Hey anybody using Anusol - either cream or suppositories ? Just got some but not sure if I can just use. Trying to ring the midwife too.. thanks x

Rinoa · 21/04/2020 11:46

I think I need to eat more salads. I was doing low carb before pregnancy and slipped back into high carb stuff after lol so not very good!

mrssunshinexxx · 21/04/2020 11:57

@umabb yes me but it didn't do anything so just got something else from docs

Isit for piles ?

umabb · 21/04/2020 12:06

@mrssunshinexxx hey thanks, yes it is... i just realised that piles got worse because of the constipation .. they are gross! panicked and got some Anusol from superdrug. i've used some of the cream see how it goes.. :((

umabb · 21/04/2020 12:08

Food wise i generally eat what i like but now weather getting warmer naturally welcome more salads. I'm still going through the dark chocolate Easter egg and i have ice cream/ sorbet/ice lollies at weekends as i wish. Sickness came back this week so I might need some plain toast now and then again....
Is 32 weeks supposed to be so hard !

Millettmum · 21/04/2020 12:12

@umabb
I went into a pharmacy and the pharmacist said I could use germaloid cream but not suppositories so that's what I've been using x

umabb · 21/04/2020 12:14

@Millettmum thanks i'll stick with the cream for now too. did germaloid cream help you? x

Millettmum · 21/04/2020 12:14

Anyone else seen the double breast pump offer on the bounty app? Incredibly cheap, wondered if anyone had bought them? I've attached a picture, only £15.99 plus delivery.

Millettmum · 21/04/2020 12:15

@umabb
Yes the cream helped, never had them that bad before and was really itchy!

umabb · 21/04/2020 12:16

@Millettmum that's good to know. I'll use it for a few days see if it's any better, might give germaloid cream a go too. x

Busylizzie85 · 21/04/2020 12:21

@UKtoSK I'm eating what I fancy trying to balance it a bit with fruit and veg and I home cook 80% of my meals but as @mrssunshinexxx mentioned I have done a lot of baking through mainly boredom. I made a cheesecake today 🙈 and I am sure little miss is about 20% healthy veg and fruit and 80% chocolate, ice lollies and biscuits.

Gigitree · 21/04/2020 12:29

Yes @Busylizzie85 ice lollies are tasting soooo good right now! Think my little one is going to love fruity ice lollies!

Does anyone else constantly have a bad taste in their mouth? All day long I have this horrible taste in the back of my throat! Temporarily goes when I eat though 😂

chocolate26 · 21/04/2020 12:56

@UKtoSK I'm eating pretty much what I fancy! I suppose it helps that 80% of it is healthy food. If I fancy chocolate, crisps, ice cream I will eat it though when I want it. I was completely off of junk food for the first 25 weeks ish so only been eating it since then.

@Gigitree yes I constantly have this bad taste too! I find drinking lime cordial or lemon squash with sparkling water helps mine, or brushing my teeth after I've eaten anything.

Gigitree · 21/04/2020 12:58

@chocolate26 glad it’s not just me! I’m getting through so much orange squash 😂

mrssunshinexxx · 21/04/2020 13:03

@umabb I had been on anusol and suppositories for a month they haven't helped at all it's so annoying I wanted to get on top of them before birth

sarahlounich · 21/04/2020 13:55

@chocolate26 I know how you feel. I had a bad day yesterday...woke up feeling really sleepy and lethargic. Then DH came home from work to tell me someone else has tested positive for covid and I had an emotional breakdown for about half an hour. He works in a prison...social distancing difficult, no PPE etc, we do everything we can- he strips in the hall, clothes separate to mine, antibac phone etc and showers before I go near him. But it just got a bit too much thinking about the run up to my due date and the fact he'll be back in there after 2 weeks paternity.

Also I've just been part of a post on a fb group where someone had asked about visitors etc when you've had baby. My stance depends on where we are coming out of lockdown I.e if they are allowing immediate family to socialise in houses etc, but also my mum and MIL are shielding, my dads retired and going to supermarkets at the minute but could completely isolate and my sister and her husband are working from home and only going to supermarkets. So infact we'd more of a risk to the grandmas to be than they would be to us for 2 weeks after coming home from hospital. I won't be letting work colleagues etc come round but my current thinking is to have immediate family to visit.

What's everyone else's thoughts?

I go through periods of constipation then it feels like his squeezing my bowels..so painful! Then it resolves it's self! My main meals have been relatively healthy, bar the odd take away but my snacks not so much! I've found marshmallows have helped with my reflux/indigestion and they're yummy too 🙂

Sorry for the long post!

