Hello - Just haveing a browse round MN as have just gone on Mat leave and now have the time

Har - you caught my eye as I had pains like that early on and was very worried. According the doc it's the ovary going mental producing hormones until everthing is properly implanted and the plancenta kicks in. No one tells you how early the aches and pains can start.

Good luck

Mich10 go along and tip out your drinks when no one is looking, chances are they won't notice as they will be so drunk by the sounds of it! What do you drink? If it something with a mixer then make sure you buy your own without the alcohol.

Mich10 · 16/10/2007 12:15

Hi Goingfor3,

I was considering the old "Gin & Tonic" hold the Gin approach but with the engagement I know the champagne will be flowing & obviously on the table. My friend who now has a 7 month old baby girl couldn't go to the toilet without us speculating, before she came clean and I was really tiring of the rubbish "I just can't, I had such a big night last night" excuses. Don't I wish I had just been nice now I find myself there!

nh101 · 16/10/2007 12:20

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is good.

G43 thanks for remembering my scan!

Kif · 16/10/2007 12:28

nhn 101 - v

Mich10 · 16/10/2007 12:29

nh101

Twins! Fabulous news. Are you slightly shell shocked or just jumping for joy?

goingfor3 · 16/10/2007 12:29

lol nh101!!!!!!! You did think you were having twins! Fantastic news

Kif · 16/10/2007 12:33

deb - I'm going to get proper nice maternity wear this time. The last two times I've got a few cheap pieces from Mothercare - then worn them to shreds. They get so much more wear than normal clothes (esp if you go and keep getting preganant - ahem), that I think it is worth getting ones you feel good in.

NH101 !!!!!!!

What fantastic news!

how many weeks along are you? that is just going to keep me smiling all day long!

TwilightSurfer · 16/10/2007 13:06

NH101 HOW COOL!!! Please share all your details.

Mich10 just be honest. That's what I would want if one of my friends were in your boat. MCs are horrible but no reason to hide the truth. Embrace the facts, the past and present, and believe your friends will be there NO MATTER WHAT, WITHOUT JUDGEMENT. Plus, it might get ackward if the friend who's engaged asked you to be involved in some extra special way with the wedding but it was something there was no way you could do because of the pregnancy. Go have fun and toss the worry off the nearest bridge.

Josey I'm so jealous of your morning sickness. I'm still not ill but have a feeling it will happen any day now.

nh101andhertwinbeans · 16/10/2007 13:11

I was 7 weeks yesterday. The babies measured 7+2 and 7+3. I know my dates exactly cos I was taking my temperatures so it is nice to know they are thriving.

She took ages to do the scan, it was so nerve wracking! It was an internal and she said beforehand that she wouldn't say anything during the scan and that it would take her a couple of minutes to get all the info she needed.

But I thought 'well as soon as she sees a heartbeat she will say' but she didn't. It took about five minutes and I was sure she hadn't found anything. She was poking the thing around and I thought 'She can't find anything!'

Then she finished and turned the screen round and said

"It's a healthy twin pregnancy"

I heard "healthy" and felt so relieved

Then I hears "twin" and went, "WHAT!!!!!!"

It turns out she was having a good look to see if she could find another one (and she says she can't be 100% sure there are not more than two!)

I have a cyst on my ovary (probably due to the Clomid) so I am going back in three weeks to make sure it has gone.

We are shell shocked and quite scared but we have no other kids so we don't know what we are letting ourselves in for!

goingfor3 · 16/10/2007 13:16

nh101andhertwinbeans love the new name. I think having twins will of course be hard work but very rewarding, I'm so excited for you. I met a women when I was in hospital with dd1 and at her first scan she was told she was having twins then at her second scan they found a third baby she had teeny tiny triplet girls.

nh101andhertwinbeans · 16/10/2007 13:19

No!!!!!!!!

TwilightSurfer · 16/10/2007 13:20

nh101andhertwinbeans such a wonderful story. Don't worry about the number of kids as you'll make it just fine. I'm a bit jealous as I was kinda hoping for twins this round. SO COOL FOR YOU!!!

Oh Josey so glad you're not sick yet. Makes me feel more normal. I just know it's going to start any day. DH informed me that my FIL will be visiting this weekend. Spent last night scrubing every last corner of my kitchen because they'll probably be left to fend for themselves in there this weekend.

Lucy0608 · 16/10/2007 16:00

Hi All!

I am expecting my first baby, sooo excited!

Had a scan yesterday and saw the baby and the heartbeat, that was just amazing, thought I was gonna cry!

The baby is 7.4mm and I am 6 weeks + 3. But I think it's a bit more.

But the doctor's found a big cyst on my right ovary, and it's really painfull! Anyone else had it???

XX

nh101andhertwinbeans · 16/10/2007 16:08

Hi Lucy! I had my scan yesterday too, I am 7+1 and they found a cyst on my right ovary. It is not causing me any pain and they have booked me in for another scan in three weeks to see what has happened to it. She told me that if it was painful to ring the EPU straight away. Can you ring yours?

nh101andhertwinbeans · 16/10/2007 16:08

Thanks Lulumama - might be seeing you around Ormskirk soon?

Kif · 16/10/2007 16:13

In truth, you may see me slinking onto the May thread after my scan. I've not a clue when I'm due - not had a period yet since I conceived Ds.. err.. Feb 2006?! I reckon either late may or early june.

Are you scared at having two so close?

Lucy a cyst is normal according to the guy who scanned me with DS. Apparently it shows where the egg was released. Supposed to dissapear when you're 12-14wks pregnant or something - only a worry if it doesn;t.
