Haha you guys are the best ! made me laugh with these 🦏🐘🦛 hehe! dipping in cool water definitely a yes for me! @APD1981 a hot tub/jacuzzi in the garden that's like a dream! The day before I found I was pregnant was when I took the husband on a secret trip to Mykonos for the birthday (he didn't know where we were going ). He loves a good jacuzzi and I managed to book a hotel room with one on the balcony overlooking at the ocean. We were in the hot tub sipping champagne until the following day I had two lines on the test. 🤪🤪🤪 he still enjoyed the rest of the holiday I'm sure - I had to stay out the hot tub since !

APD1981 · 19/05/2020 17:13

@umabb it's been very frustrating having this lovely weather and very little to do and not be able to use it!
And now we've decided to replace some of the parts that were on their way out, I want to use it now more than ever. I might have a dip in it next week once in 38 weeks. Heck, it might even help being labour on! Haha.

Your holiday sounds fab! What a way to find out you're pregnant, though. X

Smiffette · 19/05/2020 17:20

A hot tub would be lovely!

I'm making the most of sitting in the sun and getting a bit of colour on my pale skin! My Midwife commented a couple of weeks ago that I was rather pale... think she was concerned my iron levels were low! But no it's just me 🙈

It's meant to be really nice for a couple of weeks! I need to get more sun cream, I found my skin was a bit more prone to going pink whilst pregnant!

newbyxx · 19/05/2020 17:32

@Smiffette I've also noticed that! I've been really applying the sun cream as seem to be burning so much easier whilst I've been pregnant. I'd love to really sit in the sun but also feel worried il get
To hot for the baby, I literally give myself things to worry about all day every day!

A friend of mine who is two weeks behind me so 35 weeks, her waters broke in a shop this morning! Crazy that it can literally happen anytime! X

Ginfilledcats · 19/05/2020 17:52

What's all this talk of sun? I vaguely remember some yellow round thing in the sky but haven't seen it for a while 😂 you all obviously don't live anywhere near me!

Finally had my last day at work today, 37 weeks! Had a dreadful day for anxiety today but doing better now! Having a celebratory (for finishing work not for getting over the anxiety haha) Indian take away tonight. Wonder if it will kick anything off!

Don't feel like I'm anywhere ready (body wise) to go into labour. Literally feel no different!! And second time or more mums, did you have an incling before things kicked off? X

AndddddHerewegoagain · 19/05/2020 18:09

@Ginfilledcats this is my second time and im as clueless as last time. Haha. With my ds i had nothing, no Braxton hicks or anything then bam! Labour hit and he appeared a few hours later.
This time I've had loads of Braxton hicks and pressure but still no baby! I've convinced myself about 20 times I'm going into labour.

I've been trying to enjoy the sunshine but spend most of the day in the shade being a responsible parent and playing sandcastles. Managed to get a little bit of colour. Looking forward to him being back at nursery, parking the baby in the shade and getting a nice tan this year!

I don't find baths comfortable anymore, but the baby loves a shower she goes nuts as soon as i get in.

I also bought a paddling pool big enough for me to dip my feet in and keep myself cool whilst the toddler goes nuts.

@APD1981 haha yeah we hadn't had good experience with pregnancy before this and it put me right in a mood. I was more scared than happy at that point even though we had been trying for long! but didn't ruin the holiday luckily !

Very hot and sunny day here (in Surrey) today and had some watermelon out fridge and baby went bonkers ! None of any other sweet + cold drink or food did this before.

HaichMal · 19/05/2020 19:06

Hi, can I join?

36 +4, due 12th June. This is my 4th, but 3rd full term (MMC). I have a 9yo and an almost 3yo, both boys and we're expecting a girl this time.

I'm sorry I've not been along for the journey to this point but hope to get to know you all now from this point forward.

I've been having my 4th HG pregnancy, and this time it has been joined with pregnancy vertigo and headaches from 8 weeks, and a sort of SPD/pelvic girdle for I don't know how many weeks, plus some back pain because she's back to back and I'mvery front heavy. All of this means my phone hasn't been used much for messaging online scrolling through things. More recently, my toddler has got into the habit of stealing it whenever I'm using it, which has made joining more difficult.

I'm having fairly frequent and often quite strong Braxton hicks, but I also had them loads with my 2nd and he didn't come until 42 weeks. I still keep getting my hopes up that she might be early, though I'm still at work until the end of this week. I'm also experiencing swollen feet and restless legs for the first time.

So yeah, hi waves

MissisBee · 19/05/2020 19:17

Welcome @HaichMal sounds like you've had a rough ride so far!
@Ginfilledcats haven't seen much of the sun here either, although it was a bit warmer today. Very muggy though.
I feel like a first-timer again now, as I was induced before. No idea what to expect!
Anyone bouncing on gym balls yet? Wondering if that might help baby stay head down

Missgemini · 19/05/2020 19:20

I've been indoors for so long. What sun? haha
Ladies, I've been feeling quite uncomfortable over the last 2 days. Yesterday was a lot of pelvic pressure. Husband had to literally help me lift my bump a few times, which really helps, by the way.
Also, birthing ball has been absolutely amazing. I don't know the science behind it, but it has really helped to relieve a lot of the discomfort.
My obgyn friend has offered to come round for a sweep :D
But I'm holding on for now!