Girlinajumpsuit · 21/04/2020 13:56

Another vote for ice lollies here! Dh was outraged this morning when he discovered I had eaten the entire box on my own... they are just so refreshing at the moment!

Girlinajumpsuit · 21/04/2020 13:57

Is anyone elses baby measuring fairly small? Mine is on the 10th centile line, which is fine, just wondering how accurate the measurements are and how likely it really is he will be a tiny baby!

chocolate26 · 21/04/2020 14:08

@sarahlounich that must of been really hard for you to hear someone else has tested positive! It's such a worrying time isn't it. My DH is still going out to work too, he works in London and Surrey and we live in a little village in the south east so I get worried about him going to built up areas! Luckily he doesn't have to come across many people at all for his job and drives in rather than using public transport but I still worry all the time and am envious of women who's partners can work from home.

As for visitors at home I'm just playing that completely by ear and seeing what the situation is when he/she is born, I'm only 31+3 at the moment so still a way to go hopefully. I think if it's still like it is at the moment we won't be letting anyone round to meet him/her which is heartbreaking but if it's calmed down a bit and some restrictions have been lifted then we will allow close family round.

mrssunshinexxx · 21/04/2020 14:20

@chocolate26 @sarahlounich it's so hard thinking about the visitor think it could be heartbreaking for parents not be able to come but even if lockdown has relaxed the virus is still out there any the babies aren't immunised until 8 weeks it's such a difficult decision I'm trying not to think about it as you say until it's an actual reality as it's still 2 months away a lot can happen

Gigitree · 21/04/2020 14:20

@Girlinajumpsuit I could imagine that being me and my hubby lol! They’re just so refreshing and satisfying aren’t they? I actually made some of my own with tinned mango & pineapple blended with a bit of yoghurt - they came out pretty good actually and helped in a pinch when we’d run out and our next food shop was a while off.

I’m not being measured by my midwife so I won’t know babies size until my first growth scan on 4th May - but from what I’ve heard they’re fairly inaccurate!

@sarahlounich I’m sorry to hear that, must be such a worry for you! Sounds like you guys are doing as much as you can to protect yourselves though. The lack of PPE country wide is frightening.

Re: visitors I’m just going to wait and see until nearer the time as I’m not due till end of June so things could change a fair bit between now and then. Likely it will just be immediate family if anyone at all. My parents have been completely self isolating, but my sister and her husband and their two boys are currently living with them and while they’re not going out to work, they’re still going to the supermarket etc so there’s still a small risk there.

SearchingTheSkies · 21/04/2020 14:22

@Girlinajumpsuit Yes mine is measuring right on the lowest line of the growth curve - I think that's the tenth centile but could be wrong. This was plotted following my first growth scan so must be fairly accurate. I've got my next scan tomorrow and the consultant said as long as baby is following the curve, that's what matters. Was yours calculated by a scan or by measuring your bump?

I'm not eating quite as healthily as I'd like, but not terrible. Main meals are healthy but too much chocolate in between.

I've also been craving ice lollies. My throat has felt really dry and almost constricted, which I can only assume is due to the acid reflux.

umabb · 21/04/2020 14:29

@mrssunshinexxx ahh I really am hoping that it'll help as it's so painful at the moment. :( awful of course if we still have this problem while in labour!

RE visitors my parents live in China and I was hoping that they'd come for the birth but doesn't look possible at the moment. The in-laws are in their 70s and self isolating and usually it's us visiting them not the other way anyway.. so I guess not even something for me to feel sorry about :( i do hope my parents could still make it before the summer ends though.

umabb · 21/04/2020 14:30

I'm thinking to get a ice lolly now. anybody? ;)

UKtoSK · 21/04/2020 14:41

Everyone sounds pretty similar to me. I try my best to eat as healthily as I can when I can but mix it up with the odd bit of pasta/pizza/chips here and there, and of course daily chocolate! You’re all making me crave ice lollies and Korean ice lollies are...disappointing. Also can’t get squash here so I’ve been making do with Capri suns. I just feel guilty every time I eat anything that isn’t a vegetable lol.

@Girlinajumpsuit At 30 week scan my girl was measuring exactly at 30 weeks for head size and femur length but about two weeks behind for her torso but the doctor said it was all fine. Not sure what percentile that is since they don’t tell you that here. She was estimated 1.27kg.
