess - willing lo to come today! You're right, Friday at the latest, but hopefully lo will come sooner for you.

Muppet - hi! How are you doing? You sound much better than during the week. When is your next consultant apptment?

Inzi???? I think her text buddy was J20 who might well be snowed under at the mo. Wishing you luck, Inzi, anyway!

Unicorn, we passed a fair on Sat, one of those stomach churning travelling ones with rides that go upside down and don't look at all safe. Just imagining myself on there made me feel sick. Bet it would have shifted lo though!

Greedy, Alicet, Katsch, good to hear news of you and babies!

I had a lovely time yesterday seeing our friends and their little boys. Crap night's sleep though and am tired way before I go to work today, woe. Never mind - am just tidying up odds and ends this week so it isn't exactly arduous.

Take care all and thinking of you particularly Ess and Inzi!

muppetgirl · 15/10/2007 08:37

HI all

Chocolate -I have my consultants app on wed and I am going to be brave!!! I'm writing my questions out and queiries that I need answers too. Such as what happens at 40 weeks as I was promised at the begining I wouldn't go over my dates??

I started a thread about 'can you be too far gone to have an epidural?' and it seems that there is no medical rule but it does depend on whoever is your m/w consultant at the time. The thing I find hard is that there is a lot of opinion in maternity and this isn't necessarily always based on fact. I can't help thinking they all have their own agendas of targets and budgets etc. I know I'm cynical but I can't help it!

Ess- I am sending you lots of 'get this baby out of me' vibes and hope that your lo arrives before fri but at least you know it is going to happen soon. Bet this week drags though....

Inzi - Where are you???? I hope all is well as you were having pains throughout the night the last I heard from you. Wishing you luck whatever and can't wait to hear from you

j20baby · 15/10/2007 09:36

hi all

tried to post on Sat but my internet went down, i'll text inzi soon and let you know how she is.

had a bit of a nightmare fri, GP sent me straight to hospital with Shannon going blue, they can't find any problems so think she was just holding her breath.

she's having a growth spurt at the moment so is feeding constantly, my b00bs areen't filling up in time, so she's screamed all night, sorry to not reply to everyone personally, Again, will try and get on properly at some point, just not enough hours in the day, don't know how you're all managing!

love to all x x x

inzi-glad your still around honey, means i don't have to get up to get my phone

sorry your having a hard time you poor thing not long now.
i was going to say rest as much as possible, but i went swimming and had a couple of Gin slings the day before Shannon was born if you feel up to the kind of thing, may help to get things going, and swimming is quite relaxing.

sending you big hugs and milky kisses from Shannon

muppetgirl · 15/10/2007 10:11

J20 - Inzi
SO glad you're both okay!!!

Inzi my pains are only at night and even then it's due to overactive braxtons I'm sure but I can empathise with the hubbie doing everything. Mine has to take the washing down for me as I'm worried about the stairs as I can;t see my feet, I can;t walk the dods together anymore as our black lab is good but quite strong. I do feel absolutely useless but the end is nigh......

Sorry to hear about Shannon J20 that must be extremly worrying especially as there doesn;t seem to be a reason. I bet it's making you extra tired as you'll stress about her even when she seems fine...

Hi All
sympathy to those who are feeling fed up...all my frustration over the last 2 weeks was targeted at being stuck in hospital and guilt at dh having to cope with house, dog and visiting (driving 150 miles per day to fit everything in!)....
Weight wise I lost 1 st 6lb after giving birth...but I'm still 8lb heavier than I was last christmas ...what is worse, when I get this 8lb off, I've still got 2.5 stones to lose to get back to pre ttc weight!!!!.
Hope you are all ok and look forward to hearing of more arrivals

Dalrymps · 15/10/2007 11:34

Hey everyone, for those of you who are feeling fed up, i hope you feel a bit better soon, sounds like i'm not suffering too much at the moment, my bump isn't that big even though i'm due tomorrow so i can still walk the dog and do some things, although dh does a lot cause he's so lovely
It's our 2nd wedding anniversary today, had a busy day yesterday so just relaxing today, might go for lunch.
I even slept pretty well lat night, only got up for a wee twice which is a record, of course now i've said that i'll probably sleep terrible tonight!
No definate signs that the lo's arrival is imminent just occasional tummy ache, i know it's not my due date until tomorrow but i just know i'll go over then i'll start to get really impatient! I really want to aviod being induced!
Anyway hope everyone has a nice day, speak soon

gemmamc · 15/10/2007 11:41

Hi everyone,
I just thought I would write as I am regularly checking this thread but don't often manage to write - I don't want people to think I've disappeared or I am not interested any more. In fact, I am so happy to hear that so many of you have had your babies now. Congratulations! Sorry some others are frustrated with the wait. I am too!

I am 39 weeks tomorrow and getting seriously fed up. My list of complaints is getting longer: insomnia, SPD (not in a very severe form but it's still making me housebound), anaemia, swollen feet hands and face (but normal blood pressure so apparently they are not too worried for me but I can't stop worrying anyway...that's just me I guess....) and I have absolutely no energy to do anything any more.

All I want to do is be in bed most of the time. I've been on an active birth yoga course for a few months (last session is this week) but I just think there is no way I can have an "active birth" i.e. moving around a lot during labour. I can hardly move around now!! I just hope I have some energy left to get the baby out, really.

When I hear about people going swimming (someone from my yoga class was even cycling around London at this point in the pregnancy) at this point I am just very, very envious! I can hardly manage to move around the house, let alone do any physical activity.

Anyway, I just wanted to let everybody know that apart from being frustrated, I am relatively fine. Please don't worry if I appear and disappear. I don't have a text buddy - I think that's what you call them - so it's also possible it will take me a bit to let you know I've had the baby when eventually it happens. But I am thinking about all of you and hoping everybody who is still waiting will finally get to meet their babies soon and everything will be well.

Sorry about the me, me, me post. But I thought it would be fair to let you know I care, and I am keeping in touch - and intend to continue with the post natal thread - although only posting sporadically.

alicet · 15/10/2007 11:57

Hello ladies,

Sorry to hear you're all feeling huge and uncomfortable. Remember it well with NO fond memories at all. Thinking of you as I know how hard it is in the last few weeks and how much harder it must be not knowing how long its going to last...

Choc - presume its your last week at work? Hope to catch you for a coffee once you're off.

Inzi - sorry you're feeling so crap. Others too but you seem to have had it particularly tough last few weeks.... Big hug.

Gemma - if you want to mail me your number I am happy to post any news from you - you can get me on alicetownend at doctors dot org dot uk.

Can't remember who was talking about swimming - actually its not as arduous as you think as the water supports your weight. I found it really relaxing - may be worth a try even those who feel awful?
