@ShiningStarz good luck- hopefully!
I'll add that one to my research list👍
Thanks

ShiningStarz · 09/07/2020 22:33

@Sara7455 how are you and baby Wren doing?

ShiningStarz · 09/07/2020 22:51

Omg my belly has been moving for the last 30 minutes!! It's a tickly and very strange feeling !! Can't believe there is a little person wriggling away in there 😱

Lazydaisydaydream · 09/07/2020 23:00

Had my 32 week scan today, baby measuring about 4lbs 3ozand is lying horizontally, which explains why I'm feeling so much movement out to the sides!! Was so weird seeing the baby move on the scan at the same time as being able to feel it.

Emmy2020 · 09/07/2020 23:50

@Laura1348 I bought the Ewan Deluxe, had a try of it and it seems pretty good, hopefully it will work well 😊

ChipsAreLife · 10/07/2020 05:41

My five year old's favourite toy and comforter a
Is Ewan 💕. He did have an operation a few years ago though to remove the sound so we could wash him in the machine 🤣🤣🤣 my second dd never took to him in the same way but still sleeps with him! I'll likely get another one this time round.

@Laura1348 slings are minefield! So many to choose from. I would go for one that's relatively easy to do up, but they're all much of a muchness I think. I'm planning on looking next week ordering one. Will let you know what I choose!

I've not been feeling great this week. Been sick again, getting a cold (how?!) and loads of braxton hicks. Getting loads of lightening crotch too. But 8 weeks today I meet my baby!! I keep feeling it may come early for some reason, unlike the other two who would have stayed in for years given the chance 🤣

Here's hoping things are getting better for hospital apps! I'm staring to feel slightly pissed off that I can now go on a plane, get my nails done, go to primark but people can't have partners in apps, all labour or afterwards. My experience of post natal ward is that midwives just don't have time to help and having DH there was a huge support. I just hope he's either allowed by then or midwifes help more.

My sister in law swears by Ewan for her daughter. We’ve got the snuz cloud though as it came included with the snuzpod (which I finally built this week and love!).

@ShiningStarz he’s good thank you. Up to 3lbs now and hopefully moving from incubator to heated cot in the next few days 🤞🤞

@ChipsAreLife hospitals remain different for everyone but they are starting to relax policies in my area. One of the hospitals I’ve been in had partners allowed in postnatal For visits 1-5 In the afternoon (wearing a mask of course) and the other is allowing an hour a day for visiting now. By September I imagine they’ll be even more relaxed for you all!

sianyflewog · 10/07/2020 06:43

@laura1348 I mean he probably didn’t need it to age 3, and it has more to do with my reluctance to see him grow up than anything else 😂 But it was just part of our routine at bed time to switch the bear on!

sianyflewog · 10/07/2020 06:46

Oh worth mentioning as @ChipsAreLife said that the sound box is wired in the original Ewan. It’s removable in the MyHummy bear so the bear can go in the wash, and I think it’s removable from Ewan deluxe now too?

Chanel05 · 10/07/2020 06:48

@sianyflewog my baby was frank breech as 28 weeks and I had a scan last night at 30+2 and she's now head down. Fingers crossed your baby is on the move soon!

ShiningStarz · 10/07/2020 07:17

@Chanel05 that's great!! I'm hoping by my next scan little one is head down too 🤞🤞

Sep20baby · 10/07/2020 07:28

Hey, happy Friday how are you all? I’m getting more tired towards the end of each week now and can’t wait to finish work. I booked a week off before my due date so working up until one week before! I counted 9 weeks left it’s all going so quickly. This is a bit random but at my 28 week check last week midwife said baby measuring big and on my notes said 30cm height. But on the NHS website says baby should be 37/38cm by now so I’m slightly confused what she means. I did question but she said nothing to be concerned about and they’ll know at my 36 week scan more. It was my first face to face app. My boss is 25 weeks and we similar body size her bump is bigger than mine but she’s been told her baby fine in size. Xx

ShiningStarz · 10/07/2020 07:37

If you are looking for a changing station - I bought this a couple months ago for £99 and now it's down to £69 in the Argos clearance sale!! Out of stock in my area now.

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 10/07/2020 07:38

Think your bump is supposed to roughly measure the number of weeks you are eg 28 Cm at 28 weeks, but they tend to give plus or minus 2 as the margin of normal measurement so 30 would be normal but they may keep an eye on growth if that helps

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 10/07/2020 07:40

I’m also really hoping that visiting protocols might not be so strict when our time comes as I also remember that first time around if you have to stay overnight (I was in 4) the midwives are lovely but don’t really have any time to help you with practicalities and after c section I couldn’t really get up / pick the baby up so my husband and MIL were a lifeline for that!!

ShiningStarz · 10/07/2020 07:42

That's great to hear @Sara7455 💙 I hope you are ok too xx

MooseWL · 10/07/2020 08:17

@shiningstarz I don't think I'll ever not be amazed by the movements. Mine are definitely getting so much stronger and more frequent. They're all at the bottom and the sides at the moment though 🤔
Glad Wren is doing well @sara7455 my hospital (Derby) has announced the same for 1h visiting slots on the postnatal ward, so hopefully by September it will be even more relaxed.
I have my 28 week midwife appointment today (at 29 weeks!) think they said they'd be taking bloods today. Interested to see how my bump is measuring as at my 26 week appt he was measuring exactly 26 weeks but I feel like the bump has grown really quickly since then. (as in at 26 weeks I didn't even look pregnant but now I defo do!)

