I got BFP this morning six months to the day after my MC, only 12DPO but so happy. Please pray this one holds on!!!! I am due on June 1 according to OV calendars so have the pleasure of starting this thread.

Anyone else out there or am I the only mental person who tests this early?

Hi nh101andhertwinbeans!

Yesterday was actually my second scan, I had one 10 days ago and that's when they first saw the cyst and that's why I had a scan yesterday to see if it was still there. The first time it didn't hurt at all, but yesterday it was painfull but the doctor said not to worry unless the pain is really bad!? I mean it's bearable, but when I touch it is sore. It measures 35x38x32mm, and it's got a solid inside of it 10mm, don't know what that means.
So I'm having another scan in 4 or 5 weeks, and that will be the 12 weeks scan actually, so hopefully it will disapear by then!
Is it your first? Guessing you're having twins??

nh101andhertwinbeans · 16/10/2007 16:24

Yes! I just found out yesterday. I have been on Clomid so we knew the risk of twins was higher - still a bit of a shock though. But we were just glad there was at least one in there!

If you have any concerns, ring the doc about the cyst. The scanner woman told me if I had any strong pain to ring her. It can't hurt to ring and ask can it.

Lucy0608 · 16/10/2007 16:29

Congratulations anyway!!

Yes you're right, I might have a bath tonight and see how it feels then.

We've already picked names too! I know it's early, but just can't help it. Jack for a boy and Amelie (or Amelia) for a girl.

My partners sister's just had a baby girl 2 weeks ago, and since seeing her I just can't stop thinking about mine!

goingfor3 · 16/10/2007 16:47

Lucy0608 I had a cyst when I was pregnant with dd1. They are very common and it looked huge compared to the baby but I assume it disapeared because it wasn't mentioned at the 12 week scan. I really like the name Amelia too and it goes very well with my others girls names. Oh and congratulations!!!!

Lucy0608 · 16/10/2007 16:56

Hi Goingfor3,

Thanks, Yes it does sound common, that's good!

So you're expecting your third??

I don't think I'm familiar with all these shortcuts yet, like dd1, ds2 ....?

I always wanted to call my daughter that, it was my nan, her name was Emilie, and she died when I was quite young, and always liked her name, but I have to change the spelling slightly as people might think it's Emily, but really it's pronounced as Amelia.

This site is great, I'm glad I found it! Now I can share my feelings and all that with other mums to be!

xx

goingfor3 · 16/10/2007 16:58

Yes third eek! I also love the name Elodie but people would probably always call her Melody which would really irritate.

goingfor3 · 16/10/2007 16:59

DD1 = first darling daughter
DS2 = second darling son

Lucy0608 · 16/10/2007 17:03

That's quite nice, I do like proper names though and my sister in law still doesn't know what to call her little girl as she thought she was having a boy , but she is thinking about Summer, I don't like that personaly, it's like what are you gonna call the next child, you know? But maybe I should mention that her DH (hope I got that right) is a Chelsea fan!

goingfor3 · 16/10/2007 17:09

I must admit dd2 didn't have a name for a few days as I was convinced she was a boy and was called Oscar in my mind. I had picked Matilda despite veryone around me hating it because I really didn't think I would actually use it but it really didn't suit her. I'm not too keen on Summer and like proper names too. I think Elodie is French as one of dd's nursery friends who is French has that name and it sounds so beautiful when her mums says it but probably doesn't sound so good when I do.

flosspot · 16/10/2007 17:12

Oh NH- that is the best news ever.....am naturally envious of your two/three beans- you obviously got all the Clomid luck!

And on the plus side, if you've never had kids before, twins will only seem normal. It's those who had single and then multiple births that often find it harder to adjust.

Well done you and MR NH, and love to beanies!

Har · 16/10/2007 17:15

nh101 - WOW! Congratulations!!! Think twins are a bit tricky at the start but everyone I've talked to who has them (quite a few!) just adore having twins. Particularly when they start communicating/playing with each other (gives you a nice break!) Twins are so adorable with each other! But I can imagine it's a bit of a shock! A friend of a friend had triplets last year, no Clomid, no IVF, no multiple births in the family . Anyway congratulations again for the wonderful news!

Oh and goingfor3, Elodie is a lovely name, where's it from?

Lucy0608 · 16/10/2007 17:17

Aah, I love Matilda!

But Elodie sounds like a really nice and elegant name! Really like it!

So how are you feeling? My breasts are killing me!

Had a go at adding myself to the list:

welcome and congratulations Lucy

NH101 - CONGRATULATIONS . How exciting is that? I see from your profile you're in Merseyside - me too. Which hospital are you going to?

nh101andhertwinbeans · 16/10/2007 17:35

I'll be going to Ormskirk, I live in Formby. What about you?

Lucy0608 · 16/10/2007 17:37

Thank you Rolf!

Congratulations to you too! xx

Lulumama · 16/10/2007 17:40

NH101. i am in ormskirk the last tuesday of every month for a meeting... i get free car parking

rolf & NH, may i draw your attention to the southport meet up we are having....
here~!

flosspot · 16/10/2007 18:21

I love Elodie- it's on my list with Orelie, Romilly and Cecily (see where I am going with this???)

Rolf · 16/10/2007 19:16

nh101 - you live very close to me. I'm 3 stops down the line! How exciting. I'll probably be at LWH though as I have a consultant I really like there. I had my DD there. Or if I go to Ormskirk it would be at the last minute for delivery, with ante natal care at LWH. I hope it isn't tempting fate, making all these plans.

(Lulu - tis MrsDarcy in disguise after singing Two Little Boys ).

I don't feel pregnant at all today but my boobs have grown to watermelon proportions. Very uncomfortable. I took DD swimming today and the water was lovely and soothing.

Lulumama · 16/10/2007 19:34

gotcha rolf !!

Rolf · 16/10/2007 19:35

Will go onto the meet-up thread now...

imopop · 16/10/2007 19:37

Hi-can I join in.Congrats to all with BFP. I have just found out I am pregnant after 6 miscarriages. Last one in June. I am going for a 6 week scan next week. Very nervous and every little thing I am worrying about. Have a clotting problem where I have to take aspirin-anyone else in a similar situation?
I wish everyone lots of luckxxx

Rolf · 16/10/2007 20:34

Congrats imopop. I'm sorry about all those miscarriages. How awful for you.

I take low-dose aspirin and high-dose folic acid. Aspirin because I had a late m/c for which there was some indication of placental problems. Folic acid because of something about the way I metabolise folates.

What is the blood-clotting problem you suffer from (if you don't mind me asking). When I was having lots of tests I read up on it all and was tested for everything under the sun.

Lilypink - I'm not on the list at all (my choice) - too scary to see it there in black and white!

Har · 16/10/2007 20:44

What lovely names everyone! My favourite doll when I was little was called Matilda-Lill, I love Matilda!

Imopop - what a horrible time you've had. Really holding my fingers crossed for you. Am so nervous too, longing for my first scan so I check everything's ok. I'm praying and praying!
