@LillianFullStop i asked for a c section and they said no. Thats a quick summary of what a complete arse the consultant was to me.

I've complained to PALS so just waiting for them to get back to me, the irony being i don't want a c section i just would choose that over being induced.

I went 10 days over with my son so will try everything to get this one out before or on time!

@Chels2 I was worried about movements earlier on as they were not consistent. He'd have really active days then really chill out days it would freak me out. I feel him a lot more now I think because he's bigger so I'm not so worried anymore . I'm 35 +2 . Definitely ask the midwife when you go in or even sooner if you are worried!

LillianFullStop · 03/05/2020 19:17

@Andddddherewegoagain sorry your consultant wasn't understanding of your request - they should have at least referred you to another consultant for a second opinion. Hope PALS get back to you in time.

AmyMaria2 · 03/05/2020 22:22

Hey hope everyone's doing well. I have been awful at checking in here!
I'm 35+4 today baby weighs 7lbs already, he's back to back and I've had 5+ episodes of reduced movements so they say they will let me go one-two more weeks max and then I will be induced!!🙈 I'm not sure I like the thought of being induced, I'm still deciding wether to opt for a c section.

Hope everyone's feeling okay & prepared, I know this has kicked me up the bum, need to get organised lol.
Xxx

Cornishbumpkin · 03/05/2020 22:42

How exciting though @AmyMaria2 that your little one will be here in a couple of weeks!! Is your midwife able to talk you through the decision of induction vs section?

Missgemini · 03/05/2020 23:13

@AmyMaria2 oh gosh! You'll be popping soon! 7lb is a good weight for the baby!

Ladies, I've been wondering. There was a lady having twins on this group. Can't remember her name. Always wondered where she got to.

Also, what about Twittlebee? Anyone know if she's ok?

It's all coming to an end, so I'm just thinking about the last several months and everything we've all been through together.
What an amazing experience this has been!

Zoey92 · 04/05/2020 00:10

I feel like the time has flown since we all found out genders/20week scans (those that have)

I had my first worry of reduced movements today, dont the norm, bath, cold drink, had my tea still very reduced, so attempted to contact my midwife...nothing.
Rang PAU and they told me to go straight in at 8pm was there couple hours, hooked up to monitor for 1hr, everything is perfectly fine though, Little madam was laying right down in my pelvis.
Got home & i think the stress of it all brought my 1st migraine in 8month on....holy crap! Talk about back with a Vengeance (i used to get these 2/3 times a month)

Busylizzie85 · 04/05/2020 01:19

@Missgemini I saw on another thread that twittlebee had her little boy about a month or so ago! As far as I know he was doing well.

Missgemini · 04/05/2020 01:27

@busylizzie85 oh, poor thing. Glad to hear that they're doing ok.

Fingers crossed for the rest of us xxx

AnonyHB · 04/05/2020 07:14

I’m the same @AndddddHerewegoagain - I want a vagina birth but I’m not prepared to be induced and I also won’t consent to instrumental delivery, so I’ve got a section book for the week after my due date (date tbc at 38 weeks). Hopefully I’ll go into labour naturally before then, but if not that’s the back up over being induced. If during natural labour problems arise I’ll be sent for section. He was really understanding and let me make the decisions for myself although I’m a lawyer and wonder whether that worried them and perhaps I got less pressure as a result? Can’t believe some of our babies will be arriving in the next few weeks, I’m so excited for us all!

@AmyMaria2 when you’ve been in for the reduced movements have they noticed anything on the trace?

AnonyHB · 04/05/2020 07:28

Has anyone purchased a baby rocker/swing yet? There are so many on the market and I obviously can’t try any of them out in shops so I’m struggling to make a decision :/

Rinoa · 04/05/2020 07:57

@AnonyHB I bought a bouncer from John Lewis , simple one for like £60 nothing battery operated . Just a bouncer that baby can use to self soothe

Rinoa · 04/05/2020 07:58

@Zoey92 yes it's all flying by now. I can't believe we will have our babies soon. Some even this month maybe!

newbyxx · 04/05/2020 08:36

How have you found your midwives? Going through my birth plan and when I mentioned c section over induction she said no I'm not aloud to just choose like that and that why would I want a c section anyway its a major op and it's not the easy option. I was quite offended when said said that as I wasn't asking because it's an easy option more that I don't want an instrumental birth. Are you aloud to ask for a csection instead of being induced or is it whatever they say goes? This is my first baby so no tears etc which I know you're aloud c section with. She kind of said induction and that's that!

