September 2020 babies?

EssJayyCee · 04/01/2020 21:32

I'd like to share my journey with some moms-to-be with a similar due date.

I think I'm due around 9th September 2020 but I've had no scans yet.

This will be my first baby after TTC for 17 months! With very irregular cycles. I was in the process of fertility appointments- my next one was to get medication to help so I feel very lucky!

I think I am around 4weeks+3 but I am taking a CB Digital in the morning to see what that says.

Looking forward to chatting to some of you lovely ladies!

@Newyears2020
Thanks, I did book it privately yeah, I'm very nervous about it. We're going to be doing the harmony screening too, so all going well we will have another scan about 11 weeks with the harmony, then booking appt at 13 weeks. Are you planning on early scanning yourself?

Louisg · 24/01/2020 22:13

@Sulkypatsy how was your scan?

Sulkypatsy · 24/01/2020 22:36

@louisg
The scan went ok. The heartbeat was heard to detect and a little slow, I've to go back again this day next week. But she said everything looks great and it's probably just that I'm a little behind what I thought because my cycles are irregular. I'm very anxious about it but just trying to keep myself busy while I wait, I don't know if I can hold off until Friday, might try to go sooner

Louisg · 25/01/2020 10:04

@Sulkypatsy it sounds great to me. Were they able to date you? Fingers crossed for you. I have an early scan today. It's very nerve wracking, I'm sure everything will be okay when you go back Grin

Babymummasoontobe4 · 25/01/2020 10:37

Omg these weeks are going slow..I'm 7.3 weeks..got the midwife on the 3rd of Feb. How long after midwife was you're scan x

Sulkypatsy · 25/01/2020 11:49

Good luck Louisg. Hope it's a lovely time for you. They dated me about 5w6d from lmp i should have been 7w1d but I know I definitely wasn't that far along, I don't usually ovulate until about cd 22 so I'm trying to reassure myself with the thought that it could have been a late ovulation and implantation. I'm in Ireland, we don't see a midwife until booking appointment here, which is meant to be between 12-14 weeks but is sometimes later. I booked the scan privately for peace of mind, although that hasn't exactly worked out.

Louisg · 25/01/2020 13:29

It's went okay but oddly hasn't reassured me. They dated me 6w2 which is a few days under what I thought which has worried me but she said it was a strong heartbeat and everything looked okay. I was so sure I'd be further along. A waiting game. I too haven't seen my midwife yet

Sulkypatsy · 26/01/2020 21:07

I'm sorry it didn't go as you would have liked, it sounds like a positive report on the whole though. Will you be going back to be scanned again soon?

Louisg · 27/01/2020 09:44

@Sulkypatsy I'm unsure. I was going to book another one at around 9 weeks but the sonography right told me now I've seen a heartbeat the chance of a miscarriage drops. I think for now I will save my money as they're expensive private.

Does anyone know when the midwife listens for a heart beat? Is it your first appointment

SavanahXx · 27/01/2020 16:59

@Louisg some listen for it at the 16 week appointment but some won't, I had to argue while pregnant with DD for them to try, because the baby is still so small at that stage, they don't want to panic you if they can't find it if the baby is in an awkward position. If i remember correctly, from you 24 week appointment, they listen to the heartbeat at every appointment after that

lou1904 · 29/01/2020 13:48

Hey, I am wondering if I can join this group! I am currently 5 weeks pregnant and due on 27 September Smile first baby so overanalysing everything at the moment!! Hope you are all having healthy pregnancies xxx

Nooodles · 29/01/2020 15:55

Hi everyone :) I’m due on 23rd September, I’ve always been a watcher on these forums but I thought I’d jump in and be sociable this time around :)

This is my third pregnancy, I’ve got a 3 year old daughter, but miscarried my second at the end of last year. I had early scans for both of those pregnancies (privately), obviously the first one was all positive and made me feel so good to see our little bean’s heartbeat :) but it’s where the sadness started for our second. After weeks of uncertainty and waiting (my uterus is an awkward shape/angle so even after two weeks of multiple scans they couldn’t see what was happening) I miscarried at 10 weeks.

