Hope you're ok MrsJ

mrsjetson · 31/08/2007 14:24

Soooooo......rather long sorry.

Over the last few days the BH's have become rather harder, faster and more frequent. Both of my Doctors are out of the country until the end of September so DH and I were self diagnosing!! We then heard about a midwife who had trained in Germany so thought let's talk and see what she thinks. All was fine in the phone conversation until she started mentioning other things which were also happening, low abdominal pain etc. As you know she visited last night to have a look.

Of course LO wasn't going to perform for her so no BH's to prove my point. MW decided to do an internal - which panicked DH and I as they don't do that at our hospital in the UK. She said that I was 3.5cms BUT that was NORMAL for a 4th pg. However the rather strong BH's have been causing the uterus to start working overtime which could push me into real labour.

Sooo I am stuck here to basically see what happens over the next couple of days. We can't get a flight out until mid next week anyway!! She told me to take Magnesium until we can return to the UK, as this apparently stops contractions. Anyone heard of that?? I might have to go in search of Lulumama.

It actually all boils down to a total amount of stress since I stayed with my bloody mother over the Summer - do you remember those posts????? We no longer talk and my sister is being a vindictive cow and causing too much trouble! Also I have the new house to furnish and decorate, kids to put into their new school and have a baby in less than 6 weeks. Another problem, which I hinted at a couple of weeks ago on here, is that I had been feeling really low which I think actually started all of this - I worry too much about the slightest of things.

I have been prescribed the 'do nothing' medication!! It is rather difficult though, but I shall adhere to the advice.

x

RGPargy · 31/08/2007 14:39

Welcome back MrsJ!!!

Glad that everything is ok, so to speak. You must make sure you take the "do nothing" treatment at all costs.

No advice or anything i'm afraid. Glad you're ok tho.

iris66 · 31/08/2007 14:42

mrsjetson - blimey what an ordeal I'm really pleased you're all ok though. Sounds like you could really do without being in contact with your family for the moment if they're going to cause you even more stress! Do they understand how their behaviour is affecting you?
I've never heard of magnesium but have looked up the homeopathic remedies for you (if you can even get them where you are )aconite & arnica are 2 remedies used when early labour is threatened (according to my homeopathy pack from Helios)The aconite, particularly, helps with any associated fear. HTH and also that you are stable enough to return to the UK next week (I'm only down the road from you near Chippenham so if you need anything...)

Loopymumsy - secale 200c is the remedy to take immediately after syntometrine. You can get it from any homeopath or from the Helios website (again, sorry for not letting you know sooner - only just remembered )

littleoldme · 31/08/2007 16:15

Mrs J - Glad things are looking brighter. Lots of love to you all.

Bearus · 31/08/2007 16:16

Phew! I found the thread! Sorry have been so absent but been on hols in wet France for a week. Hope everyone well though. Anyone getting loads of uncomfy thumps? I don't remember it being this strong last time!

Right - now am going to have a read and catch up.

RGPargy · 31/08/2007 16:25

Bearus - last night i was sitting on the sofa with DP and i kept jumping as baby kept giving me strong kicks/thumps right in the bladder and fanjo!!

I'm not complaining tho - i love feeling every single movement she makes!!

Bearus · 31/08/2007 16:46

RG - Awww..it is lovely when they kick although the fanjo thing feels a bit unreal eh? last night had a similar thing to you where little Bearus was doing a solo mexican wave!!!

Pixiefish · 31/08/2007 18:43

MrsJ- you take t easy- I do know that is is easier said than done.

Where are you staying when you come back to the UK now then?

MrsJ hope all is well, what a fright! time for some serious relaxing methinks.

Got a 4d scan booked tomorrow - it feels a teeny bit like cheating but i can't wait to see the LO!!

Been round at my friends bounding her 3 week old all afternoon and it's made me feel all motherly!

Bunnybaby- glad you're okay. Falling in the shower is scary enough without being pg!

MrsJ- Hope you are able to relax. I know it's easier said than done.

iris66 · 01/09/2007 07:22

Bearus - hope you're feeling refreshed after your hols (even thought they were wet!)

WARNING - major moan alert (DH away so nobody to rant to!) DD's just left for work and I feel like a wet rag this morning. DS hasn't slept properly since DH went away and was up nearly all of last night (only managed to get him back in his cot once). I had loads of BH & DS was kicking me everywhere & headbutting me as he got comfy so I had very little sleep And my finger is all swollen and sore (I cut it the other day & it went a bit yucky. I don't think it's infected anymore but is still swollen and I can't get my wedding ring back on ) and to top it all I think I've broken my toe (somehow managed to kicked the edge of the door yesterday in bare feet and now 1 toe is all swollen and very stiff/painful) grizzle, grizzle, moan moan humph. thanks for listening - as it were.......

ara · 01/09/2007 07:29

poor you Iris!! have some nice toast and honey or something lovely like that and then try putting feet up for the rest of the day if you can.

I'm also feeling bit grotty this morning - seemed to sleep not too badly but I keep waking up feeling as though my back is on the verge of snapping! Which is why I am not having a lie in with DP this morning.

Maybe i need to start wearing a bustenhalter in bed....mm.

Never mind, we are off for our scan later - i can't wait

JARM · 01/09/2007 07:38

Hello Jarm!

You're dates a couple of days after mine - I'm not having the weeing problem although I'm struggling with sleep a bit!!

I should probably pop over to Dec thread to say hello too sometime as i suppose there's every chance LO will hang on till then!

Pixiefish · 01/09/2007 08:19

Gosh how scary Bunny.
Hia Jarm- nice to see you here

OP posts:
Pixiefish · 01/09/2007 08:20

I'm having problems weeing- have to go to the loo a couple of times before I go to sleep and then a couple of times int he night. The main nuuiscance is that our loo is down stairs

OP posts:
iris66 · 01/09/2007 08:24

Pixie - I get that too. I get to the bursting point & only do a teaspoonful! I think when I lie down the LO shifts off my bladder a bit so I can actually empty it better.

JARM - nice to see you back (reckon you'll still be with us on the PN thread )

ara · 01/09/2007 08:49

Just added a photo of my bump - it's suddenly popped out in the last ten days - at last!! think i haven't really been looking pg because my boobs have been stealing it's limelight.

....there's no mistaking now though...!

iris66 · 01/09/2007 10:51

ara - what a beautiful neat little bump (you are very pretty btw - oh to be 29 again )

sparklygothkat · 01/09/2007 10:53

ara your bump is so neat!!, I have a neat bump but its huge!!

littleoldme · 01/09/2007 11:09

Bunny- what a nightmare. The only thing to do is stop having showers!

Pixie - Iris . re the whole weeing thing. i read somewhere that leaning forward helps to empty the bladder properly - seems to work. Hope you manage to have a good day iris.

Very sore with the pelvis last night. Had to get Dh to help me hobble back from the loo at 5.30 am. He's such a trooper.

Time for second breakfast. Not sure how I can be hungry AGAIN. I'm starting to feel like a Hobbit.

Was pedantic and reported that for sale post. If I wnat to buy something I'll look on the boards.

sparklygothkat · 01/09/2007 11:12

I was in so much pain last night, I did actually wonder if something was happening. But as it was on the top of my bump, I thought I would see how it went. It disappeared in the early hours. I think it was from leaning over my brother's laptop for hours trying to get rid of a virus.