Has anyone got a swiss ball for bouncing on yet? Think I'm going to order one this weekend. Also is anyone going to brave the hairdressers whilst pregnant? I don't really want to but I've not had my hair cut since October and it's wild (thanks pregnancy hormones for making it even thicker than usual too) and I can't imagine I'll want to get it cut when I've got a newborn either!

ShiningStarz · 10/07/2020 08:27

@MooseWL I agree every swish, roll and kick is just amazing!!
I had my hair cut in March, it does need done but I'm going to get a pre Christmas cut instead. Wear a mask and enjoy being pampered 💇‍♀️
Enjoy your appt today. The growth spurts start soon!! I can wait to go back in 2 weeks and see how much little one has grown, it's so real now, a bit scary but very exciting all at the same time!! Starting to think about washing some bits and pieces!! Need to get storage boxes with lids to keep baby stuff in 💜

ChipsAreLife · 10/07/2020 08:31

@Sara7455 that's brilliant news! What a big step for you. Sounds like he's gaining weight well too 💪

@sianyflewog that is really good to know! I bought the deluxe ones for my niece and nephew but didn't realise you could take it out! Game changer!!

@Sep20baby yeah as @MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee says it's about the day in cm as you are weeks give a take a couple either size. So you're a little on the bigger size but nothing to worry about. I find mine have always gone up and down.

@MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee exactly how I feel. Both times I've not been well and I don't know how I'll manage a baby on my own especially straight after when spinal is still working. My trust has opened up an hour per day but not at weekends... I'm due to have baby on Friday so if I do stay in over weekend I'm on my own. The reason being is they don't have enough midwifes on at weekend to manage visitors. Doesn't fill me with confidence I'll get help from them 😔 I'm not normally anxious but I am a bit worried about it as time gets closer.

@MooseWL yes I'm getting mine done on 27 July! I can't wait. Haven't been since Nov as had awful morning sickness till March and then obviously couldn't go! My hairdresser has really reassured me it's measures. And yes, it's really hard going to get a haircut with a baby, especially if you breastfed!!!

Laura1348 · 10/07/2020 08:42

@Sara7455 glad to hear Wren is doing well and that Ewan May be a good idea.
@Emmy2020 I've heard good things about him so I may invest.
@ChipsAreLife I can't believe how many there are. I asked on my antenatal wassap group and there was a lot about making sure the baby has 'froggy legs' especially if in it fir a long time. They recommended stretchy or a caboo- I had looked at a caboo as I don't think I can do all the tying and husband liked the look if it too.
I agree with you with all the changes- can go
On holiday but not have my husband hold
My hand in a scan 😡
@MooseWL I got a birthing ball from amazon last week- really sturdy and comfy. I got it more to sit comfortably for my back rather than moving but I'm sure it will help.
Midwife told me haircut was my choice - all with PPE so should be fine but avoid pub etc. I think I'm going to give it a miss- I've gone this far I'd kick myself now.
@sianyflewog 🙈🙈

Lilice · 10/07/2020 08:46

That's great news @Sara7455 so glad to hear Wren is going well
@Chanel05 did you manage to get good pictures this time? I have my 4d scan tomorrow, i can't wait! I just hope I don't see the sex by accident 🙈 did you need a full bladder?
I have started doing my hospital bag 😱 seeing i cant do anything anymore with the nursery until i receive the furniture. I'm going on a boat trip next week, and after that I'll start washing the baby's clothes etc and packs her/his bag. I'm due end of September so still have loads of time but im getting too excited now 😁

Lilice · 10/07/2020 08:53

Reading all this, I want to get ewan the sheep too now 🤣🤣🤣 but I really like the look of the snuzcloud. How many type of sounds does ewan make?

Oliviajane1 · 10/07/2020 09:47

Hi everyone 💓💓💓

ShiningStarz · 10/07/2020 09:54

I'v had 4d scans from the start just as part of ordinary scan. Couldn't see much to be honest!! The one last week I could make out the face, eyes, nose and mouth and it was very odd but kinda cute at the same time!! A reminder that it's all very real 🙈

sianyflewog · 10/07/2020 10:15

@Lilice Ewan has 5 sounds - shush, vacuum cleaner, rainfall, harp melody and a recording of the womb. It is very relaxing, I used to use it to nap myself 😂 What I didn’t realise was that the sensor is only on for 4 hours - our MyHummy lasts for 12. Suppose it’s not so much of a problem for babies needing a night feed as you can just reset after feed.
I also had a 4D scan yesterday and couldn’t see gender, even though everything was fully on display (she switched to 2D to show me that it was still a girl 😂) - I think just let them know before hand that you don’t want to know and they’ll keep to the top half!

@ChipsAreLife I assume it’s removable now - the sheep is certainly washable (ours looked pretty manky!)

@ShiningStarz @Chanel05 I’m hoping she’ll move but more for comfort than anything else. It doesn’t really make much difference in terms of delivery as I’m having a section anyway, but I do wonder if her head is the biggest cause of my dreadful heartburn xx
