Hi, hope you don't mind me joining. I got my bfp this morning, but I knew I was pregnant as I'm over 2 weeks late for af. I had a mc this summer at around 9 weeks so I've been putting off testing as I knew I'd just worry as soon as I got a positive.
So if all goes well, I'm due 17th June. I'm ringing the midwives tomorrow to get my booking in. I just hope this one sticks! I already have a dd but would so love another baby.

mrsc1987 · 27/10/2019 15:58

Booked our early scan for next Sunday so I'll be 7+5 i think..really hoping to see a heart beat and be reassured, so much cramping is worrying even though we get told its normal I keep questioning it, trying not to get too excited

rampantrose · 27/10/2019 16:48

I literally can't put food down. Everytime I stop eating I become seriously nauseated. I usually struggle with gaining weight I've tried and tried everything. So far I'm piling on the pounds! I'm just finishing cooking a huge roast dinner. Can't wait. Ice cream and snacks for once the little ones have gone bed too. Oh and already planned a mc Donald's breakfast for tomorrow as going out with my mum so know I'm going to be starving by time we get there! I've had takeaway 3 days in a row. Eeeek! Healthy food is making me heave atm.. Give me carbs and I'm okay! Xx

Zoey92 · 27/10/2019 17:18

Hi guys new hereSmile im 6+4 with my first. The nausea is excruciating 🤢 & smells god dont gey me started.
Any advice for it x

MsMiaWallace · 27/10/2019 19:16

Even though it's early days has anyone been having a sneaky peek at maternity wear etc?
For me it helps looking to the future to stop worrying about the present!!

Zoey92 · 27/10/2019 20:23

I do have a little peak now & then i cant help myself

Vio112 · 27/10/2019 20:38

@anny27 sending you love and thinking of you x x x

Smiffette · 27/10/2019 21:11

@MsMiaWallace yes I have totally been doing this and trying to think what would be appropriate for work wear in the summer time when I'll be big and probably over heating!

AmyMaria2 · 27/10/2019 22:08

I haven't looked at maternity wear yet but I have brought a couple of baby vests & hats😬😂

Whatnext11 · 28/10/2019 11:34

Anny27 thinking of you a lot.

I'm mainly in joggers and PJs atm as not managing to work, think it will be a shock when I put normal clothes on! Can fit in my biggest jeans for now.

Bearytired · 28/10/2019 12:44

I’m going to need to get maternity jeans. Mine won’t do up at all and even with a hair tie looped through the button and buttonhole (a trick I saw on buzzfeed) I’m straining at the band. Think it’s mainly bloat as only 7+5 but getting worried how obvious it is. In wrap dresses and loose dresses at work but as a lawyer I need to be in smart stuff a lot and it’s getting harder and harder to hide.

Vomming has started here. And a rude Man refused to give me his seat on the tube this morning (was wearing baby on board badge and told him very politely I thought I was about to faint and please could I sit down?) and he was horrid so I ended up sobbing at rush hour. Another kind lady gave me her seat - why is it always the women who give up seats?!

theseriousmoonlight · 28/10/2019 13:40

@bearytired that's awful. What a mean man!

I'm lucky to have not have had any morning sickness with my first, although I know that might change with this pregnancy. I have heard that ginger tea can help though for those struggling.

I've contacted the midwives and have had to do everything by email rather than speak to anyone. I'm constantly worried I'm going to start bleeding but dreading being scanned as last time was such a disappointment. I wish the first trimester went as quickly as the rest! Last time, the first 12 weeks just dragged but the last 20 weeks seemed to go by in an instant!

Zoey92 · 28/10/2019 15:39

1st midwife appointment done, she actually thinks I'm 8weeks 😯 no concerns as of yet.
Spoke about nausea & was told if it persists to go GP and lay it on (i wont need to, its bad😂) they should prescribe something 🤞 also told to get flu jab asap xx

MilsCookie · 28/10/2019 17:20

Hey @Bearytired I think we might have the same due date as I’m also 7+5. Are you 10th June? Also sorry for the horrible man on the tube 😞 I’m sure he was just a one off and hopefully more people will be willing to give up seats than not!

