I got BFP this morning six months to the day after my MC, only 12DPO but so happy. Please pray this one holds on!!!! I am due on June 1 according to OV calendars so have the pleasure of starting this thread.

Anyone else out there or am I the only mental person who tests this early?

Good news Lazylou!

BSL- your doctor sounds awesome. I'm having a scan of Friday too- will keep everything crossed for us both!

babyalfie · 24/10/2007 13:15

GMAKES3 - so sorry of your bad news.. I am hgoing for a scan in the morning as I am 6.5 weeks pregnant but when I had an early scan 2 weeks agao all they could see is the egg sack and o bean.
I feel sick and are so tired so not sure whats going on down there. I have had a brownish discharge on and off for the past week and a couple of weeks agao i bkled red blood.
I have told my daughters now I am pregnant as they wanted to know why I was so sick lol. They are 14 and 16.

Oh on another note my daughter went shopping to Leeds on Saturday- the 14 year old one and she came back with a bath spa treatment and some scratch mitts... what a sweetie I thought but I hate having anything in the houise as it is very very early days.

I am sorry do not get on here very much lately as have been feeling terrible.... perhaps it is my age (37-next week). I just feel so sick and tired. I cold sleep for ever.

I do read all threads and wish everybody else luck and hugs!

HeyBaby07 · 24/10/2007 15:32

Really sorry Gmakes3

Thinking of you BSL, great news about a scan so soon, try to relax as much as you can

China Surprise - hang in there with DH it just sounds like shock, which is understandable but really annoying when this is when you need him most. My DH went really weird last week when I got my BFP and we have actually been ttc but only since july - starting saying he hoped I didn't get all precious just because I'm pregnant! could have slapped him. Thanks for the book link - going to investigate it - anyone else have other recommended reading for DH's?

Gracie14 - that's so exciting, know exactly how you feel! I keep laughing to myself in public and it's getting embarrassing

Lazylou - hope things are calmer at home now for you

HeyBaby07 · 24/10/2007 15:34

btw - parents have decided to come in early august - 5 weeks after EDD which is great, perhaps a bit premature on their part, but I like their optimism!

Gracie14 · 24/10/2007 16:37

HeyBaby - Your right I haven't stopped smiling today, at the petrol station I think some bloke thought I had escaped from hospital he kept giving me strange looks!!

Proberbly a silly question but what happens now? I take it I don't go to the doctors yet when do I need to do that if all stays okay?

HeyBaby07 · 24/10/2007 17:03

I went to the DR yesterday and was so disappointed, all she did was ask if I'd done a test at home - like duh!! no confirming test or anything, (guess i wanted to hear a DR say 'YOU, MADAM ARE UP THE DUFF 100%!!) told me what not to eat etc and said she'd send a letter to the hospital but I have no idea what now either! I assume I would have a 12 week scan as the next thing if we get that far - ladies, can you help the newbies? what now?

QueenofBleach · 24/10/2007 17:06

Is there a community midwife linked with your Doctors as we have one and that is who I am seeing next week not Doctor, if not go back and ask to be put in touch with one as they will monitor your pregnancy, organise any blood tests etc.

mrsclairet · 24/10/2007 17:26

Heybaby07 I had exactly the same when I went to the doctors yesterday. I was in there for about 2 minutes and I eft feeling really confused about what happens next. I was told I need to book in for my 1st antenatal appointment and I need to fill in some paperwork which I could do today but then when I went to the desk she asked me if 4 weeks was too long, I said no, she said I didn't need to fill in any paperwork yet and I walked out thinking what do I do now? I think I will have to phone back and ask!!!

dylansluckymum · 24/10/2007 17:32

hey baby it might be different in different areas but usually your gp gets the ball rolling and in a week or two you'll get a letter with the date for your 12 week scan and the community midwives (if that's what you have) will set up an appointment for 9 or 10 weeks.

i bought ds a newborn baby boy doll to teach him what a baby is, it arrived this morning and it is quite honestly the cutest thing i have ever seen - he was kissing it, cuddling it, feeding it from the little bottle that came with it. it's amazing how instinctive it is! i only started telling him what a baby was on the telly 2 days ago! i was finding it very difficult to not bawl my eyes out!

babyalfie the story about your dd bringing you home the present brought tears to my eyes too!

gmakes3 i truly hope you don't suffer too much and have lots of good support, and pray that next time is the one that is meant to be. {{big hugs}}

august26bride · 24/10/2007 17:46

Gmakes3 really sorry to hear your news. Hope you are being looked after.

Mossy · 24/10/2007 18:30

Ladies, sorry to interrupt... if any of you are in Merseyside and thinking about breastfeeding, please click here

imopop · 24/10/2007 19:07

Gmakes3-so sorryxxx
BSL-best of luck
I feel very nervous have an early 6 week scan tomorrow due to 6 previous m/c. Have had a lower back pain today which moves to the front. I am panicking that things are going wrong again.

QueenofBleach · 24/10/2007 19:10

Gmakes3
Imopop goodluck for tomorrow, fingers crossed.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 24/10/2007 19:19

Oh help me out ladies.....long story but I set something up on the childminder section of mumsnet and it's taken off and now I got myself in a mess with a BBC news reporter coming tomorrow at 10am. I'm dead nervous and although I told them about my situation and they reassured me, I think it's too much. Do you think it would be safer to cancel??? Feel sick (not pg sick).

Gracie14 · 24/10/2007 19:28

Heybaby/mrsclariet - Yeah I had heard that doctors don't really do much - might wait until next week I'm still only 4+4 so proberbly too early to really be thinking about the docs yet.

dylansmum - Ah that sounds so sweet, thats great getting him in practice for the real thing. Thanks for the info on docs/midwife - haven't a clue really!

imopop - Hope everything goes okay tomorrow, let us know how you get on - So sorry you have had so much heartache keeping positive thoughts for your little bubba.

ChinaSurprise · 24/10/2007 19:31

GMakes3 - so sorry to hear your sad news. WIsh there was something I could do.

HeyBaby07 - thanks for the thoughts re DH - I know he will get there in the end. (I'm not one to roll my eyes and go "men" but, well, ) The book is v good I think - the guy in Waterstones said they sell loads.

Gracie14/ mrsclairet - re dr practically puahing you out of the surgery - I had the same experience - I was expecting a big fuss and the lack of interest caught me off guard so I also forgot loads of questions I'd wanted to ask.
Really you should have a pre-booking appt at 6 to 9 weeks (when you'll give basic details and they'll work out what level of care you need - this may be a group appt) and a booking appt at 10 to 14 weeks (when they take your blood, urine etc), both with midwives. Ask about community midwives at your GP and get an appt asap as there are staffing shortages in lots of places - I rang ours myself, but some GPs will do it for you, it seems to vary. It's important to get in early as some tests can only be done early if they spot something is awry.
With many areas short-staffed and under pressure you can get swept aside if you're not careful and end up not seeing your midwife as often as you should - they don't mean to do it, they are often just really busy/ overworked/ underpaid, ifkwim. Make your presence felt!

BSL - That sounds interesting, if you feel that you should cancel then maybe its best - you don't really need to be stressed out anymore than you have to be