So this time around, I’m in two minds about whether to have an early scan again. If it’s all going well then I hope it’ll put my mind at ease and make me feel a whole lot better, but if it’s not ... I can’t face the uncertainty again. :(

What are you guys doing? And any of you who have had a miscarriage before, how are you coping? It’s so different this time around, I’m trying to keep positive but it does get on top of me sometimes :)

Wishing you all lots of healthy baby dust

Louisg · 29/01/2020 15:56

Hi @lou1904 hope you're okay. I'm seven weeks and the sickness has knocked me off my feet Confused the joys haha

Nooodles · 29/01/2020 15:58

Also if I remember rightly, at the midwife appointments they don’t use the Doppler to listen to baby’s heartbeat until quite far into your pregnancy... can’t remember quite when but definitely not the first appointment. :)

xx

Sulkypatsy · 29/01/2020 18:21

I was back for a repeat of ultrasound today, little pip had grown from 3.2mm crl to 8.8 and a good strong heartbeat of 131 bpm. They dated me 6w5d, I'm 8w from lmp but I've got PCOS/long irregular cycles so I'm pretty confident that the dates they gave me make sense. Nausea is bad, and burning pain in nipples+general breast pain.

Louisg · 29/01/2020 20:05

@Sulkypatsy so glad to hear it!!

Sez2020 · 29/01/2020 21:17

@Nooodles so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. We lost our last in September at 8/9 weeks and so yes this pregnancy is very different. I'm jumping at everything, any twinge if my morning sickness eases slightly I fear the worst.
It's so long to wait without knowing and as I'm heading to the 8 week mark really want some reassurance. Its a tough one to know whether to go for an early scan. I haven't before. But thought of waiting so long and then nothing is horrible. Hang in there keep telling myself there is nothing I can do it will be what it is - not easy though! X

Nooodles · 29/01/2020 21:26

@Sulkypatsy That’s brilliant news :) :)

Thank you @sez2020 :) it’s so strange isn’t it ... I had awful sickness every day with my first pregnancy, I’d wish for a day of feeling good, and then as soon as I did, I’d worry that the sickness was gone and want it back again! You can’t win ...!

It definitely has helped me to read others who are having the same thoughts and worries, we’re all in this together! xx

SpaceSharkTea · 29/01/2020 22:04

Just found out I'm expecting.. 2 strong positives after dinner wasn't the desert I was planning!

TTC for 1 year so very please but still shocked which I was expecting. NHS due date calculator says 28th September but I've had irregular cycle lengths since TTC so not 100%. Will ring the doctors tomorrow to get the ball rolling!

SavanahXx · 29/01/2020 22:40

Hi ladies, and hi to all the new ladies that have recently got their BFPs!! Hows everyone doing? My sickness has increased and I feel awful! I have my booking in appointment tomorrow. Has anyone discovered any cravings they have yet? I can't stop drinking milkshakes! 😆😆

Louisg · 30/01/2020 07:43

No cravings as of yet. Does anyone have any hints or tricks for sickness? I've never had it in previous pregnancy so it's knocked me off my feet Confused I feel sick nearly 24 hours a day

Bubble29 · 30/01/2020 08:13

Hi ladies,
So glad I found this thread. I'm due the 23rd Sep so 6+2 weeks and this will be my first.

I've had morning nausea for about 5 days now. It hits me when I wake for my 4am wee and it's still there when I wake up.

I can't stand my usual over night oats for breakfast and now crave crumpets 🤣

First doctors appointment isn't until next week- I'm not sure what to expect.

Anyone else find they're wishing the weeks away to get to 12 weeks?

Nooodles · 30/01/2020 12:50

@Louisg I was so so sick with my first baby, it was every darned day! The only thing that really helped me was eating a little bit, often - I found the nausea was so much worse when I had an empty tummy. So I had a box of dry cereal and just munched it pretty constantly throughout the day. Even if I felt sick whilst eating it, it felt so wrong - but after a few minutes it would hit my tummy and start to ease off. Hope that helps you :)

Louisg · 30/01/2020 14:41

@Nooodles thank you I'll have to try!

Has anyone else got vagina pains? They're not painful but I can feel them actually in my vagina not my stomach Confused hope it's just everything shifting and growing

Sulkypatsy · 30/01/2020 16:35

@loiusg, I've had a shooting pain from time to time, apparently it's very normal. Lightning fanny, it's weird but doesn't bother me too much.
Nipple pain on the other hand...they're constantly burning, and my skin is getting dryer and more flaky by the day, I don't know if I should bother seeing the doctor but it's so sore
