Loopy - your DH sounds just like mine (delusions of being superman )I'm not surprised you're so cross. I'd be fuming too. Have you got anyone else who can help get everything sorted for you when you get home? not exactly what you need right now is it!

Pixiefish · 02/09/2007 13:39

Grrr loopy- men

My dh is upstairs as we speak building wardrobes with dd (3) helping him. You can imagine the scene can't you.

These are the wardrobes I have needed since we moved here last November. We moved froma very spacious town house- 3 massive bedrooms and loads of storage to a tiny 2 bed cottage with no room for any storage at all. No airing cupboard nothing.

Have no idea where I'll keep the baby's nappies- spose I'll have to buy a plastic box- last tie I had enough room to have them in the airing cupboard

Exactly Loopy.

We are on a smallholding and we have a well and river running through the land. i have said thata I want the back garden blocked off so dd can't get out and also the well covered and river fenced. None have been done so the end result is that I cna't leave dd outside on her own. When I feel like crap and she wants to go outside I have to go out with her.

Mind you it is hard for him- he's self employed and works 6 days a week

Afternoon everyone!

Silkcushion - yes, i constantly feel like an invalid!!! Yesterday i scrubbed the bathroom, swept all the floors upstairs (we have flooring throughout the house) and then mopped them and i was absolutely exhausted!!! I felt very guilty for feeling so tired but what can i do? It's not my fault!

Loopy - lol @ your DH. bless him. he probably DOES think he's superman and it's not until the job is in hand that he realises that he's actually a mere mortal and could probably do with the help after all. he sounds like a typical bloke really!

Sparkly - sorry you're having a tough time with your GD. i've got my GTT on Wednesday and as all my wee samples have been perfectly fine so far, i'm wondering whether to just carry on as i am and eat what i've been eating, or whether i should actually cut out sugars and refined sugars/carbs etc. I just dont know!! Surely if there was something there it would have shown up somewhere along the line by now, wouldn't it??

Pixie - glad you're actually finally getting your wardrobes!!!

BunnyBaby · 02/09/2007 17:05

Hi guys,

Thomas is a lovely name, but I'm biased as my grandad and brother are both Tom!

Am getting over shower tumble. I put it down to mucky tenants moving out of our old flat and me and DH having to be there very late every evening last week getting it ready for new occupants. I think I wore myself out, so last night and today I've been chilling out.

V lucky that DH understands I was overdoing it, and is happily helping get on with jobs round the house. I'm just watching my ankles and legs start to go down!.. And catching up with all your news

Just a shame I have to go back to work tomorrow grrrr..

JARM · 02/09/2007 18:01

evening all

Anyone else still being sick? Thought I had got passed all this, and again last night it flared up! Cue up-chucking at 10.45pm!

Havent felt right for a few days though, so not sure if its just a bug or not?!

Pixiefish · 02/09/2007 18:03

i get it sporadically Jarm. Still get the hyperemesis as well- just not every day

JARM · 02/09/2007 18:24

am almost certain its evening sickness, have come over all icky again.

im sick of it, 28 weeks tomorrow and i want to feel better!!!

ara · 02/09/2007 19:06

RGPargy and Silkcushion - I'm right there with you...I do ONE job in the house (be that washing up, hanging clothes out, hoovering etc) and I'm blooming knackered!

Luckily for me DP is a chef so used to making lots of lovely food but i do feel sorry for him not getting time off from it when he comes home. I'm a bad wife!!

Pixie, I've said it before and I'll say it again - your house sounds lovely!! albeit a bit hazardous. I lived in a house that sounds a bit like that as a child - my Dad always starting/promising to start jobs and never quite getting round to finishing them! Our kitchen was only half built for about 10 years after he extended once. My poor Mum!!

Jarm and Pixie - that;s a bummer about sickness. I've been lucky enough to escape that altogether but the flip side is that i've put tons of weight on. Never mind though, I hear it all miraculously drops off when you are breast feeding.

Off for my 28 week appt tomorrow and my first anti-d injection so I am cr*pping it, but i can't pike out as I have to fly to Germany in the evening and need to hev it before I go. Keep fingers crossed for no hysteria/fainting/any of the other bonkers things that tend to come over me!!!

I will think about seeing the LO yesterday and then i will hopefully stay calm.

Pixiefish · 02/09/2007 19:20

ara- and anyone else who wants a nosey- I made a blog when i moved here. There are pics of how it was and how it is now. If anyone wants a nosey then email me on my yahoo addy and I'll email you the link.

It's [email protected]

Has anyone been in ASDA recently, they have lots of baby equiment for £10. I got a steriller for £10 and a pack of avent bottles for £10 too. I also saw that they have a britax baby carrier for £10 too, and it was really nice, but I already have one.

iris66 · 02/09/2007 21:59

The only thing I want from Adsa at the mo is a mustard coloured cardi. I bought DD one a couple of weeks ago and it looks so fab that I want one (in a bigger size obviously!) Deep V neck with 4 buttons at the bottom - washes like a dream and ideal for bf coverage too . I did think it'd be a bit stepford but figured she's going to uni so nobody will know I've got the same as her. I may just have to take a little trip tomorrow

RGPargy · 02/09/2007 22:28

I wish our Asda was a massive one that did clothes etc. Alas, it only does food and we would have to trek quite a way to get to the bigger one near us.

Sounds like they've got some bargains tho!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 02/09/2007 23:15

PeckaRolloverAgain · 02/09/2007 23:29

fab, hope I can keep it going and have loads and loads and loads!

silkcushion · 03/09/2007 06:40

Jarm- I've started being sick occasionally again too. 2 weekends ago I ate fresh pineapple for breakfast and then vomited the lot up in Homebase . Don't think I'll eat that again in a hurry. Yesterday I was sick about lunchtime for no obvious reason. Think maybe it's linked to overtiredness!

AnnainNZ · 03/09/2007 07:31

I've read some people get nausea again in the third trimester - which seems a bit mean to me! Not as many people get it as in the first trimester but I doubt if that's much comfort if you're one of the unlucky ones to get it.

aikigypsy · 03/09/2007 09:18

I've had a bit of nausea here and there, too, usually in the morning. I think it has something to do with tiredness, dehydration, and phlegm for me.

Only 8 days until I head back home and have to face unpacking from the move. Bleh. Oh, and working again!

Pixiefish · 03/09/2007 10:07

Just seen a media request for peeps due in Oct/Nov. Crap at links but if anyone is interested it'll be inthe media bit

Hey ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining your thread!!

I'm due to have my first on the 24th November and v v excited!

I'm starting to get sick again now, not that it has ever really stopped... I blame the constant heartburn.

I've been sleeping really badly these last few nights - feel really restless, not just my legs but my whole body. Had my anti-d injection on Friday though - does anyone know if this affects sleep??

Another thing - (sorry to go on!!) - does anyone have any strong views about birthing pools? I really want one, I think...