Magpie21 · 04/05/2020 08:43

@Zoey92 Indeed, the weeks are starting to fly by.
Hopefully the thread will keep going for a while so we can share our new baby tips!

@AnonyHB I bought a baby bjorn bouncer. It seems to have good ratings...but I guess it will be down to what our babies like :-)

I need to make some serious and progress on my hospital bag this week! I started but I couldn’t get half of the things I needed from boots due to low stock levels. I would think stock levels are a bit healthier now though.

Baby clothes wise: I have got lots of newborn and 0-1 months (doesn’t seem to be a massive difference). I also opted for mostly rompers as it will be quite warm in theory! Just wondering if everyone else is thinking the same?

AmyMaria2 · 04/05/2020 09:09

@Cornishbumpkin yes she said I'll have a chat with someone & if I do go for a c section I'll need a chat with a surgeon to make sure I definitely know risks etc because my placenta is at the front as well, I may need a blood transfusion after If they had to cut through it or something, so will definitely think about it carefully when I have all the info! X

@AnonyHB yeah a few times he wasn't active on the trace and I had extra scans (blood flow scans) his oxygen was fine though & then another time they thought I had a lot of extra fluid but it was only just above the average amount. So nothing ever really came of it. X

Gigitree · 04/05/2020 10:01

Having a really bad SPD flare up last night/this morning. Normally if it’s quite bad in the evenings by the next morning it’s manageable again, but not this time 😢

Anyone got any good tips to help the pain when it’s a bad flare up like this? and get me able to walk more than a few steps?

I have a growth scan and consultant appointment and thanks to this SPD flare up I’m just dreading having to walk around the hospital tbh.

newbyxx · 04/05/2020 10:46

@Gigitree I was told to have a look on pelvic patnership website suppose to have Info, I never did as mine stopped after around 24 weeks. So sorry if it's rubbish and unhelpful as I've never been on the website x

Rinoa · 04/05/2020 11:11

@Gigitree do you get it more towards your groin area? I find this one helps me the most when I have a flare up. I can send the rest of the sheet of exercises if you want ! It was sent by my hospitals physio.

Due June 2020: thread 6
Gigitree · 04/05/2020 11:18

Thank you @newbyxx I’ve looked on there but I didn’t find it that helpful tbh as they refer out to different osteopaths etc and I can’t see anyone at the moment obvs, but thank you anyway and lucky you that it went, fingers crossed it doesn’t come back!

Thank you @Rinoa most of my pain is in the groin he’s, specifically the left side of my pubic bone. It’s frustrating because when I saw a physio early on, she told me to sleep on my right side as it’s the left side that is where I’m getting the pain. But obviously all the guidance for pregnant ladies tells us to sleep on our left!
I laid on my left for two hours yesterday morning as I was worried about babies movements and I’m wondering if this is what has aggravated it 🙄

I’ll give those exercises a try and see if that helps, thank you 😊

Girlinajumpsuit · 04/05/2020 11:33

@anonyhb we bought this bouncer www.bellababy.co.uk/chicco-hoopla-moon-grey.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjw-r71BRDuARIsAB7i_QPldUZjRCskQpWlrF_3QigRRvfl3im3FQl_mk_RSxzkY5GkVYrC-q4aAjseEALw_wcB

I really liked the look of the baby Bjorn bouncer and had heard great things about it but went for this one as it looked similar but was more than half the price!

Has anyone else been getting weird cramps/twinges? I've been having dull period cramps all morning. Not painful just like very light period pains but all over my belly. Wondering if this is Braxton hicks, my body getting ready for labour, or a sign I may go into labour soon - hopefully not as only 35+6!

Mj2196 · 04/05/2020 11:43

Well just been for my growth scan . Baby’s HC is measuring at 355mm and They estimate around 6lb 8 😬. Baby is still extended breech anyway so Have repeat scan in 2 weeks and we will decide on the best delivery mode depending on baby’s position and size then .
Certainly miles away from my lovely home or water birth I dreamed of at the beginning of my pregnancy!

34+1

newbyxx · 04/05/2020 11:45

@Girlinajumpsuit I'm 35+3 and been having the same pains, yesterday had cramps in left side down low but only mild, I'm putting it down to things moving into place and Braxton Hicks I'm getting a lot If I've been on my feet for a while x

Rinoa · 04/05/2020 12:12

@Gigitree here's the rest of the exercises 😊 I've been doing a mix of them all along with yoga stretches and I feel at least a little relief from it once done!
