Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

Also forgot to ask has anyone started showing? My belly has definitely got bigger this week. I keep hiding it by wearing baggy tops and loose dresses with tights at work! x

SavanahXx · 04/02/2020 00:35

Thankyou @Mrs71 I'm really nervous, but praying for the best. Hope the little bean is ok.

I hope your pregnancy is also smooth sailing. Your scan date will be here before you know it!

SavanahXx · 04/02/2020 00:39

@Mrs71 on the belly getting bigger front. This is my 5th pregnancy, 3 miscarriages. I'm 9+2 and I look bigger now than what I did at 4 month with DD. Its probably wishful thinking but I'm not sure whether its bloat or bump. Its definitely noticeable though!

Mammasj · 04/02/2020 06:00

@Mrs71 Aw I'm so excited for you! This 12 week scan is going to be so special for you! 🤗 My stomach is definitely showing now! 🤦🏽‍♀️ as I'm on baby 3, I've lost all muscle tone and as with baby 2, I had quite a clear 'bump' by 8 weeks. It's probably a lot of bloating too but it really is very obvious. None of my normal work trousers are fitting and I'm wearing baggy tops, scarfs and anything really to try and hide it! 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 for someone reason, I grow HUGE babies so I'm fully expecting a 12lb boy this time 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 xx

Thanks @Vialarooski good to know the worry just morphs into different kinds of worry haha 🤣 my mum had me in the 80s and didn't have a Single scan or test and she was 37, and I was her first baby! Just can't believe how much faith she must have had! She said she just didn't worry lol. Lucky for some.
I am not too worried really, feeling positive.... like you say, we have to try to be in the moment we are in... Just want the scan to come! Yes @Mrs71 not long at all now! 2 weeks! 🤗 DP and I have a romantic night in Cotswolds the weekend before too so hopefully that distracts me a little bit :)

@littlemisssunshinehere welcome! Did you have your scan? Hope all is well! I'm sure it will be x

IslayBrigid · 04/02/2020 09:10

@Mrs71 I'm not really showing yet, but is my first pregnancy. In saying that I had to change my skirt this morning as it was a stretchy material and really accentuated by stomach and it does look slightly rounder than usual! But if I suck in nothing hehe. Lots of veins on my hips and boobs tho, read it's all the new blood supply flushing around! All so magical ✨

IslayBrigid · 04/02/2020 09:11

@SavanahXx good luck for your scan! Let us know how it goes! Get a good picture 🥰💛

MissStripeyPants · 04/02/2020 10:18

Hi everyone!
I’ve been a bit quiet, lots going on at home and just been on countdown to our 12 week scan. I was quite worried as I felt nauseous around weeks 7/8/9 and then absolutely fine since then!

Had our scan yesterday and all is well! 12 weeks + 4 days so we have a due date of 13 August 2020 👶🏻❤️

Just wanted to reassure anyone who’s symptoms have gone away that it really doesn’t mean anything and is nothing to worry about! The only thing I noticed was pains when I sneezed for the past 3-4 weeks other than that I’ve had my appetite back completely and not felt sick at all!

Here is the little one 🥰

Good luck to everyone who has their scans soon I’m sure they will all go amazingly!
I’m waiting to see people in person to tell them, which should be nice. Both of our families know and are very excited. 🙂🙂

@missstripeypants that is such a clear beautiful scan, how exciting. My 12 week scan is next Wednesday, I cant wait but nervous at the same time. Only symptom I have is tiredness, still cant sleep through a whole night. Completely different to my first pregnancy so I think it's going to be a boy, I have a nearly 7 year old girl at the moment. Who keeps hugging my belly saying hows our little nic nak in there. Lol her nick name was tic tac.
Best wishes to you having scans in the next couple of weeks xx

IslayBrigid · 04/02/2020 17:34

Congratulations @MissStripeyPants such a lovely scan! Baby is looking great :) x

2019Mama · 04/02/2020 18:21

Hi guys so just thought I’d update.. went for my scan and as I thought it was a confirmed miscarriage.

Wishing you all the best with your pregnancies ❤️

BoboN5 · 04/02/2020 18:24

@MissStripeyPants Oh how wonderful and what a gorgeous clear photo that is. You must be super excited now it's all very real indeed!

BoboN5 · 04/02/2020 18:26

@Zm2019 tic tac - so cute! I hear you on the tiredness, finding it very difficult to sleep through the night too or get in the right sleeping position. This is my first pregnancy so thinking of investing in a pregnancy pillow pretty sharpish. Finding it so different how pregnancies differ, will be interested to hear if it is a boy after all!

kersh33 · 04/02/2020 18:37

@2019Mama I am so very sorry to hear that. Look after each other at this very difficult time. Sending you many un-mumsnetty hugs.

@2019Mama I'm so sorry to hear that. I can imagine what you are going through after suffering a miscarriage myself a couple years ago. Nothing can be said to make you feel better. I wish you all the luck for the future and sending love your way x

I would like to ask a quick question of you all if I could. How are you doing in terms of weight gain?

I've suffered from nausea but not actual sickness so I think the constant eating to keep nausea at bay isn't helping. I've put on 2kg (4.4lbs in old money) since the start of my pregnancy (I'm currently 10 weeks) and I'm a bit worried that I'm going to end up massive. I lost 3 stone before getting pregnant and I think I have a secret fear of putting it all back on and more.

It's not helping that I am starting to get a belly and I'm really not sure how much is fat and how much is baby as I keep hearing that first pregnancies show much later so 10 weeks is too early to be seeing much on the outside.

IslayBrigid · 05/02/2020 11:00

Hey@kersh33

I weighed myself a couple weeks ago at nearly 9 weeks to find I had put on no weight at all, which I found equally disconcerting! However I think possibly I've lost some muscle tone as I haven't been as active as I usually am due to nausea etc. I also haven't thrown up much but have been a little.

I'm now 10+2 and not sure what I weigh as I don't own scales. I'll weigh at the gym on Fri and let you know!

However I wouldn't worry- I have read that a lot of women put on more than the 'recommended' weight during 1st trimester due to then extreme hunger, tiredness and nausea (which you are right only seems to be helped with constant eating!) and then they don't put that much on except for growing baby in 2nd and 3rd trimesters once the nausea has quietened down and easier to exercise etc.

I do have a little belly growing already too :)

IslayBrigid · 05/02/2020 11:01

Oh it didn't tag you properly .... @kersh33 ^

Zm2019 · 05/02/2020 12:35

@kersh33 I am currently over 11 weeks and I have only gained about 1-2lbs. I wouldn't worry too much. I didnt really gain anything till after 5 months with my first child.

SavanahXx · 05/02/2020 14:52

Hi ladies. I had my scan today and all was perfect! Prepared myself for the worst and was over the moon when everything turned out ok. Mummy and daddy even got a wave! I was pushed back by two days though, so im now 9+1. Now to reach 12 weeks 😆😆
