Thank you @newbyxx @RPPs I was worried after waking up and seeing the girls bad news as well, can't imagine how their feeling. But I'm sure both your scans will be great, Definitely made it feel more real now as the baby actually looked like a baby at this scan as well lol, can't wait to hear about your scans! Good luck xxx

Hey ladies.. how are you?
I've been having twinges almost the whole day. Quite sharp pain but only last a second then it happens again in a little while. I've had to when was 6-7wks but haven't had it continuously. I've been searching on Mumsnet and found some old threads where a few other ladies said they've had it all the way through the pregnancy until 20wks it so.. so I guess it's normal ? Anybody else have similar situations?

(Sorry got a few typos there..)

umabb · 26/11/2019 17:49

@AmyMaria2 great news! Hopefully my scan next Wednesday will go well too..(getting more and more nervous)

AmyMaria2 · 26/11/2019 18:43

Thanks @umabb I'm sure your scan will be great, can't wait to hear about it! I get sharp pains when I cough, sneeze and sometimes when I'm laying down, not sure If it's the same thing but it doesn't sound like anything to worry about xx

peetieswie · 26/11/2019 19:00

@umabb I get the same thing. Seem to be for no reason. I also get the pain when I sneeze but the twinges come and go randomly too. Hoping it's normal, haven't found much online but if you're having it too then it makes me feel better

umabb · 26/11/2019 19:05

@peetieswie @AmyMaria2 I asked the midwives a few weeks ago when I had the twinges for the first time and I was told that's normal when the baby is growing at a very fast speed. I guess (and I'm hoping) its the same reason that I have it again. I didn't have the pain between 9-10 weeks though but baby grew a lot as well... so, rather random. I'm hoping for the best and trying to stay positive about it Wink xx

BudgieBird · 27/11/2019 01:47

@So12345 I've got a bump at 11+1, but I'm having twins so I expected to pop pretty early. I'm already in maternity trousers and wearing big jumpers to work as I want to wait a couple more weeks to tell them. I think a few people may have figured it out...or are secretly assuming I've been hitting the snacks too hard.

Good news, I saw my doctor today and she said the horrific gagging and heaving from brushing my teeth should go away second trimester! That's a relief as I really should go to the dentist but I know if I went now it would turn into a scene from the Exorcist.

AmyMaria2 · 27/11/2019 03:07

@BudgieBird I've got a bump at 13 weeks for sure but I guess you would pop earlier with 2! When's your scan? Will you tell people after that? Yes I can't imagine a trip to the dentist right now would be pretty😂 x

Another sleepless night, think I preferred it when I couldn't stay awake past 8pm. 😩

Smiffette · 27/11/2019 03:52

Having the worst insomnia tonight, been awake since 2am ☹️ moves to the spare room so not to disturb DH.
Just feel wide awake but keep yawning! Resisted coming on here as I thought he light would make me more awake but I'm just bored of tossing and turning!

AmyMaria2 · 27/11/2019 09:04

@Smiffette same here, had an awful night I've just been back to sleep for an hour but today is not gonna be a good day! x

Smiffette · 27/11/2019 09:18

@AmyMaria2 I sympathise
It's the worst night I've had! Luckily I'm working from home today might need a lunch time nap!

Chels2 · 27/11/2019 09:47

@MsMiaWallace my 1st scan is 6th December too lol!

I’ve got my 1st midwife appointment today. I was unwell with my 2 boys but it’s been 8yrs since I’ve been pregnant so don’t know if I’ve just forgot how unwell I was!

@Smiffette & @AmyMaria2

i used to suffer from really bad insomnia & took sominex but I’m not sure if it’s allowed during pregnancy? They do a herbal tablet aswell though so I’ll find out today if you could take them to help sleep Theyr really good & can get them over the counter in any chemist x

Smiffette · 27/11/2019 09:49

@Chels2 ok that would be great anything to help would be fab!

newbyxx · 27/11/2019 09:58

Woke up this morning feeling the most normal I have since before pregnancy and I slept well last night when I've had insomnia for the past 2 weeks, I hate these changing/ vanishing symptoms, today has made me even more nervous about my scan tomorrow as I'm feeling 'good', it's all I can think about! I have no reason to think badly as seen heartbeat at 9+3 but I feel like I can't get excited! Ahhh this feeling is horrible! Xx

Cb31 · 27/11/2019 13:01

@newbyxx at least it's just one more day. I think it's normal for symptoms to come and go. So try not to worry too much but that's so much easier said than done. I've definitely started to think more negatively over the last few days. I think it's because my scan is getting closer. What time is your scan tomorrow? X

newbyxx · 27/11/2019 13:13

@Cb31 I think I'm just preparing myself for the worse as a defence mechanism, Mum's net is so good to discuss with other expectant mums but it does freak me out too as things like missed miscarriage seems so common! Then once you seen it's hard to not think like that, but I'm keeping positive for a happy outcome tomorrow, my scan is at 13.10 x

RPPs · 27/11/2019 13:37

@Chels2 maybe you are having a girl this time. Might be an old wives tale, but the belief is that you get more sickness carrying girls. I think everyone on this griup have suffered with sickness. Ive only had nausea but many have not been ablebto work for throwing up. Mine has eased off from 11 weeks but not completely gone.

AmyMaria2 · 27/11/2019 16:38

@newbyxx everything will be fine, I was so worried but it was amazing to see baby, I can't wait to hear about your scan, think positive! Good luck for tomorrow!! Xx

Zoey92 · 27/11/2019 16:40

Nice to hear alot of yous are doing good, I've a cold brewing & a bad throat, luckily its landed on my day off work so I've just rested.
Anyone recommend anything to take? Or just ride it out?

APD1981 · 27/11/2019 17:34

Hi everyone

Don't read if you don't want to read about NT screening

For anyone who has had their 12 week scan already, were you told the NT measurement if you opted for the screening? I've just been doing some research on how long results take to come through (no news is good news, I believe) but I've seen a few old forum posts where people have been told the NT measurement at the scan. To be fair, it appeared to be only those who have had high risk measurements but that might just be because those with a low risk wouldn't necessarily post on a forum.

Just wondered if you were told anything because I wasn't.

Thanks!

Lemonysherbet · 27/11/2019 18:10

Hey @APD1981

We weren't told our measurement but my husband remembered the numbers and looked them up after! We got our results (low risk) back within 4 days though which was much quicker than I was expecting. The letter basically said low risk and had a load of numbers and really me worry purely because I like to understand things but I googled what it all meant and feel less worried now

umabb · 27/11/2019 18:17

@Lemonysherbet ah I thought we'd learn NT result at the time! Good to know as mine is coming next Wednesday. Thanks x

umabb · 27/11/2019 18:18

Good luck @newbyxx it will be all fine ! Xx

APD1981 · 27/11/2019 18:22

@Lemonysherbert

Thanks for that. I've read some more forums and it seems lots of people are told - high or low risk - but then told to wait for the combined blood results anyway because they can changes things. Neither DH nor I were close enough to the screen to be able to see any numbers. It's frustrating. Good you got your results so quickly. I had my scan last Friday but I think my hospital send bloods to another hospital for testing so obviously that would slow things down a lot.
