Yeh they told us nothing on the day, she did have trouble getting a clear scan due to my weight so maybe she was more focused on that than the screening 😂

APD1981 · 27/11/2019 18:36

My sonographer only managed one neck measurement whereas she said she usually likes to get a few and take an average. It was because baby kept putting its arms up to its face! She kept poking my tummy to try and get it to move! I'm hoping that the fact she didn't mention a number is a good thing?!

QforCucumber · 27/11/2019 18:37

They dont always say as wont want to unduly worry you - a high mm measurement alone isn't always an indicator they tie that in with other things to determine the risk factors. Mine was in my pregnancy notes though and we googled from there Haha - with ds the risk was 1:50,000

APD1981 · 27/11/2019 18:54

@QforCucumber

Thanks so much for the pregnancy notes comment. We went away for the weekend straight after my scan on Friday so I shoved them in my bag and didn't think to look at them! I've just found the measurement and after what I've been reading today it seems very low. I know it's far from conclusive but I'm now not sitting here worried as to why I wasn't told at my scan.

Thank you!

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me jumping in. I was in a first but then fell off. Great to hear some good news on hear and I'm also really sorry for those who have had bad news.

I have my scan on Monday (when ill be 11+5) and I've already had my booking in appointment with the midwife, where she took bloods weeks ago. I haven't been booked in for a downs blood test, is this something I should be doing??

I also have an appointment with an obstetric consultant on Thursday and another scan (for some reason, I think maybe GP, Midwife and a different hospital just don't talk to one another), maybe they will do this then??

TIA

newbyxx · 28/11/2019 06:24

Ah barely slept! Wish I wasn't such a worrier, is going to be a long morning. But will keep you all updated once I've had my scan 🤞🏻🤞🏻 xx

sarahlounich · 28/11/2019 06:53

Awww no I’m sure everything will be fine...fingers crossed for you! I’ve got mine tomorrow morning so I guess I’ve a sleepless night to look forward to 😬

QforCucumber · 28/11/2019 09:27

Tuesday for me, can't come soon enough - just want to know if we are having a baby or not! Constant dull ache in my lower abdo today, eurgh I just want to lay down - it's not even Friday yet :(

AmyMaria2 · 28/11/2019 10:03

umabb · 28/11/2019 11:34

@newbyxx hugs , good luck ! Xx

newbyxx · 28/11/2019 11:36

Thank you all 😘, will keep you updated xx

AmyMaria2 · 28/11/2019 12:45

Saw my fertility consultant for the last time today, she was so happy for us, in a weird way I'll miss seeing her every month! But definitely glad I don't have to anymore!
13+1

LillianFullStop · 28/11/2019 12:53

@LH1987 - they asked me if I wanted to do the blood test at my booking appointment. If you said yes there should be a little slip to fill in on your notes. Then at your scan after you've seen the sonographer they ask you to wait again for someone to call you in for the blood test. I don't think you need to book a separate appointment.

Goodluck @newbyxx!

Anyone feeling flutters yet? I didn't feel anything until 22 weeks last time so it feels quite early. It's mostly when I am flat on my back. I'm 12+6 today.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 28/11/2019 13:24

Hi everyone had my scan at 11+5 today.

Came out 15+1 Confused so due date is now 20th May.

Hoping I'm not going to be kicked off this thread 🙈

LH1987 · 28/11/2019 13:44

Thank you @LillianFullStop

Lemonysherbet · 28/11/2019 14:09

@AndddddHerewegoagain wow that's a jump!!! Congratulations 😁 I'm now 30th may and no one's kicked me out yet 😉

Having a tough day today and need to vent. Haven't been sick in 3 days and today I think I had 3 days worth to make up for it. I literally lasted for 2 hours at work and I've come home. At nearly 14 weeks I would have hoped to have seen the back of the sickness.

AmyMaria2 · 28/11/2019 15:12

@LillianFullStop haven't felt any flutters or anything yet, I can't wait until I do!

Congratulations @AndddddHerewegoagain glad the scan went well and at least you have skipped a few weeks, it seems to be going slow as it is!

@Lemonysherbet sorry your sickness is back, I work late afternoon/evenings so I'm usually ok for work, but hopefully it won't stick around for to much longer x

13+1

AmyMaria2 · 28/11/2019 15:57

@newbyxx how was the scan?xx

newbyxx · 28/11/2019 17:15

Alll went amazing! Was in for so long as baby wouldn't keep still! My dates were correct so my due date still 6th June! 12+5. Thanks for every ones support and good luck to everyone with scans coming up xx

Cb31 · 28/11/2019 17:30

@newbyxx really glad it went well!!! X

sarahlounich · 28/11/2019 17:40

@newbyxx aww congratulations on your little wriggler! I’ve got my scan tomorrow morning and definitely feeling anxious now. 🤞

newbyxx · 28/11/2019 18:43

Thank you @Cb31 @sarahlounich good luck for yours 🤞🏻💕 xx

newbyxx · 28/11/2019 18:57

Have you all over 12 weeks stopped taking folic acid? I've been taken a pregnancy support multivitamins which has included my folic acid in it. Don't know whether to stop taking or not xx

LillianFullStop · 28/11/2019 19:38

@AmyMaria2 it's nice actually especially since i haven't popped out yet and there is such a long wait between scans! @AndddddHerewegoagain wow must be exciting to be moved forward! That means it's not long until your 20w scan!!

Congrats @newbyxx! I stopped my folic acid once I started the pregnancy vitamins.

APD1981 · 28/11/2019 19:46

I've been taking pregnacare all along and am going to continue to do so.

Glad the scan went well today 😊

Have you all decided if you're going to find out the gender? I'm not. I'd love to know but I also really want a surprise! I expect, these days, I'm in the minority?