38+0

Missgemini · 19/05/2020 19:22

@HaichMal Welcome! Sorry it's been a rubbish ride so far. But we are almost at the end :)

HaichMal · 19/05/2020 19:27

@missgemini snap! Since Sunday I've just been an uncomfortable mess! I think she's trying to get head down as it's often really hard at the top of my bump, which makes sitting uncomfortable, or there's lots of wriggling and pushing down there, lots of pressure and hicks in general, and then there's my feet, my back, the heat...I just want to sleep somewhere cool and really soft.

Pegase · 19/05/2020 19:30

Ugh so not good news at my scan today ladies. Baby is measuring above 95th percentile for weight so they want me to go back into hospital tomorrow for some tests for GD. They estimated 6lb13!! Even if 10% out, that is still ridiculous- am only 35+3!!

Scan also super uncomfortable- I kept getting cramps from lying dead flat on my back. Feeling very low

APD1981 · 19/05/2020 19:31

Is anyone else having to replace "hello" with "don't worry - I'm ok" every time they phone their DH?! Mine always panics when I call him (which isn't often as he's WFH but he's out walking now and I called him briefly) and thinks I'm in labour!

LillianFullStop · 19/05/2020 19:43

Welcome @HaichMal! Sorry you've had it so rough - not long to go.

Another one with a lot of pressure down below and BH. Baby seems to be head down right on my bladder as it's quite sore if I let it get too full so I can't be too far from a bathroom.

@MissisBee I was induced last time too so I keep reading into my symptoms!

Oh sorry @Pegase - did you do the GD at 28 weeks and is this a repeat one? I hope you get the all clear for GD.

Missgemini · 19/05/2020 19:51

@Pegase That's so rubbish! Crossing my fingers for you!x

@APD1981 haha! Not me. I'm literally at home every single second with the DH.
It's my family and friends that are the issue. My mum called at 1pm to day to check if I'm in labour as I hadn't called her this morning Grin

APD1981 · 19/05/2020 19:57

@pegase sorry you've had a rubbish day. Think of it this way though, you're at the part of your pregnancy that baby is almost ready to come so if you do have GD, it won't be for long and it might mean you get to see baby a bit sooner, too. Fingers crossed you just have a big baby and the scan is not accurate!x

Magpie21 · 19/05/2020 20:03

@HaichMal Welcome! This group is the best. Everyone is so friendly and it's so nice to compare notes :-)

@newbyxx oh wow! I bet your friend was so shocked. Hope she gets in well today.

@APD1981 Fortunately my husband and I have been working from home together, so I haven't had to call him but I would have definitely been banned from calling him for non baby related matters if we were apart!

Pegase · 19/05/2020 20:05

@LillianFullStop yes I 'passed' the GTT fine a month or so ago. They won't do GTT this time- seems to be blood tests etc when I go into MAU tomorrow.

Would be very happy to see baby early if she is cooked!

HaichMal · 19/05/2020 20:14

@Pegase I'm sorry you've had a rough day. Lying flat on my back gives me cramps/back pain too and has for a few weeks. Trying to sleep is so much fun for me at the moment. I'd try not to worry too much about the size they predict. I've heard so many stories of women being told such-and-such a size from the scan or measurements and the baby being something completely different. Also, as APD said, if they do a GD test and it's positive, then a) they will be things you can do and b) you might get to meet him or her earlier.

@LillianFullStop yep, she loves my bladder too. So uncomfortable! I have to go as soon as I stand up and then if I'm stood up for more than a few minutes, she seems to see it as a sign and presses down, which always seems to include my bladder Hmm

Rinoa · 19/05/2020 20:38

Anyone else feeling very tired these days? They said I have slightly low iron (110) and been taking iron tablets almost 2 weeks. Tbf I felt tired before the tablets but even more so now. Maybe it's all this heat plus the fact I'm on mat leave now! 37+4.

BabyBird20 · 19/05/2020 20:51

@HaichMal and @LillianFullStop I am exactly the same with the bladder! As soon as I stand up I need to wee and if I walk anywhere I do too! I swear he is using my bladder as a pillow with his giant head!

I'm super nervous tonight as have my 36 week growth scan and consultant appt tomorrow, finally get to discuss birth options. I feel unprepared for it now! 😬😬

LillianFullStop · 19/05/2020 20:59

these look accurate...

HaichMal · 19/05/2020 21:06

@Rinoa so, so tired the last few days. I've had a letter saying to call the doctor about my blood tests, which I'm assuming means I'm low in iron too, but I also remember being really tired with my toddler and my iron was fine then.

Busylizzie85 · 19/05/2020 21:10

@Rinoa I literally feel I could sleep for a week so so tired. 😴