@theseriousmoonlight how have you got in touch with midwives via email? I’m travelling at the moment (half way through a 4 month trip) and would like some reassurance from a MW back in the UK. Did you email your GP surgery or...? Any advice would be very much appreciated!! 😊

Bearytired · 28/10/2019 17:47

@MilsCookie yep June 10th. Have private scan on Thursday at 8+1 (mainly to help with anxiety) so know the date may change. Was using ovulation sticks however so think I’m pretty sure on dates... but a friend who was also using them was put back 3 days from when she had thought from dating scan so we shall see.

So so so anxious about scan. Crossing everything.

Are you guys planning to find out gender?

7+5

theseriousmoonlight · 29/10/2019 03:40

@MilsCookie it's just the way my midwives work. For my last pregnancy (June this year), I'm sure I rang them, left a message (they never answer the phone), then they called back for a wee chat and then sent a letter with my booking appointment date.

This time, when I rang and finally got through, there was an answer machine message instructing me to email them with my basic details. I did that then they emailed me a form to fill in (more details including basic medical and obstetric history) and when I sent that, they emailed back to say I was to expect a letter with my booking appointment in 7-10 days. I had said in my email how anxious I was but the clerk who replied to the email (not sure if she's a midwife or admin) said I wouldn't see anyone until i was 8 weeks or more and to call early pregnancy unit if I started bleeding. So not really very reassuring....

Sorry, I expect that isn't what you wanted to hear! Have you managed to speak to any midwives from home yet?

AmyMaria2 · 29/10/2019 11:04

In the waiting room for my booking in midwife appointment 😁😬

8+3

Whatnext11 · 29/10/2019 11:06

Morning AmyMaria2, no need to worry about the booking in, just some bloods, urine sample and lots of questions, take care.

Zoey92 · 29/10/2019 11:41

Its fine amy i had mine yesterday i was done within 45minutes x

mrsc1987 · 29/10/2019 12:29

Oh im excited i got a letter with my 12 week scan appointment today 3rd december! We have an early scan also booked for Sunday 3rd November so exactly a month between them. I cant wait!!

Kez437 · 29/10/2019 13:07

Is anyone else on here from NI? I think we do it differently from you, I had an appointment with my GP at around 4-5 weeks where she went through food etc to avoid and gave me the flu jab but other than that I just have to wait to my first scan at 12 weeks. No mention of midwives or booking appointments here Hmm

MilsCookie · 29/10/2019 15:34

@Bearytired due date twins! I’m also going to try and get an early scan on Thursday in India! Will be interesting to see how that goes...

We’ve discussed finding out the gender or not and for my entire life I’ve always said I would want to keep it as a surprise at the birth...but now I’m actually pregnant I really can’t wait haha - I’m too impatient! So yes I think we’ll find out 😊 what about you?

7 + 5

MilsCookie · 29/10/2019 15:36

@theseriousmoonlight ahhh ok, thank you for explaining all of that! No I haven’t been in touch with any midwife or GP at all yet because I became pregnant whilst in Nepal so I have to wait until I get back to the UK in December I think! But wanting to try and get a scan somewhere before then.... gonna try this Thursday!

AmyMaria2 · 29/10/2019 19:05

Thanks, it was half the appointment did height, weight, carbon monoxide, urine and bloods. she also said I'm a day ahead, so I was almost right. 5th June due date. I'll meet my actual midwife and get my scan booked in the second part of the appointment next week. Got my private scan tomorrow I'm sooo excited, it's not until 6pm, so going to be a long day!

@MilsCookie hope you can find somewhere to get a scan x

Here you all are. I'm a little slow. I thought tbe other group had become a little quiet.

@Anny23 Im thinking of you. Please feel free to come back and share with us all. Ive been in that situation, if the worst happens.

I've had to book another scan at 8 weeks. While out for my 40th on Saturday night two eejits started fighting and crashed into My DH and I sending us crashing into the ground. I am sure I didn't hit my tummy but Im worried the impact may have affected the baby. The EPU booked me in for a scan. Please God all will be ok. My DH was so angry with them and I have been left with bruising and a sore neck.
Would love to find these hoodlums and make the aware of the knock on effect.

Anyway like many of you I continue to eat myself through the nausea.

One question, does anyone else get sharp twinges in their tummy when they sneeze or cough, particularly when lying down?
